I wish my suggestion had gotten you further.
I do suggest you try to connect the keyboard again. The request for a number is a step in it trying to pair. If it gets by the number, it sometimes takes a little while to get connected. If you are unable to get it connected and want a new one, I have been using Apple Bluetooth keyboards for years - and I like them. The one I have (the newest model) only uses two batteries and is very thin.
Speaking of batteries, if you are not already doing so, you might consider rechargeables. I have a drawer full of them and use a 15 minute charger. I go tired of buying batteries and rechargeables are environmentally friendly to boot. At the moment, I use 2450 mAh Energizers and a 15 minute Energizer charger (all purchased new on eBay at a very reasonable price).
I am far from an iPad "expert," although I have one. If my suggestion below does not help, post your question in a separate thread in the iPad forum.
I had a terrible time syncing my iCal on my Mac with my iPad iCal (confusing - hopefully it makes sense). I quit using iCloud as that added to the confusion. There is a facility to one-time sync items. When you connect your computer to your iPad, iTunes opens. The system begins a process (automatic backup and so on). After it finishes, you can click on "info." At the bottom of the screen, there is an advanced section. You can select any of the items and then force it to sync. The iCal information from your computer would be deposited on the iPad.
After all that, I do not use a Google calendar so the information may be worthless to you.
If you want to reset the iPad to factory settings, you can do that when it is connected to iTunes (one of the options). Me being me, I try never to erase anything.

That can sometimes be caused by a damaged ipod photo cache.
If you remove the current ipod photo cache, does that get you past the error?

Hi, I am using a Mac computer that my husband set up. I have worked on it recently with no problems. Today, I am having problems with the bluetooth keyboard not working properly. The numbers 1 through 9 do not work. I have gone through troubleshooting wireless mouse and keyboard issues and everything looks good. Except, when I check the keys on the keyboard viewer, these keys still do not work. The webpage guides me through and at this point I do not know what to do next, because the keyboard is still not working properly. However, I cannot find the "Apple Software Update" program either from Start -> All Programs or the Control Panel. I am running Windows XP, Service Pack 3. I would appreciate any additional guidance you have. -

I can't scroll up or down with the mouse wheel
My mouse wheel won't scroll in Firefox, but it works for every other program (including IE, don't make me go back to that!). I have downloaded the latest driver for my mouse and also tried changing the config in "mousewheel.withnokey". I never had this problem then suddenly it just happened, but only in Firefox. Any ideas?

The solution I found: go to "Control Panel/Mouse/Wheel" (I have here some Lenovo application).
The first option "Wheel" on the tab has 2 choices: "Enable Universal Scrolling" (default) and "Use Microsoft Office 97 Scrolling Emulation Only". If I switch to 2nd option, then scrolling works in Firefox. Since Firefox is the only application that has a problem, I keep the 1st option, but add Firefox to "Exceptions" list. Now scrolling works fine. -

Do this. Go to Apple Menu / System Preferences / Bluetooth. In the pane that comes up next, check the box on the bottom left "Show Bluetooth in menu bar". Close the pane.
Now click (on the top of the screen to the right) the Bluetooth symbol. In the drop down move the cursor to Bluetooth Mouse. You will see two choices. Select Open Mouse Preferences.
In this pane you can change the way the mouse behaves. Set it up for your convenience. You can go experiment with the settings until you are happy with what you have. All you need to do is to go to the Bluetooth symbol in the menu bar to get the to the settings. -
Scroll down with the mouse while the crop tool window is open
I would like to know if there is a way to scroll down with the mouse while the crop tool window is open, like in Acrobat 5.0. If not with the mouse, is there another shortcut to go through the pages and adjust the size of the crop and see it on different pages? Thanks!

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of this test is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account. Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault in OS X 10.7 or later, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The "Guest User" login created by "Find My Mac" is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing. -
I Can't seem to be able to download (or update) any apps on IOS 8.0, and I have been able to download apps on IOS 7 and IOS 6. I have 5.2 GB of available space on my iPad (4th generation) and I have only used 7.1 GB on my 16GB ipad. I have a full two bars of Internet. Again I have been able to download things with two bars in the past using IOS 7 and IOS 6. Any suggestions would be helpful. =3 Sorry for the incorrect spelling
You might try just waiting. There are millions of people activating their iPhones today and people still trying to get iOS8, so the servers are swamped. I'd give it a couple of days and if it still doesn't work then try some troubleshooting.

Ipad2, I can not sign in to imessage after turning it off and doing a hard reboot. Upon entering my info it states no network connection, but I can use it o surf in Safari and iter websites. Any suggestions. Went on with Apple, they think its my network. All other wireless equipment can ign on without problems. This happened after I turned imessage off.

HELP!!!! My Hotmail no longer works with Safari v. 5.0.6 and my Imac Leopard operating system 10.5.8. Please help me with any suggestions on what to do. Thank you. I cannot find any new downloads for Safari that work with Leopard. The newest ones only work with Lion. My Firefox browser still works though but I would rather use Safari and cannot access any e-mails or send any e-mails via Safari. Can you help me on something? I restored my iPod and everything I had was gone. (What I Wanted) But then when I looked at my Usage It said I only have 22.5 GB Available and I Used 6.0 But I didn't. I also looked at my Backup storage and it still had all of my backup from before I restored. I deleted all my backup because it said I used all of my Backup Available. And now when I try and backup it says there is no more room or whatever to backup and Its 5/5.

Try Restoring it 3 times in a row and see if that works.
If not that error can indicate one of two things: Your iPhone was at one time jailbroken, had the iOS version rolled back, or ran an unauthorized beta and if none of those things are true it is a hardware error.
