I cannot restore my ipod touch after it was disabled. I get error occurred 3194. Any helpful suggestions?
This device is not eligible for the requested build (Also sometimes displayed as an "error 3194")
Update to the latest version of iTunes.
Third-party security software or router security settings can also cause this issue. To resolve this, followTroubleshooting security software issues.
Downgrading to a previous version of iOS is not supported. If you have installed software to performunauthorized modifications to your iOS device, that software may have redirected connections to the update server (gs.apple.com) within the Hosts file. Uninstall the unauthorized modification software from the computer.
Edit out the "gs.apple.com" redirect from your hosts file, and then restart the computer for the host file changes to take affect. For steps to edit the Hosts file and allow iTunes to communicate with the update server, see iTunes: Troubleshooting iTunes Store on your computer, iPhone, iPad, or iPod—follow steps under the heading Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store. If you do not uninstall the unauthorized modification software prior to editing the hosts file, that software may automatically modify the hosts file again on restart.
Avoid using an older or modified .ipsw file. Try moving the current .ipsw file (see Advanced Steps > Rename, move, or delete the iOS software file (.ipsw) below for file locations), or try restoring in a new user to ensure that iTunes downloads a new .ipsw.

IOS8, can not install, restore, or kick out of recovery HELP!
None of my devices have been jailbroken nor have I used any jailbreaking tools but I did keep getting errors on all my devices (an ipad and 3 iphones) when trying to install ios8. Error 3194 came up for the ipad, not sure if the same error came up with the others but once I reset the host file back to the default settings everything starting working normally again when I connected to iTunes and I was able to install ios8 on all devices smoothly. It was very frustrating and time consuming but once I found the solution, it was simple. Fortunately, I had backed up everything before attempting the ios update so I wasn't worried about losing anything. Hope this helps anyone who comes across this and is having similar issues.

I purchased an Iphone 4 in April of 2012. I always keep it on and charge it every night. I have had some trouble turning, a couple of times, in the past. It was simply reluctant to turn on after allowing the battery to be completely expended and has behaved the same way after being manually turned off. I have again allowed the battery to completly die and turn off the phone. This time it will not turn on at all. I have tried various combinations of pressing and holding home and power to no avail. I plugged it in to the computer, but Itunes will not recognize it as my phone. Itunes is labeling it "Iphone" and has requested that I restore the phone in order to use it with Itunes. Itunes states that "has detected an Iphone in recovery mode". I, reluctantly, attempted to restore the phone. After waiting quite a while on a "software update" to download, it said preparing Iphone for restore and then said "unable to restore Iphone, unknown error - 3194". I read, online, that I needed the most recent version of itunes in order to restore. So I upgraded Itunes and restarted the compluter. On the second, and all subsequent attempts to complete the restoration, I am prompted with a message stating "unable to restore IPhone, unknown error - 1600". My computer also attempted, and I believe, successfully, installed new device driver software for iphone4 (DFU mode). Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Also is my phone, purchased 4/12, under any service or replacement warranty. I truly feel it should be easier to turn on and I did not even want to restore the phone, I just need to use it.
Thank you,
GeoffreyI am reading on this site about the error I am getting and it wants me to change some files that I am not comfortable messing with. Mainly because it is like a foreign language. Will the store do this for me or tell me if it is neccessary?

TS3694 Phone won't Restore (error 3194). Please HELP!!
My iPhone 4 is unlocked and was running on iOS 4.3.3. I am travelling and so delayed upgraging to iOS 5 till the release of iOS 6. Now, suddenly my phone is stuck on the Connect to iTunes Logo. Connecting to iTunes and Restoring to iOS 6 gives me ERROR 3194.
I have tried to Restore to iOS 5 as well as iOS 4.3.3. but all to no avail. iTunes checks with Apple Server and downloads the software (a slow painful process abroad!!) and then tries to instal the iOS only to come up with Error 3194.
I have tried repeatedly, with the same results.
Please HELP urgently... I am dead without the phone!!
Thanks in advance.See the previous discussions listed on the right side of this page under the heading More Like This.
