TS2972 my old computer crashed, i have lost my ipod... is there any way to get my itunes library back?

Help!!! My old TOshiba laptop crashed.  2 experts have said it is unsalvageable, even the data... something about the plates are scratched up.  now i have a new hp laptop, but it won't be as easy as transferring via the ipod.. because i lost the ipod...  Please help me get my investment back!

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.
