The bad news is that it has terrible ratings. For grins, i am installing it now on a pad and a phone, and will see if it works.

It is true that you can "return" app licenses to Apple Configurator and redistribute that license to another iPad. The key is that both iPads must be "Supervised" in order to return the app license. See this from Apple:

It can be reassigned to a different device supervised by this copy of Apple Configurator for this Mac only. It is not available for redemption by other Macs or iOS devices.

If you simply remove a device record from Apple Configurator, the redemption codes for any apps on that device will not be available for reassignment.

I am not sure where is the best place to post this question, but here it is anyway:
The school I work in has 37 iPads split between 2 mobile carts. For a variety of reasons, the staff wands the iPads divided up by classroom. No problem. The problem is that they would like the paid apps on the ipads moved around so the grade level apps wind up in the appropriate classrooms. This is logical.
My problem is I have no real idea how to free up iPads from one iPad so that they are available for transfer to another ipad. I use Apple Configurator to acquire paid apps from the Volume Purchasing Program and download/install them initially to iPads.
One knowledgeable individual gave me this advice:
"If you placed the apps on the ipad using Apple Configurator, then you should be able to attach the initial iPad to AC, unsupervise the iPad, and the apps' licences should be available for redistribution. Then connect iPad #2 to AC, turn Supervision on in AC, then add the specific app to iPad #2."
- - - - That sounded too good to be true. I tried it and found out that that process does not free up app licences (at lest when I tried it). What I think is the problem is that I don't know Apple products and iOS well enough and missed steps. (I am from the Netware/Microsoft AD/Windows computing environment.)
Could someone help an old grunt out and possibly provide a detailled set of steps how to transfer paid app licences from one iPad to another? I appreciate any help. Thanks

How can I transfer a naviagtion menu from one site to another site?

I have generated a very simple lab web site. http://neurobionet.neurobio.ucla.edu/~feldman/. One page in the main site has a link that takes you to a list of publications (i.e., click on Publications). This page that has the list is really just another iWeb generated site. I would like to have the same navigation menu on both sites. Is this possible? I do not mind mucking around the code if necessary.
Also are there any plans to have simple niceties like anchors incorporated into iWeb? In the same Publications page, it would be great if people could go directly to the year that they wanted to. Right now, the only way to do that would be to generate a separate page for each 5 year grouping.

Hi Mike,
If both sites are WITHIN one iWeb domain.sites file- as in you've created them in the same account and in the same computer - you can drag&drop pages from one site to another.
If they're created on two seperate accounts, you can't. Migrating 2 domain.sites files into one single file would be the outmost nightmare.
The navbar is dynamically created from the available pages. This is cool.
I've got some expertise on modding the templates - i've even created a whole new style navigation-bar and know quite well what can be done.

in iWeb with the site open which has got most of the stuff, create new pages based on copy/paste from a browser.
You still can have two "sites", albeit in 1 account.
BACKUP your domain.sites file before attempting these kind of things.

Well get get your music from your old computer to your new computer, the old computer would have to work and turn on to access the files to be copied over. Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings: Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive. Open iTunes and immediately hold down the option (alt) key (shift on Windows) so you get a prompt to select a library, then guide it to the 'iTunes Library.itl' file in the moved iTunes folder.
If you put the copied iTunes folder in the default location of Macintosh HD > Users > *User Name* > Music then you don't even need to start with the option key held down, iTunes will automatically look for it there. (Make sure there isn't anything already in the iTunes folder there that you want to keep since you will be replacing it with the one you are moving.)
Longer answers if for any reason you do not think all library files are inside your iTunes folder (changed preferences settings at some point):
