My wireless mouse cursor occasionally disappears - can this be prevented?
Where do you use it. On a desk, a mousepad? Is the mouse pad a solid dark colour? If you have some plain black cloth, try it on that.

Same problem here (no graphics in header or footer) and the problem has been reported months ago. It is another bug/feature lost when Apple moves from 09 to the iCloud-compatible versions. Complain to Apple, you may have better chance than me and they may finally listen to their users....

If a site is hacked or infected, the best course of action is to immediately stop using it. On the other hand, it seems to be working fine for me. You may be having a problem with some extension that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all extension s (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal? -
Sometimes after I have deleted received messages from my iPad they are resend so they appear again in my inbox. Can this be prevented?

Select the iTunes Store on the left side of iTunes.

Reading the limitations mentioned in the first paragraph I would never trust Apple to permanently keep a copy of your purchases. Once you get them on your iPad immediately download them to your computer and then also to your backup drive. -
my wireless mouse is not working at all. I have changed the batteries and still nothing, not even a flashing green light. I am using someone else's computer to ask these questions as I now can't use mine. Help!!!
I just had the same problem. And I found the solution, on Youtube.
The problem is that these ******** at apple designed the battery compartement, the distance between metal contacts too big.
That means the batteries plus or minus poles are not touching the corresponding contacts in the mouses battery compartement.
Most likely the battery doesn't get pushed up to touch the plus contacts.
I used a fingernail to push the battery up and tadaa, the green LED came on.
The guy in the Youtube video just put some folded aluminium foil under the minus poles for bridging the gap.

My wireless mouse has stopped working after I recharged the batteries,the green light does not come on. I swapped the batteries from the mouse to my wireless keyboard and they work fine in the keyboard.What can I do?

Mouse cursor keeps disappearing in 10.9
Several times my mouse cursor has just danced off the screen totally, like it has a mind of it's own. Then the screen is frozen, I can't use shortcuts to save and I'm forced to hit the power button to shut down since the keyboard shortcuts won't work. Then when I restart the computer my external drive doesn't show up, so I have to use the the disk utility to repair permissions on my main drive. This iMac is only 2 months old. What is going on with the gremlin cursor. I have the plug-in keyboard and mouse. Don't have a trackpad.
The cursor dissappears whenever you type on the keyboard. It just always happens globally.

Ever since I've installed 10.7 I notice that the mouse cursor has a tendency to keep dissappearing in most apps, particularly Safari. For example, like when I click a text box to type an email in Hotmail. The cursor dissappears and only re-appears when I move the mouse to get the cursor out of the program app. But after it reappears, I got back to Safari it gets hidden again. This is very frustrating indeed as I have no idea where the mouse is on the page.
As a matter of fact, as I enter this question in the text box, the cursor has completely dissappeared and only reappears (but then quickly hides again) when I go inside and outside of the text block. I know normally the cursor would dissappear when I started typing, but this happens even when I'm not and I'm shaking the mouse to try to unhide it
However it seems to happen in other apps as well, but is most frequently happening in Safari probably mostly since that is my most common app.The cursor dissappears whenever you type on the keyboard. It just always happens globally.

My wireless mouse often loses connection. I replace batteries and it works for a few days before becoming problematic again. Battery currently shows 100% and connection is lost intermittently. Bluetooth is on and wireless keyboard works. Any suggestions?
Is it possible that you have a bad bunch of batteries?
My Magic Mouse on one computer and the Mighty Mouse on another use batteries I bought through the Apple store (with a charger). They last a long time.

Another possiblity is that the mouse is defective. Since the keyboard connects, it has to be the mouse or the batteries. -
TS3824 My 2006 iMac has vertical lines that wont disappear - can this be fixed?

Take a screen shot & view that in Preview, move the Preview window around, if you see double lines it's a Video card/VRAM problem, if the lines do not move moving the pic around then it's the LCD or cable. -
We have a PCin our shared vacation home running both Firefox and Explorer . When I tried to log into my gmail, Firefox took me automatically to one of my sister's accounts. In an effort to get to my own account, I shut down the computer. When I rebooted and restarted Firefox, it asked if I wanted to restore earlier session, and Lo & Behold I was back in my sister's email account. This is scandalous! How can it be prevented?

Wired mouse, wireless mouse and trackpad -- none can click
My MacBook ignores clicks from both the trackpad and any mouse (wired or wireless) attached to it.
The keypad works fine and mouse clicks executed on the laptop from a remote computer work appropriately.
The problem is intermittent and does not appear to be related to any installs, since there haven't been any in weeks and the problem is only days old.
Any ideas?In case it's nighttime in roam-land, I'll comment. Bluetooth was never standard on the eMac. It was optional on the 1.25 and 1.42G emacs (the "USB 2.0" models) and not at all available on the older USB 1.1 eMacs.
The probelm is I don't recall seeing the eMac's optional Bluetooth module offered as an after-market part. You'll have to do some Googling.
If System Profiler (in Applications > Utilities) says your eMac's machine model is "PowerMac6,4" you have the slot for a BT module. If your have "PowerMac4,4" you'll have to look for a third=party system (check the big keyboard makers like Logitech) and make sure their wireless KB/mouse adaptors works on a USB 1.1 port.
Basically, Bluetooth is a very short-range wireless protocol--perfect for mice and keyboards that sit very close to the computer.

It does not appear dirty, the battery is fine, the connections are fine but it is haywire to the point of being useless. Any advice?
Hello BDAqua, thanx for the suggestions. Before I saw this reply I tried to first quit the finder and then to relaunch the Finder but that resulted was a blank gray screen.
In the end I ended up having to power down the iMac.
Fortunately the RAID array that was "active" seems to be fine and also has a firewire 800 connection so I can use it_ just not with thunderbolt until this issue is solved.
I'm going to check in the Applications>Utilities>system log to see if any clues are evident_ thank you for the suggestion.
PS: Nothing of note was obvious as a root cause in the Activity Monitor though.
hmmm....I was told that the Helios and seritek card were compatable and that the Helios didn't require any drivers..it will be a drag if there isn't an easy fix for this since this new PCIe card from seritek is the first to offer port multiplier compatibility for eSATA to thunderbolt...since they are both new I'm hoping that an OS upgrade will be the fix (presently7.2)...we shall see. -

None of this will, in all likelihood, address your actual issue, but:
Close your resources in the reverse order you opened them. That means ResultSet, Statement and finally Connection
Speaking of finally, make sure you close your resources within a finally block. That is what they are there for. You need the resources freed regardless of whether the request was successful or not
Move the System.out.println() out of the loop. You are not connecting every time. You are fetching records every time. It is misleading.
Do not use SELECT *. Always explicitly label what columns you are selecting. Otherwise, another developer has to go to the actual table, describe it, and see what is coming out.

and one other problem - a site i could accesss but was not allowed to register - after thinking i must be out of my mind going round and round in circles - i called the site's 800 number and was told there is always a problem registering using mozilla firefox. so what did i do, i registered on my mobile.
i don't think any of this should be happening.
