TS2972 How can I deauthorise a computer I have not got anymore

How can I deauthorise a computer I haven't got any more
I am trying to get home share on a new laptop with iTunes Match but it says I have 5 computers already
But when I looked at the devices it says I only have 3
That is Mac mini ,ipad2,iPhone 4s
I also just got a Apple TV but that  hasn't come up on the list
I think I didn't deauthorise the old laptop that I gave away but it has been reformatted since they had It.
Sorry this is so long and complicated hope someone can tell me how I can get my new laptop with windows 8 on to home share in iTunes

Authorization applies ONLY to computers.
Ipods/iphones/ipads/Apple TVs are not authorized at all.
If you have reached the limit of 5 computers, then you can deauthorize all, then authorize the active computers.

  • How can I deauthorise a computer I no longer have?

    Hi
I've got several computers authorised to play music purchased from iTunes.
One of those computers died sometime ago unexpectedly and is beyond repair. Because I can't use that computer to open up iTunes and deauthorise, is there a way I can look at the list of computers already authorised and remove the damaged computer from the list?
I've used iTunes for a long time, and can't think of an answer. If anyone has a clue i'll -be very grateful!

is there a way I can look at the list of computers already authorised and remove the damaged computer from the list?
    No.
When you get to 5 authorized, you can select Deauthorize all and then reauthorize what you currently have.

  • HT1420 How can I find out what computers I have authorised? Or how can I deauthorise a computer if i no longer have access to it?

    Hi,
I have 4 authorised computers for my iPhone but I have no idea what 2 of them are. Is there a way I can see what the computers authorised are? Or can I deauthorise computers that I no longer have access to?

I'm not aware of anyway to see a list of your authorised computers. Have you had other computers in the past and/or updated or reinstalled the OS on those that you still have without first deauthorising them ?  Individual computers can only be deauthorised directly on them, but when you've reached the 5 computer limit then you can log into your account and 'deauthorise all' (which you can do once every 12 months) and you can then authorise/reauthorise the computers that you still have and need : authorising and deauthorising.

  • HT201303 how can I authorize another computer to have access to my account?

how can I authorize a new macbook to download my itunes songs?  Says I'm not authorized

    Authorization and Deauthorization
Macs:  iTunes Store- About authorization and deauthorization.
Windows: How to Authorize or Deauthorize iTunes | PCWorld.
In iTunes you use the Authorize This Computer or De-authorize This Computer option under the Store menu in iTunes' menubar. For Windows use the ALT-S keys to access it. Or turn on Windows 7 and 8 iTunes menus: iTunes- Turning on iTunes menus in Windows 8 and 7.
More On De-authorizing Computers (contributed by user John Galt)
You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
      1. Open iTunes on a computer
      2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
      3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
      4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
      5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.

  • TS2529 My calendar cleared on it's on, how can I restore it? I have not backed up my iPad....oops!

My calendar cleared itself. I have not backed up my iPad....can I restore the calendar?? how???
    Thx!

First of all have your friend restore the iPad as a new device and wipe it clean for you. Or on the iPad go to Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content and Settings and this will erase everything from the iPad.
You can create your own iTunes account on your computer or on the iPad. Read this.

  • How can I retrieve messages if I have not backed up

I accidentally deleted a contacts text messages that I need. How can I get them back if I haven't backed up.

As far as I know, if you do not backup your pictures, it is hard to recover for an iPhone 4S. Its a hardware limitation. So how about your iCloud storage.

  • HOW CAN I DEAUTHORISE A COMPUTER WHICH IS NO LONGER FUNCTIONAL?

In another archived response to this question on Jan 14, 2013,, AnaMusic wrote:
"If you no longer have, or access to, the computer(s) you want to deauthorise,  Log in to iTunes,  go to "view your account info" on the itunes store, deauthorise all five, (Please Note: this can only be done Once every 12 months)  and then re-authorize your current Computer(s) one at a time."
When I log into iTunes, there is no link for "View your account info."  The closest thing I can find to that is under QuickLinks, simply "Account".  This brings me to a new window "Account Information."  But, there is no link whatsoever for authorizing or de-authorizing anything.  It tells me that one computer is authorized, with no option for editing that info.
I use iMac, Mountain Lion 10.8.3.  Recently, I had to replace my hard drive, which was using Tiger.  I was not told whether the old hard drive was deauthorized, but I would presume that this is done.  I had music purchased from iTunes on the old hard drive, as well as some money in my account, both of which were not carried forward for some reason.

You need to use the Store drop-down menu at the top of iTunes, not the iTunes store home page - there should be View My Apple ID option on that drop-down menu

  • HT1420 How can I deauthorize a computer that is not hooked up

I am new to Mac's. While I do have iphone and iPad I am trying to learn to navigate this Computer and having trouble hooking up my iTunes. It says I have to deactivate one computer but the only one I would like to deactivate is the olod one which is not hooked up. What should I do to fix this?

You cannot deauthorize a computer that you do not have access to.
You would have to deauthorize all, then authorize the active computers.

  • My safari browser is version 4.1.3 and started to crash often. How can I fix it so it does not crash anymore?.

    Hello there,
I have G4 Ibook with the following specifications:  serial number 4H5290VTS87 and upgraded to MacOSX TIGER. My Safari browser is version 4.1.3. Started to crash I do not know why. So far I got a new browser "TenFourFox" and is working great with no crashing at all but I would like to get back to Safari if I can because run everything faster and smoother.
I have tried the disk utility application to find out if my system needed to be repair something inside and is working good nothing needed to be repair, I even put the installation disk to run disk utility and it show me all is working fine but it did make the computer run faster for sure except safari browser keeps crashing so I quit safari and decided to find different browser until I find through you what I can do to fix it, if I can not fix it then I will continue with the new browser.
My impression so far is the operation system can not be upgraded more therefore this version of safari can not be upgrade either. Please let me know.
    Fernando

You could get and use a browser built on a custom version of Mozilla code
    that would run OK in OS X Tiger 10.4.11 as well as OS X Leopard 10.5.8;
however this one does not directly support Flash plugins, so web content
relying on that function will not work. Otherwise, if you get the version for
your series of processor (PowerPC G4 shows two versions in download)
that can do well enough for most casual browsing w/ some security.
    •TenFourFox:
    http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox/
Another browser that should be available for use in Tiger & Leopard, is
iCab; this will run freely but is shareware and a prompt will appear on a
re-occuring basis like a fade-in/fade-out image, asking you to buy it.
There are a few features in iCab that set it apart from others, it is OK.
    •iCab - Internet Browser - Downloads: (for Tiger 10.4, note v. iCab 4.9)
    http://www.icab.de/dl.php
If you contact the main Apple number, (800MYAPPLE) some users had
been able to ask for an operating system specialist, provide a serial
number for their Mac computer, have method of payment handy, and
the lucky ones were able to order a "Replacement OS X 10.4 DVD" or
a "Replacement OS X 10.5 DVD" from Apple directly. These are White-
Label, and should work across several models of PPC (G4/G5) Mac
to install a complete basic OS X, in the supported hardware, and be
good to use as a means to upgrade to the last supported OS X for PPC.
If your iBook has a processor less than 867MHz speed, it would not be
able to be upgraded past Tiger 10.4.11; if it has a cpu faster than that,
it should be able to use the OS X 10.5 system install DVD.
So if you are among a lucky few, you may be able to order Apple disc(s)
direct from an expert, the system replacement discs with white label. For
the older Macs as noted above (and when available) had a cost of about
$20 per each. There may be an additional shipping fee, but still if you can
get either one or both OS X versions on Apple media, that's a deal.
About the Safari 4.x browser, crash. Had you repaired disk permisssions
in the system by use of Disk Utility? I'd safe-boot startup first, repair disk
permissions, then restart to see if it helps. You may also be able to get
a replacement download of the same old Safari browser from Support
online, should there be a need to, in the course of troubleshooting it.
    http://support.apple.com/downloads/#safari old version download page
You can use Safari to assign another browser to be system default, so
a different one will launch (see Safari prefs) instead of older Safari. I
have SeaMonkey for PPC (works in OS X 10.5) set as default.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • How can I use findmyiphone when I have not installed icloud?

I lost my iphone, and when I went to my wife's iphone to find it using findmyiphone, it won't let me find it without an icloud account.  Of course, I can't get an icloud account without my iphone.  Catch-22; I did what I was supposed to do to find the phone if it got lost, it got lost, and I can't find it without the phone.
Is there anything I can do?

Assuming you setup/activated Find My Phone, on your phone, BEFORE it was lost/stolen, and it is turned on & your phone connected to the Internet, you can login to iCloud.com, from any computer & hopefully locate your phone. You can use the Find My Phone app to do the same using an iOS device.

To copy the configuration of one iPhone to another, first connect the older phone and create a backup of the phone. Then connect the new phone and restore it using the backup of the older phone.

  • I have a new iPod Touch, so how can I deauthorise my "old" iPod Touch before giving it to my brother or husband?

I have a new iPod Touch, so how can I deauthorise my "old" iPod Touch, before giving it to my brother or husband?
    Thank you.

Are you just trying to deauthorize it from your iTunes account, or do you want to totally erase it?
Your iPod touch is not actually authorized to anything other than the computer you sync it with; it is not authorized with the iTunes store the way your computer is. Giving your iPod to someone else won't give them your store info. Once they plug it into their own iTunes, it will force them to erase the whole thing in order to sync it with their own computer.
If you want to wipe the thing clean before giving it to them, plug it into your computer and choose the option to Restore it. (Or on the device itself, to go Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.)
