I've got the same problem. Windows 8 with iTunes 11.0.1.12. Internet connection is fine otherwise. I've been through the troubleshooting steps listed on support without success. Running network diagnostics says Secure link to iTunes Store failed.

I have been having a lot of trouble with iTunes on Windows XP. I have had to completely uninstall iTunes, QuickTime, iPod, Apple Mobile Support, Apple Application Support, etc. and reinstall iTunes several times just to get to this point: now when I connect my iPhone using USB, I get the error message:
'iTunes could not connect to the iPhone "John L. Mohammed" because the pairing record is missing.'
What is this about? What can I do about it?
It should be noted that the latest attempt to install iTunes does not seem to have installed QuickTime, though it does not complain about missing software.Try disconnecting your phone from your computer, quit iTunes, connect you phone to your computer again, the re-launch iTunes.

Go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and highlight the backup you want to delete and click on Delete Backup

i get an error message saying itunes could not sync mail accounts. because the mail accounts are in use by the iPhone. It asks that i close the mail accounts settings on the iPhone and sync again. Is it requesting that i delete my email accounts?

I have a new Ipad air. I have synced it to my PC before. This time I get an error message saying iTunes could not connect to the iPad because the device time out - what do I do?
Quit iTunes, restart your computer, reset the iPad and try again.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
