TS2776 Itunes on Windows 7 error not discussed...
I keep getting 'This ipod (or iphone) cannot be used because required software is not installed' It tells me to redownload itunes, so I have 6 times. The message will not go away. What do I do?
Hello whitesend3,
It sounds like you are opening iTunes and it is immediately becoming unresponsive. I recommend the troubleshooting in the article named:
iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8: Fix unexpected quits or launch issues
http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1717
Start with this section, and then the additional troubleshooting in the article if you need it:
Start iTunes in Safe Mode
Open iTunes in Safe Mode to isolate any interference from plug-ins or scripts not manufactured by Apple.
Hold down Shift–Control while opening iTunes. You should see a dialog that says "iTunes is running in safe mode" before iTunes finishes starting up.
Click Continue.
See if the issue you're experiencing persists in Safe Mode.
If you have the same issue while iTunes is in Safe Mode, proceed to the "Create a new user account" section. If you don't experience the same issue, follow these steps to remove third-party plug-ins.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
All the very best,

hey guys... since I upgraded to itunes7 my ipod (4th gen click wheel) doesnt sync poperly! it all began when I was syncing the ipod and my screen just froze a few secs after connecing the ipod! I had to restart the computer and reset my ipod... from that time had alot of trouble!
first the screen froze immediately when I connected my ipod with the pc and later when i had formatted it with windows several times and resetted it a million times with itunes7, itunes and windows show errors (error (-124) while syncing and everything stops! I've just spent nearly two nights on that and really hope that my ipod didn't break just because of itunes7! to stay in proper english and not get that angry in letters that I am in mind--- please so help me... my ipod is everything and im a music junkey! by the way... itunes itself works perfectly... if i not sync! how peculiar that getting back to itunes6 is impossible...i tried it... does it hav a spec reason, hah!
IBM, Pentium3 (666MHZ), FW(desire to fire), Ipod Click Wheel Windows XP 30cmI tried formatting the ipod with windows! in the end of it windows says that it was not able to format the drive properly. then I click ok, open itunes, restore the ipod, try to sync again and have the problem that after a while the whole thing freezes... no more errors....just from the moment i disconnect the ipod manually from the cable, everything gets back to normal life again! I do not know what to do! do you guys think, my computer is too old or maybe my ipod's broke???
I'm despairing people...never had problems like that until itunes7! I tried as well to close all the other working programs with the task manager... doesn't change it!
Thx for the help!
Christopher

I can't install itunes for windows get error message 5
i can't install itunes for windows get error message 5
I've been having the same issues for the past year and a half. I've spent 6-8months trying to figure it out. Went to various Itunes stores with pictures on my Iphone per each step so I could relay all information that I'd come across and the personnel were less than helpful, after conversations that would sometimes last an hour between myself, employees and managers they always came back to "simply uninstall then reinstall" when I told them for the thousanth time that I've done that multiple times and my errors are happening while trying to reinstall it they act stumped and say "well then I'm not sure, I'll give you a call if I figure it out" and disappear. I've been very disatisfied at the lack of support from Apple and if Android to piece together a reletively reliable phone I'd switch to them in a heartbeat. I'll follow this question incase someone can answer this, but I don't have much faith.
BTW, wifey has Windows 7 running on the laptop and my phone syncs just fine to that and no trouble with itunes, just mine (desktop). -

Can't update iOS 8 on my iPhone5 through iTunes on Windows 8 (error 3004, 3194). Updated host file, opened port 80, 443; turned off security system and firewall, etc. But nothing works. How to solve this problem?
Hi the_mad_movies,
It seems like this article will be the best option for addressing this issue:
Error 3194, Error 17, or "This device isn't eligible for the requested build"

Thanks for coming to the Apple Support Communities!

ITunes on Windows 7 does not show iPad2 as a device.
I want to use iTunes to trasfer contents to iPad. iTunes does not detect iPad while iPad shows in Windows Explorer. Last month it used to work sometimes, and every time after I reinstalled iTunes.
I have tried to reinstall iTunes, restart Windows 7 and iPad, and stop other Windows services. iTunes 10.5.2.11 and iOS 5.0.1 are the current versions.
I made an appointment with Apple Expresslane Support later, but wonder if anyone can help me here.It works now following the discussion "My iPad 2 doesn't show up in iTunes" posted by iFart last month !
Using the USB ports on the back of computer (instead of the front ones) works without a problem. -
Itunes for windows runtime error
On the last update for itunes an error happend. Now I have an runtime error. I deinstall itunes but now every time i boot my PC and windows startet I got an runtim error. In the Task Manager I see it is applephotostream.exe. I see that the apple folder is not completly empty. Sure I will have itunes on my PC again. What can I do.
ThanksGo to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features(Later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall press on)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
See also HT1925: Removing and Reinstalling iTunes for Windows XP or HT1923: Removing and reinstalling iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8, some users may need to follow the process recommended here which includes some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.
In this instance you may also need to remove and then reinstall the iCloud Conrol Panel.

Trouble installing iTunes on Windows 8 - Error writing to file
Hey all,
Trying to install iTunes on my computer, tried installing it on two seperate hard drives it worked on neither (one was brand new, the other is a month old SSD). The error I get is:
http://i45.tinypic.com/727o9f.png
I've tried uninstalling all apple products, deleting all folders to do with apple, installing as admin, taking ownerships of the files etc. Nothing works. Any ideas why?
CheersHmmmm.
Any better luck if you try a manual uninstall of the GEAR drivers prior to the iTunes install?
For a link to instructions, see solution 3 from the following document:
iTunes for Windows: Optical drive is no longer recognized, or "Disc burner or software not found" alert after install
(Fingers crossed they've got Windows 8 instructions up now.) -
Trying to repair iTunes on Windows Vista will not allow to do so except to uninstall it
Trying to repair iTunes on Windows Vista. Will not allow me to do it. I've followed the instruction to select the programme in control panel, the select 'repair', unfortunately, the only option available to me is 'uninstall.' Therefore, I tried to uninstall with a view to reinstalling the whole programme but it wouldn't let me do this either because the .msi file could not be found.
Can anyone out there help??
Regards

(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -
ITUNES MATCH - Need help. Windows 7 Error message on upload (Step 3) from PC - 3 times get "Windows must close program [iTunes]" with only 30-50 of 500+ songs. Anyone have this issue of iTunes crashing?
Exactly the same problem here. As far as I can see this problem has been around since Match was first released with no action from Apple to rectify it. I've spent days trying to get this to work now and unless I get a fix soon, I'm going to pull my Match membership and ask for a refund because this is not what I signed up for...

ITunes for Windows 8 does not see iPhone and iPad
In my HP Envy notebook, iTunes (last version) does not connect to iPhone and iPad. Note that the PC connects to both. Only iTunes does not. I think this version of iTunes for windows does not use the correct USB driver.
