TS3048 My wireless keyboard does not turn on. Yes batteries are new and installed correctly

I don't know why my wireless keyboard is not working. I can't sign onto my computer.  Installed new batteries and yes they are installed correctly.  I'm wondering if maybe it doesn't work anymore. It's only a couple of years old!

Hi, Mike.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I understand that your keyboard is not functioning.  Here is a troubleshooting article that I would recommend going through for this.

  • Wireless keyboard does not work after waking up from idle

After MacBook Air went to sleep, wireless keyboard does not properly connect to MacBook - I can wake the MacBook up, but meaningless numbers are sent, and I cannot type in my password. Have to "open" MacBook, and use keys - disconnect and re-connect wireless keyboard. I also use Magic Mouse and it works flawlessly. Problem is small but annoying. Any help?

Wiped our old iPad 1 clean, now can't install iOS from iTunes using laptop PC (W Vista).  iTunes does not "see" the device.  Tried uninstalling and installing iTunes on laptop.  Also bought new USB cable.  The iPad is charging, but that's all it does.  Just want to get it operating again for browsing and e-reading.

OK.  You merely erased the content and settings.  The IOS is still there.
If it has NEVER been jailbroke, here are some standard repair procedures.  From what you've already stated, my guess is that you'll end up with Recovery Mode described in the last paragraph.
First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again.  Also, read this.

  • Windows XP SP 3 does not recognize HP Scanjet 3770 after downloading and installing driver

    Hello !
I have a second hand HP Scanjet 3770 scanner.
After downloading and installing driver there is only 1 icon on my desktop - Image Zone.
There is not icon of HP Director software, neither on desktop nor in C:\Program files\HP folder
Windows XP SP 3 does not recognize HP Scanjet 3770 after downloading and installing driver (Image Zone software)
There is another scanning HP device installed on the same computer - all-in-one HP Photosmart C 4280
What I have to do ?
    Thank you !

Some things that pop in my head- your CD/DVD drive may need cleaning (laser eye). There are discs to do this or you can use a cotton swab sometimes to wipe the laser. OR- the last recovery may have been the last fatal strain on the CD/DVD drive and it is now not functioning. Maybe you could borrow the drive from the other Dv4 and try it- or  borrow/buy a USB CD/DVD drive to try.

  • Wireless keyboard does not work with Safari.

Space bar does not work when using Apple Wireless Keyboard with Safari to fill web forms.
    No problem with Firefox.
    Early 2008 iMac, 10.10.1, 6GB Ram

Im going to assume you are using the Apple Wireless Keyboard with your devices.
Whats probabaly happening is both of your devices are trying to connect to your keyboard at the same time and it is causing it to not function properly.
I suggest you disable bluetooth on the device you AREN'T using and try it again with the one you ARE using.
If this doesn't solve your issue, try re-pairing the keyboard with the iPad you wish to use it with. It may have just not made a strong connection.
    Hope these suggestions help!

  • TS3048 Original wireless keyboard is not recognized from mini/lion

Magic mouse is working with newly installed Lion, but while the original wireless keyboard is recognized the Mini fails to connect to it.  The keyboard was originally installed with Leopard.

Both replies were helpful. I've not joined this support group before and didn't navigate very well. I marked that both comments were helpful. I thought I could provide more than 1 feedback for each (wrong) and should have indicated that icrouton corrected the problem. I SHOULD have recalled from set up (although a friend set up the computer this time - usually, I have done so historically) that there is an on/off on the keyboard. Icrouton's comment mentioned it, so I looked again -I found it and clicked it. Now, things seem fine. It is discretely located and I don't see how I could have accidentally turned it off, but, at any rate, thanks to both of you for very helpful information and VERY promptly submitted, too.

  • Wireless keyboard does not auto setup with a mac mini

I have just bought a mac mini and am trying to set it up, the only keyboard I have is the apple wireless keyboard. I have switched the Mac on and it finds the "magictrack pad" but does not seem to find the key board. The keyboard light flashes for the the 3 minutes looking for something to pair with - I have managed to pair it with my iPad (and remove the pairing - afterwards) but it does not auto-pair with the "new" Mac. The problem is that I cannot go any further (to allow me to complete the full setup procedure) without filling in the information that is required and I cannot fill in the information required without a keyboard. I do not have a USB (or any other keyboard) so I seem to be a little stuck. - Any ideas would be gratefully received.
Is there any way of connecting a PC laptop to the Mac Mini and use the keyboard on the PC?

Not sure what your process was but try this.
Make sure the Mini is off. Hold down the button
on the keyboard to make sure it is off.   Next
start the Mini and as soon as you hear the
start up chime, press the power button on the
keyboard.  Be sure not to press any other keys.
For what ever reason, timing is critical with the
keyboard pairing at boot time.  This is only an
issue when doing things that require a keyboard
at boot.  Once paired, it connects fine when normally
    booting.

  • Ok so I got my mac mini today and I am trying to set it up but my wireless keyboard does not sync up. I have tried entering the code that the mini displays but still cannot get past the sync keyboard screen. Since I dont have a wired keyboard ...any ideas

Happy Thanksgiving. Any ideas on how to sync up a brand new man mini with a wireless keyboard. My attempts at following the directions have been frustated so far. Entering the numerical code has not yet led to a successful sync up.

    Alright, very good.

  • Wireless keyboard does not work

both my wireless mouse and keyboard had stopped working. I rebooted and the mouse started working but the keyboard is still not working.

Check to ensure that the batteries in the mouse and keyboard are not flat. It sounds as from your description that it may be the case with the keyboard or that you need to reconnect the keyboard to the wireless dongle.
You have not specified whether your wireless keyboard and mouse are HP or aftermarket. It would help if you did that.

  • Wireless keyboard does not pair

    Hi,
I paired successfully a keyboard to an iMac awhile ago and then I couldn't get it work for a reason I don't know and let it go.
Now Ineed this wireless keyboard for another computer and I would like to try once again to make it work.
    Here's my problem :
Ther keyboard is recognized by the bluetooth assistant (with my name by the way). Then I get the code to enter and then the pairing fails. And I know I have to press the enter key ! My batteries are ok (green light). I have tried on a friend(s computer, same thing and the keyboard is also recognized with my name on his machine. Is there a way to globally reset this keyboard and start from the beginning ?
Any idea would be welcome !

    Hello p:
    Welcome to Apple discussions.
Try trashing a preference file and restarting (com.apple.bluetooth.plist).
I would also reset the PRAM:
