TS2934 locking up while watching the movie

when i'm watching any movies on Apple TV, the movie locks up every so often, sometimes for a few minutes @ a time

How fast is your Internet connection.  According to Apple:
A sustained 8-Mbit/s or faster Internet connection is recommended for viewing 1080p high-definition movies and TV shows, 6-Mbit/s or faster for viewing 720p content, and 2.5-Mbit/s or faster for standard-definition content. Internet connection speeds may vary depending on your ISP and other factors.
By the way, I've found WIDE variations in the alleged data rate for my connection depending on which utility I use to measure the rate.  One app reliably tells me 24Mbps while another reliably tells me 12Mbps and yet a third reliably states 8Mpbs.  A fourth gives me readings all over the map!
