Apple Bluetooth keyboard won't pair with new iPad mini

I have same results. I have an ipad mini and it will not pair with my apple keyboard. I bought a mini keyboard with bluetooth 3.0 and it will not pair either.  Is my ipad defective?  Or do i need a keyboard with bluetooth 4.0?  Also - the mini keypad will pair with my ipad2 and my iphone 4.  Only difference I can find is the ipad mini has bluetooth 4.0.  Seems it should be downward compatible but maybe not.. • Yosemite install won't boot into any mode

Really sorry if this has been covered before but I spent a good time searching and couldn't find any existing posts with symptoms to the same extent.
I've got a 2008 iMac 27" and have the latest version of Yosemite installed (10.10.1 I guess). I upgraded to Yosemite probably 2-3 weeks ago and everything has been fine. Then yesterday when I woke it up from sleep it effectively froze - no mouse or keyboard input. So I did a reset by holding down the power button, and when I turned it back on it went to the apple logo boot screen with a progress bar that gets to just below 50% and stuck there. I've restarted quite a few times and left it running up to six hours and still it doesn't boot.
Now this is similar to the issue here - OSX Yosemite won't boot after install on mid 2010 iMac - except I am unable to boot into any mode, and the only startup keys accepted are the P-RAM reset. It won't boot into recovery mode (command+R), safe mode (Shift), startup drive select mode (Option), diagnostics mode (D)... nothing
I've booked into a Genius Bar appointment when the Apple stores reopen after Christmas, but I'm hoping that is a last resort and to be honest I'm unsure what they can do for me except to say it's a lost cause.
Are there any suggestions on what could be happening and why it's ignoring the startup modes? I would have suggested the keyboard not being recognised except the P-RAM command works perfectly, so it's obviously seeing it. I'm a little scared that because it won't let me into a boot device menu (which must operate independent of any HDD) then there's an issue ahead of that in the boot sequence, so possibly the motherboard is shot...
Sorry if I seem a little desperate. I had a HDD crash two years ago to the day (great Christmas present Apple) and it kind of puts a dampener on things.
Happy holidays and I'm grateful for any help that anyone can offer

  • My ipod won't go into disk mode

i've tried and tried and it won't go into disk mode. it shows an apple then a folder with the ! and when plugged into the computer sometimes it'll say don't disconnnect for about 10 seconds and then it'll go back to the apple.
also it sounds as though the drive is stuck in a loop; a weird repetitive whirring sound when i hold it up to my ear.

If you can't get it into disk mode and restore the iPod it most likely needs service, especially with that noise it's making.

  • My iPod classic won't go into disk mode

I have an iPod Classic (120GB) here. When I turn it on, it gives me a screen with the Apple logo first and after a few seconds a screen with a red circle, a cross in the circle and the text: www.apple.com/support/ipod . I followed all the steps on that page, however my iPod won't go into disk mode. The iPod is not seen by my iMac and iTunes. What to do?

  • Laserjet m276nw won't go into eco mode

    Hi all,
For some reason my new printer won't go into eco mode. I've doubled checked the settings and even though it's idle for days the touch console is always on and it never enters sleep mode.
Any idea how to fix this? I've checked the settings via the Web interface and the touch console and they both have this mode enabled. I'm afraid if this keeps up it'll burn in the console UI and use a lot of electricity.
    Thanks.

    Hi @Mkakers,
I understand that you are having issues with the printer not going into sleep mode. I would like to help you resolve this issue.
Make sure the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (don't use a power hub or a surge protector) This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.
I have provided the menus for the sleep modes, just to double check the settings again. This information was provided by the manual on page 139. LASERJET PRO 200 COLOR MFP.
    Set the sleep delay:
    1. From the Home screen, touch the Setup button.
    2. Open the following menus:
    ● System Setup
    ● Energy Settings
    ● Sleep Delay
    3. Select the time for the sleep delay.
NOTE: The default value is 15 minutes.
Set the Auto Power Down delay:
    1. From the Home screen, touch the Setup button.
    2. Open the following menus:
    ● System Setup
    ● Energy Settings
    ● Auto Power Down
    ● Power Down Delay
Update the printer's firmware if the issue continues. HP LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276nw Drivers.

  • OS X Lion 10.8.2 won't boot into recovery mode

Help! OS X Lion 10.8.2 won't boot into recovery mode, I get a grey screen, the apple icon and the spinning symbol...Does anyone have any suggestions?
Have a MacBook Pro (2009) and had no problems until upgrading to LIon from Snow Leopard... thanks!

Hi there - thanks very much for your suggestion, it did reboot eventually but took a long time to get there.
I've have run Disk Utility. After Verifying the disk it said it needed Repairing - so tried doing that and got the message " Error: Utility can't repair this disk. Back up as many of your files as possible, reformat the disk, and restore your backed-up files" I have got Time Machine but haven't backed-up since Dec 12...Can I use "Restore" to copy the MBP HD to an external HD and then re-install Lion?

  • Bluetooth keyboard won't allow iMac to sleep.

Since installing Leopard I have an annoying problem with my 24" aluminum iMac. I have an Apple bluetooth keyboard and mouse (the new slimline keyboard). When I put my iMac to sleep, it will sometimes spontaneously wake up some time later.
This can be between 2 minutes or 45 minutes later. When it wakes up, it displays the 'keyboard connection lost' graphic.
I believe that this is caused by the keyboard going into low-power mode, and it behaves the same as disconnecting a USB device, which would also wake the mac.
I have disconnected all other peripherals and only when I use a wired keyboard does the problem go away.
It sometimes behaves normally and won't wake until I press a key, at which point the keyboard is instantly responsive. On the occasions when it wakes itself, the keyboard takes a few key presses before it starts responding. Battery life is showing as 3 green bars.
Does anyone have any ideas? Its such a shame that a useful feature like sleep has now become unusable.
    Andy.

Andy, I don't have any ideas to help but I wanted to let you know that my new wireless keyboard and iMac don't have the problem you're experiencing. I wonder if there's some kind of interference that causes the loss of bluetooth connectivity, but then again why just the keyboard and not the mouse? Could you possibly exchange the keyboard for a new one or try using a friend's wireless keyboard to see if there's something wrong with your keyboard?

  • My iPhone won't go into sleep mode after bluetooth pairing

I've recently acquired a Parrot MiniKit Neo (a bluetooth remote dialer) and after I paired it with my iPhone 4S / iOS 6, this one does not enter in sleep mode anymore (the brightness of the screen down after 50 seconds and after 10 seconds more, it wakes up automatically instead to go into sleep mode).
Reset my iPhone (holding power + home button) solved this problem until I've paired again my iPhone with MiniKit.
I didn't tried another bluetooth devices like headset.

I've checked through my apps, I can't seem to find anything that would cause this. For some apps that have internet access I've turned them off.
I tried going into Activity Monitor and quitting all the running processes, including those for Finder and stuff, most of these system processes starts up again. But even when I have quit everything that I can quit, the computer won't sleep.
I've tried disconnecting the internet, unplugging all my extras and shutting off Time Machine, but still insomnia. I've tried logging into the guest account but still insomnia.
I went to Macintosh HD>Library>Preferences>System Configuration and deleted the com.apple.PowerManagement and the com.apple.AutoWake.plist, rebooting and testing. But still insomnia. I've also deleted the User>Library>Preferences>com.apple.systemuiserver.plist file, and still no succes.
I've removed all the widgets, removed all startup items, and still no success.
It's not really a big issue, but the fact that I can't find the cause is driving me crazy!

  • Apple Bluetooth Keyboard Won't Power On

I bought the new fancy small Bluetooth Keyboard and it worked great for a few months. The batteries dies, and now it wont turn on (with new batteries). I have reseated the batteried, used new ones, etc. (I am a former tech support guy, so i am relatively good with this stuff still). Still won't turn on.
I tried to call support, but I am a military member in Italy and all of Apples 800 numbers wont work for me. Any suggestions on a non-800 number? I tried to use the form to request support for my SN/: 3374MGZ1001WA and it just doesnt work in the form. It says invalid. This is the number right under the battery cylinder.
I need to get this replaced, and actually have to use my warranty for a change... but I can't seem to get to support. Any ideas?
