My wireless keyboard will not stay on, any suggestions

I had the same problem. I changed batteries and tried pairing with Mac and iPad but couldn't with either. In this case the adage 'get a bigger hammer' worked for me. I pushed my batteries in hardish and noted that they depressed and returned under spring pressure, I tapped and banged the keyboard in the carpet on its end. In retrospect it was because the keyboard wasn't staying on. Once I did the above it stayed on and connected with my Mac, it must have reset somehow though as the Mac didn't recognise it as previously being connected.

Put truly fresh batteries in the keyboard.
Un-pair and re-pair the keyboard with the computer.
Attempt the PRAM reset again.
If you do not get the 2 boot chimes then I would suggest you reset using a USB keyboard. Any USB keyboard will do. If you don't get the 2 chimes when using a USB keyboard then either you are not holding down the keys correctly / early enough or there is something wrong with the computer itself.
If you do get the 2 boot chimes you can then go back to the wireless keyboard and re-pair it.

New Mac Mini - wireless keyboard issue

I bought a new mini and wireless keyboard and mouse. The mouse works but the keyboard is not being recognized. Any help? It is a new mini so I cannot get onto the preferences and I do not have another mac keyboard.

Scrounged a Microsoft USB mouse and plugged into Mac Mini. Allowed me to click through to new pane telling me I had no keyboard connected, please connect one. Well, that's progress.
Took a number of attempts. Eventually it saw and displayed my KB's Bluetooth ID, but then failed. It was almost "reluctant," like it was trying to get out of work. This is not behavior I am used to from non-sentient digital equipment. Unless... never mind.
With a functioning KB and mouse I finally was able to open Lion and System Preferences and discover the DEFAULT trackpad settings DISABLED clicks! I assume Apple has a method to what seems madness. Otherwise those Stuxnet saboteurs have been moonlighting in Cupertino to devise an out-of-the-box fail.
I didn't start out an Apple fanboy but since 2007 their products have turned me into one. Yet I was so disappointed today I planned to return the Mac Mini, KB and Magic Trackpad tomorrow. My Apple Store is nearby. I kinda knew that USB end run would work, but I was insulted they made me resort to such a kludge.
I cannot imagine why that initial Bluetooth pairing procedure hassle remains without some kind of service bulletin addressing known problems. So many people have commented on it over these boards. I flatter myself to conclude Apple does so many other things right that once in a while things get past them.
As usual, now that I command Lion OSX on an HDTV from the couch, I'll be keeping this Mac Mini as part of my home's Apple suite, crossing my fingers against Bluetooth issues.

Pavilion wireless keyboard issues

I have just bought a new Pavilion 500-250ea desktop + Pavilion 22xi monitor. Nice hardware, shame about having to have Windows 8.1 though :-)
The desktop shipped with a wireless mouse and a wireless keyboard (Part No 697345-031). I've spent the last couple of days with all the kit on the desk, setting everything up and transferring all my files etc. All going nicely until I got to the stage where I was able to take my old machine away and put the new one in the space UNDER the desk (wooden top). Now the mouse is erratic and the keyboard often just 'hangs' for a while. Surely the wireless range ought to be better than that and not bothered simply by an intervening desk???? Or is 'deskTOP' meant to be taken literally.....
Also, the keyboard has NO CapsLock or NumLock lights !!! This plays havoc when trying to enter passwords :-( Is there any utility perhaps to display the CapsLock and/or NumLock status on the screen??

I have read your post on how your desktop is experiencing erratic control of the wireless keyboard and the mouse with the desktop hidden away, and I would be happy to assist you!
To begin, I recommend moving the desktop to a more open area to test for spacial interference. To expand on this, I suggest following this document on Wireless Printing Common Questions. Under "Wireless Connection Issues" please select "How do I improve a weak signal from my wireless router?" on obstructions.
In regards to the caps and num lock keys, I understand there are no indication lights in the top right-hand corner. On most programs, however, you will be given an indication that the cap locks are on for passwords. A good example of this is when you log onto your computer, it will tell you if the caps lock is on or not.
Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, and I look forward to your reply!

Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with your keyboard appearing at unexpected times. I recommend restarting your iPhone, followed by a reset if the restart does not help.
Restarting your iOS device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider.
Resetting your device
You can reset it by pressing and holding both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

TS3048 wireless keyboard not responding after sleep mode

My Apple Wireless keyboard (old style with numeric keypad) does not respond properly when my computer exits sleep mode. Keys either don't work or a single key hit produces multiple letters / numbers on the login box. The only way to get the keyboard to work properly is to turn it off, wait until the computer says it's lost the keyboard connectilon, then turn the keyboard back on again.
I tried a newer Apple Wireless Keyboard (current model) with this computer, and it works properly.
Anyone have an idea as to what's going on here?

** SOLVED ***
If you have a early 2011 MBP, the optibay SATA is a 6GB bit is really support 3GB/s only.
If you have a 6GB SSD, install it in the ORIGINAL adapter and the original SSD in the optibay.
This will **SOLVE** the issue.

Apple New Wireless keyboard issue

I purchased an apple wireless keyboard a month or so ago, and all was fine. A few days ago, I must have touched some combination of keys that now have the effect of NOT allowing me to type using the keyboard.
I changed the batteries and checked the bluetooth connection, and all seems fine. The odd part is, some of the keys (the function keys across the top) all work all the time. But NO letter keys work.
Is there a "numberlock" or somesuch key I may have inadvertently hit? Help, please?

Wireless Keyboard issues after battery change

I've search the forums for an answer and can't seem to come up with anything.
I have an older white wireless keyboard. It's been running great on my Mac Pro since day one, no battery changes since new, about 9 months now, maybe a bit more. The batteries just died on me and I went and changed them with 4 new batteries. Upon turning the keyboard back on, the green power LED comes on steady for about 5 seconds, then goes into a quick double blink, then a pause, then double blink again, repeating this over and over again.
I've replaced the batteries again with a different brand, same results. I've attempted to clean the positive terminals with a pencil eraser as found in an Apple knowledge base article. Nothing seems to change. The unit won't connect and doesn't appeared to be powered on as the Caps Lock key indicator will not light up.
Is it dead? Any ideas on the double blink indicating a fault? The manual does not have a key on blink codes.

Contacted Apple phone support. They had me reset my PRAM and after the reboot, the keyboard connected back up just fine and is working properly again.

I'd start with a SMC reset. If that doesn't work try reseting Pram.

TS3048 wireless keyboard pairing problems

hello there
have been trying to pair a wireless keyboard to my macbook, am given a code by the BlueTooth assistant and told to enter it into the dialogue box when prompted, but do not receive the prompt and the pairing attempt times out.
any idea what the problem might be?

I just used my Apple wireless keyboard a few days ago. Today I cannot get it working. Caps lock does not even light up, so I canged batteries. My MacMini cannot detect bluetooth of my keyboard, it seems. Any suggestions?

The Apple wireless keyboard will not work. Batteries are new, light is on & goes into search mode. Worked fine yesterday, today - wont type. I was just researching the same problem and found this info :
"I figured it out, i had "mouse keys" on.
To fix go to Preferences>Universal>Mouse> MouseKeys and click off"
sure enough I had the 'mousekeys' on and turning it off - keyboard now working

TS3048 Wireless keyboard capslock possessed

My capslock does not respond BUT TURNS ON/OFF RANDOMLY. IMAC, LEOPARD, WIRELESS KEYBOARD. THOUGHTS?

Just checked shortcuts. They are all default.
Haven't spilled anything to my knowledge but I do drink coffee while I work.
I've washed the old white keyboards in the dishwasher but not the aluminum. Will take it home tonight and try it. At this point I think there's nothing to loose.
While I can type slowly and consciously to keep from hiting the TWO AT THE same time, if I relax it happens.

TS3048 Wireless keyboard erases and retypes what it wants. Help please!

Occasionally, and just now while using PhotoShop, my wireless keyboard erases numbers I've typed in dialog boxes and types different numbers. Is there a fix for this?

TS3048 Wireless keyboard respond

None of the keys on my wireless keyboard respond. The green light comes on and then fades away as normal. The bluetooth detects the keyboard and says it's connected. However, NO keys work at all. None. Nada. Zilch. Any ideas??

This doesn't seem to be the case. The Option key toggling wasn't enabled in Universal Access. Toggling mouse keys in universal access didn't seem to help one way or the other either
