TS3048 Bluetooth keyboard failure

Same day failure of Bluetooth keyboard vs. IPad.
After going through 3 sets of batteries, and verifying the failure with another "older" Bluetooth keyboard of the same make and model.
Pushed the power button as I have hundreds of times prior.
Green LED stays on for 4 seconds, then goes out never to return till I do it again, then the same exact response.
Not sure what the failure is, but if I press and hold the power button, it will flag the process of pairing,  but it will not pair due to the lack of its ability to stay on for a sufficient amount of time.
I suspect the segment that allows for the device (battery sense) detects insufficient battery life and thus drops it like yesterday's news paper.
Please advise and thank you.

Hello:
Reset the SMC.
If that does not help, take in back in for service.

  • Bluetooth keyboard failure

For a while now my Apple Bluetooth keyboard would drop its connection occasionally. Now it has stopped completely.
The batteries have been changed, the power light indicator lights up, Caps Lock key lights up, but the Bluetooth software on the Mac mini cannot find the keyboard despite the fact that it can find other bluetooth devices.
Is this a known problem? Or is this just my particular keyboard?

    Hello m:
Probably your keyboard. You could try trashing a preference file (com.apple.bluetooth.plist) and restarting to see if that helps in any way.
You could also reset the PRAM:

  • TS3048 I am usng a bluetooth keyboard with my Mac and some of the keys are not working.  They are the numbers 1 through  9.  I have gone through the troubleshooting for mouse and keyboard and everything looks good. How can I get them to work again?

Hi,  I am using a Mac computer that my husband set up.  I have worked on it recently with no problems.  Today, I am having problems with the bluetooth keyboard not  working properly.  The numbers 1 through 9 do not work.  I have gone through troubleshooting wireless mouse and keyboard issues and everything looks good.  Except, when I check the keys on the keyboard viewer, these keys still do not work.  The webpage guides me through and at this point I do not know what to do next, because the keyboard is still not working properly.  I sure hope there are some experienced people in the community to help me.  What should I do?

    Hi:
I wish my suggestion had gotten you further.
I do suggest you try to connect the keyboard again.  The request for a number is a step in it trying to pair.  If it gets by the number, it sometimes takes a little while to get connected.  If you are unable to get it connected and want a new one, I have been using Apple Bluetooth keyboards for years - and I like them. The one I have (the newest model) only uses two batteries and is very thin.
Speaking of batteries, if you are not already doing so, you might consider rechargeables.  I have a drawer full of them and use a 15 minute charger.  I go tired of buying batteries and rechargeables are environmentally friendly to boot. At the moment, I use 2450 mAh Energizers and a 15 minute Energizer charger (all purchased new on eBay at a very reasonable price).
I am far from an iPad "expert," although I have one.  If my suggestion below does not help, post your question in a separate thread in the iPad forum.
I had a terrible time syncing my iCal on my Mac with my iPad iCal (confusing - hopefully it makes sense).  I quit using iCloud as that added to the confusion. There is a facility to one-time sync items.  When you connect your computer to your iPad, iTunes opens.  The system begins a process (automatic backup and so on). After it finishes, you can click on "info."  At the bottom of the screen, there is an advanced section.  You can select any of the items and then force it to sync. The iCal information from your computer would be deposited on the iPad.
After all that, I do not use a Google calendar so the information may be worthless to you.
If you want to reset the iPad to factory settings, you can do that when it is connected to iTunes (one of the options).  Me being me, I try never to erase anything.

  • Rocketfish Bluetooth Keyboard RF-BTKB2 not working under Windows 7 64 bit

Rocketfish Bluetooth Keyboard RF-BTKB2 not working under Windows 7 64 bit
Anyone had successs in this or another Bluetooth Keyboard after a bit of a struggle?  What did you do to get it working?  When I Add Device in Bluetooth it sees the keyboard but enlessly scans for it when I try to select and connect.  The Rocketfish Bluetooth mouse worked just fine.

My friend, i have both, the bluetooth mouse and keyboard here that your talking about. and the keyboard was a struggle to pair with the windows 7 64 bit.... i think i spent 2 days working with it. and i didnt try anything special, i just kept trying to pair
it, and unplugging the dongle and working with it... and after a while. it worked... Lately though, i have been looking into getting a wired mouse and keyboard becuase of the delays and sleep time i have with my current keyboard(rocketfish). supposidly there
is a way around the delays but it disables all the options on your keyboard. IE the media buttons, and web browsing features. and my mouse keeps dieing off too....
Also, after researching these products more, i found that alot of people experienced similar problems with them, Being delays and mouse failure. Even with fresh batteries and all. The products werent meant to be used long term(2-3 years) for extensive use...
I dont know about you but i thinki paid 100 bucks for the pair so thats only 25 bucks a year... Which is kinda silly considering i coulda got a better one that wont cough up on me.
If anyone reading this finds a good wireless keyboard that doesnt delay, and a mouth that doesnt delay...(my biggest concern). Please mention it. i am very interested in.

  • Logitech bluetooth keyboard stopped pairing w/ MacBookPro

My Logitech K760 bluetooth keyboard paired/worked great until roughly June 2014, but ever since then it won't fully pair.  When I attempt to connect it seems successful until the end of the process when you're asked to enter a series of numbers to fully connect the keyboard.   It either keeps spinning and never connects, or after a minute it times out and says the pairing attempt was unsuccessful.
I've had multiple tech support calls with Logitech and the best they can tell me is that there must have been a "program update" on Apple's end that changed the keyboard's ability to connect.  I CAN connect just fine to my iphone 5 and my ipad, so I know the keyboard is fully operational.
My MBP is mid-2009 running on OS X 10.6.8 (I'd previously upgraded to Mountain Lion and my hard drive failed. When serviced by Genius Bar I was told not to upgrade past Snow Leopard on my replacement hard drive since it wouldn't be able to handle a higher OS, and the upgrade is actually what caused my hard drive failure).
Any suggestions or idea would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you!

I got the same issue with my son's imac today. Tried everything as you have, inc pairing with my macbook. It recognised the keyboard as an other device but would not pair

  • Wireless/Bluetooth Keyboard - last battery stuck inside

I now have 3 of these keyboards ... the
    small wireless bluetooth keyboards that
unscrew on the end and take 3 AA batteries
...  and now two of them have the last
battery stuck in the end of the unit,
either stuck, frozen, rusted, corroded and
there seems to be absolutely no way to
convince the little bugger to exit.
I even went so far as to squirt WD-40
inside around the stuck battery, let it
soak in and try to decellerate it out the
opening by slamming it against a doubled
    over mousepad. No luck.
Since I have a 66% failure rate on these
things, I would guess that some other
people might be having this problem as
well and may even have thought up a
    solution to it.  Anyone ???

I JUST got my batter out!  Wd-40 did the trick for me.  I had to spray it a few times--the last one being quite heavy, as I figured it was my last shot before giving up and just tossing it.  Lo and behold, with just about 10 hard bangs, I noticed it started getting closer to the opening (very slight).  Before long, it was totally out.  Now, I'm using a hair dryer to dry it out.  Looks like the bottom came loose a little--will reply if the keyboard still works!  Debating whether or not to try new batteries so soon or let it sit for a few days.  The anticipation will probably kill me...

  • Bluetooth keyboard and magic pad doesn't work after sleep

This only recently developed, once my 2013 iMac goes into sleep mode, when I tap the keyboard to wake it up to put in my security password, the bluetooth keyboard doesn't work.  Also, the track pad shows no point, i.e. I have a sign in screen, but can't sign it.

  • Bluetooth keyboard no longer recognized by iMac

My Bluetooth keyboard has suddenly stopped working - it doesn't show up in BT preferences, nor in the dropdown BT menu. When I attempt to add a new BT device, the keyboard is recognised by its name (the one it has always had), but attempts to pair it always fail.
I have reset the SMC to no effect.
The green light doesn't flash while I'm attempting the pairing - I don't know whether it should or not.
BT seems flaky - sometimes it offers me a code for the pairing, but usually not. I've tried to pair it about thirty times in all.
I don't understand why the keyboard doesn't show up in the BT preferences, since its name is recognised when I attempt to pair it. Since its name doesn't show up in BT preferences, I obviously can't delete it from there and start afresh.
    All help gratefully received.

Update: I have solved the problem as follows.
1 I changed the name of the BT keyboard - I don't know if this relevant or not.
2 I took the keyboard out of range of my iMac by taking in down into my basement - when I did so and switched it on down there, the green light started to flash, indicating that it was now in pairing mode. Previously, when my keyboard was close to my iMac, the green light had not flashed.
3 I came back upstairs to my iMac, and BT setup recognised the keyboard under its new name.
4 BT setup then gave me the 8-digit pass code, which I entered, and the pairing was completed successfully.
So it seems that re-enabling the pairing mode can be achieved by taking the BT device out of range of the home computer, and once the BT device has established its pairing mode/status, the process works as it should. If this is correct, it may be of help to others with a similar problem.

  • How do I get my "play" button to work on my bluetooth keyboard?

I am using a Mid 2010 21.5" iMac running Mountain Lion. I recently had my HDD replaced by Apple because of the recent 1TB Segate Drive recall and now I cannot use my pause/play, skip, and back buttons on my apple wireless keyboard. I can use them as function keys but nothing else. I can change the brightness and change the sound using the keyboard but I cannot skip or pause a song or video or anything like that except for using a mouse and clicking on the next button or using my iPhone as a remote which only goes so far. I have tried using multiple programs, iTune, DVD Player, VLC Player and all are not able to be controlled by the keyboard and yes I made sure this programs were on top. This also holds true for expose. I am sure this simply has to be a simple setting somewhere but I am not sure where it would be. The only like setting that I saw was looking for was changing it so I need to use the function button every time I want to use a function like the sound or expose. I tried with this both on and off but can't get it to recognize the play functions. I have updated my bluetooth keyboard firmware but no luck. I have also changed the batteries twice to verify this was not the issue.
