TS3048 Wireless keyboard / mouse connection lost

I have lost connection to both my wireless mouse and keyboard. I have checked batteries but cannot access the computer to check any settings. Any ideas anyone?

Hello:
It sounds like something is amiss with your Bluetooth hardware.
Try resetting the SMC (this can be done without a KB or mouse).

Wireless keyboard stopped connecting to iMac. Replaced batteries, restarted computer. Keyboard blinks green- cannot get steady green light. Computer does not recognize keyboard, nor connect. Tried deleting device and re-connecting, but keyboard is never seen by the Mac. Also tried same keyboard with a Macbook Air and keyboard was not recognized. other bluetooth device (mouse) works fine. Ideas?

For now, try a SMC reset.

  • TS3048 wireless keyboard will connect but pairing is unsuccessful

My brand new wireless keyboard will connect but pairing is unsuccessful. OS X version 10.6.8. Any ideas of what the problem is?

I'm a bit confused, the keyboard must be first paired in order to connect.  What do you see when you use System Preferences > Bluetooth > click the "+" icon to add a device.

  • Windows 8.1 freeze on any hardware scan or changes. USB wireless keyboard mouse not working

Problem : System Freezes frequently on any hardware scan or changes.
Symptom : Wireless Keyboard Mouse not working.
    Caused by : VMkbd.sys located in C:\Windows\System32\drivers.
Issue : VMware player or VMware Workstation installed on Windows 8.1 causes compatibility issue leading to system freeze
Soultion : Please follow steps below
    Step 1: Start > run > regedit
    Step 2: Locate to this registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4d36e96b-e325-11ce-BFC1-08002BE10318}
Step 3: On the left side plane, Right click on the registry {4d36e96b-e325-11ce-BFC1-08002BE10318} and then export it as backup. Just to be safe.
Step 4: Edit the UpperFilters, The value current would be kdbclass vmkbd. Remove the vmkbd. So only value left would be kbdclass.
Step 5: Restart your system and connect your USB wireless reciever. If all is well it will not freeze your windows now.
This worked for me. Hope this works for you. Enjoy..!!

  • Wireless keyboard & mouse

Hi there. I just installed on my MBP Mac OS X 10.5. I wanted to install WinXP as my secondary OS with BootCamp.
My wireless keyboard & mouse are not detected when I boot in Win.
How can I get my keyboard & mouse to work
    Thanks!

A quick look at the requirements for the Apple wireless keyboard and mouse says nothing about Windows, meaning they are not supported by Apple for Windows use. That does not mean, however, that someone has not found a way to make them work. As Allan has already stated, the Bootcamp discussion area would be a good place to look. It is possible that there is a third-party application which allows them to work in the Windows environment. Good luck.

  • Hp model #RK713A wireless keyboard + mouse

can i purchase a usb dongle that will work with my  hp model #RK713A wireless keyboard + mouse?

I am also looking to buy the dongle for this set up.  My son got one and then shipped to boot camp (USMC) and now we can't find the dongle.  It is a beautiful and new set up except for the missing dongle.  I hate to buy a whole new set up.

  • Wireless Keyboard and Mouse connection lost when computer wakes up

Every time my computer wakes up I get the message "Connection Lost" referring to the mouse (Mighty Mouse) and keyboard. I have to wait a couple of seconds for them to start working. I tried to remove them from the list of Bluetooth devices and then pair them again, but had no success. It's pretty annoying to have this happening everytime the computer wakes up.
Is anybody else experiencing this? Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

I have this issue as well, and havn't found a sufficient answer on the forums as of yet.
I can pair my mouse every day, and it will work fine, until I leave it at night when my computer shuts down. When I return in the morning I have no mouse, and have to go back to the bluetooth setup wizard and re-pair the mouse by turning it off then on again. I can't even just come in and turn the mouse off and on and have it work. I have to actually go through the setup wizard.
I CAN however, go to the bluetooth preferences, click on the mouse, and choose "connect" when it is turned off, then turn it on and it will connect without having to re-pair, but this is just as tedious and annoying as the whole setup process.
It's so annoying to have to have a wired mouse plugged in just so I can pair my wireless mouse every morning. Kind of defeats the purpose of a wireless mouse.
When I orginally bought the mouse and keyboard I had to return the original mouse because it wouldn't hold a connection even when I was using it. Obviously these wireless mice of Apple's need some more TLC in the engineering dept.

  • TS3048 My keyboard will connect wirelessly but my mouse will not. I've put new batteries in the mouse and the green light is blinking but it just won't connect!!! I don't have a 'wired' mouse so I can't get into preferences etc!!! Pls help

My keyboard will connect wirelessly but my mouse will not. I have tried many times, put new batteries in etc. The Bluetooth appears to be on (as the wireless keyboard is working). I don't have a 'wired' mouse so I can't get into preferences etc. Is the mouse dead perhaps? The green light is flickering so it should be ok???
    Thank you for your help
    Sully (frustrated Irishman)

From what you say I would suggest the batteries are not connecting properly.
First, thoroughly clean all contacts, both inside the mouse and the contact points of the batteries.  Use an alcohol based cleaner (whisky will do, hic!)  dampen (not wet) cotton buds for cleaning.
Then check to see if they fit firmly.   If you can shake your mouse and hear things are loose, that will be the batteries.   Check the make.   Apple and Duracell, in that order, are the best batteries.   Where slight undersizing has been reported they are with other than the foregoing.
You can resolve the size problem with appropriate packing but that will always be a makeshift solution.  After, reassemble, turn on the mouse and with luck, away you go.
Hopefully this will solve your problem but in any case let us know how you get on.

  • Lose connection with wireless keyboard/ mouse

I'm using 10.9.1 and continually losing the connection with the wireless keyboard or the bluetooth mouse. I've changed the batteries. I've gone to System Preferences, clicked on keyboard and used the assistant to re-connect. But why is this happening at least every 3 days.  First the keyboard. Then the mouse.

    Hello peachfuzz123,

  • Wireless Keyboard losing connection - Mouse acting funky

I keep getting a "connection lost" message and then have to "wake up" the keyboard. I just changed the batteries in both the wireless mighty mouse & wireless keyboard. The mouse keeps getting very "choppy" and unresponsive, then straightens out after a few minutes. Also lots of keyrepeats. The problem has been here for a while but seems to be getting worse. All software & firmware is up to date. When I turn on the keyboard the light only stays on for a few seconds then goes out.

There should be four tiny wires with round connectors, each labelled "1" "2" "3" and "BT". 1-3 are for the Airport card and BT is for Bluetooth.
Try these pics to help you to identify the cable and the bluetooth module:

  • Bluetooth won't connect my Apple wireless Keyboard, Mouse, or Trackpad

    Just as the title says...
    I have a 13" MBP Mid 2009.
On OSX I can connect my Apple Bluetooth Wireless Keyboard (3 battery slim model,) Mighty Mouse, or Magic Trackpad.
Windows 7 detects these devices in the "add device" screen but never gets any further then that when trying to connect with them.
I have installed the bootcamp drivers, and also did the update for them as well.
These devices connect fine in OS X, so why not in windows?
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Scott

    SOLUTION:
Put the devices in "Manual paring mode"
    1. Turn device off.
    2. Push and hold in power button until the LED starts flashing on and off.
    3. Try the paring procedure.
    4. It should work.
I went to the apple store and this is what they did. They got the trackpad paired no problem, but the keyboard would refuse to make connection. At first they blamed windows and didn't want to replace the keyboard because it worked fine under OSX. However I made them try one of their keyboards and it paired fine. So they ended up swapping out my keyboard for one of the newer ones and now it pairs with both windows and OSX with no problem!

  • TS3048 Wireless Keyboard constantly looses connection

My Apple Wireless Keyboard (Part Number: MC184LL/B) constantly looses connection (as often as once/minute; but sometimes it will stay connected for up to 20-30 minutes before cutting out).
    Details
    >It is 2' from my Macbook Pro.
    >There's a Drobo next to the computer, but the cut-out happens whether Drobo is on or off.
    >Battery indicator says keyboard is 100%.
    >Thunderbolt Display in vicinity.
    >Happens at multiple locations within my house.
    >Error message is "connection lost"
    Suggestions?

    ACTUALLY: Problem is NOT FIXED.
Making the keyboard a FAVORITE helped--the connection goes down less often, but it still cuts-out, sometimes regularly. What else can I try?
Here's an RSSI readout, if that's of any use:

  • Wireless Keyboard losing connection while BT headset in use

    Hi,
I got a Samsung SBH500 Stereo Headset, and when I'm listening to music and using my Apple Wireless Keyboard and Apple Mighty Mouse, the keyboard keep losing connections.
Already tried to trash the preference file, change the Favorite status of everything, but the problem goes on and on.
While writing this post the connection was lost twice, and it's becoming frustrating...
    Help, please.

I decide to run some test.
    1) Wireless Keyboard + Wireless Headset + Wired Mouse works fine.
    2) Wireless Mouse + Wireless Headset + Internal Keyboard works fine.
    3) This is obvious, but to said i tried: Wireless Keyboard + Wireless Mouse works fine.
    So here's what I'm thinking...
A software/firmware problem with the Macs bluetooth or the headset uses way too much data so 3 devices is too much. I don't think is too much data, because if it wore probably would disconnect the devices randomly, not only the keyboard.
