TS3074 iTunes Update Error

Received a message to update my iTunes.  I did that but then started receiving messages that the application had failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found and that reinstalling the application may fix the problem.  I did find this dll in one place on my computer, under C:\office2010copy\office14.  Anyway, I again tried reinstalling it to have the same problem occur.  I then decided to remove iTunes, download and install again.  I still get the same error message, but now I also get a screen that says "iTunes was not installed correctly.  Please reinstall iTunes.  Error 7 (Windows error 126).   I went through the same process of reinstalling, but same errors came up.   I did a clean boot, and removed, then re-installed iTunes, but same errors came up.  I found one possible solution (http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3074   but have done that, and still the same results, so currently am without iTunes, backup for my iPhone, etc.    Can anyone help?

I'd first try updating to iTunes 11.1.5.5, using an installer downloaded from the Apple website:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

  • How do I fix an itunes update error

I keep getting an error message pop up during an itunes update, it is telling me that if the problem persists to download and install manually but I don't know how to do it. It has happened many times recently and I just don't know where to begin to fix it. Do I continue to try and ignore it hoping that itunes will somehow be fixed on the next update or can someone give me a step by step solution ?

Try updating your QuickTime to the most recent version. Does that clear up the DEP errors in iTunes?

Have you tried doing a manual update - Download the installer from:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Save it on your PC and run it from there.
That may allow you to get round the Apple software update problem.

  • ITunes Update Error 7 - Problem with SQLite3.dll

I updated iTunes last night through the regular Apple Software Update and it appeared to update iTunes, Quicktime and Safari normally.  I am running Windows 7 Home Premium - 32 bit.  After the update it said I needed to restart Windows, so I did.  Since then I get the following errors:
As Windows is booting up, the following errors appear:
    AppleSyncNotifier.exe  Entry Point Not Found
The procedure entry point sqlite3_wal_checkpoint could not be located in the dynamic link library SCLite3.dll
    iTunesHelper.exe  Entry Point Not Found
The procedure entry point sqlite3_wal_checkpoint could not be located in the dynamic link library SCLite3.dll
If I try to start iTunes, I get the same error followed by:
iTunes was not installed correctly.  Please reinstall iTunes
    Error 7 (Windows error 127)
I have reinstalled iTunes but the errors continue.  I tried replacing sqlite3.dll but that did not help.
Any help or suggestions?  I'm pretty tech savy but I'm at a loss.

I received a note to do the regular Apple Software Update for iTunes, Quicktime and Safari, then I faced a big problem from that exact same messages, I could not sleep, and I could not go to work and I cannot make any phone calls.
I did not imagine that one day I'll see this intransigence and irony Carried out by Apple with humans, this makes us lose confidence in their products. Because they are interested in selling their products only and do not provide any service to their clients. And to help us solve problems that result from the method of maximum protection of their software. But I think that there is no any point in calling them and asked for their help and support. Where they do not show any initiative to help resolve the problemsThis indicates that they intend to do that, Believe it or not this problem has caused great damage and loss to me, Since I had 4 iPhones, And all my friends advised me to get rid of them and sell and never buy this products again, even if selling them at a loss because the Apple company abandon its responsibility to serve and assist their customers by support

  • After iTunes update, Error code R6038, iTunes won't function

Afterupdating iTuneson my Dell running Vista, Error Code R6038 pops up and iTunes won't function?

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (Later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
See also HT1925: Removing and Reinstalling iTunes for Windows XP or HT1923: Removing and reinstalling iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
Should you get the error iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found after the above reinstall then copy QTMovieWin.dll from:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
    and paste into:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
The above paths would be for a 64-bit machine. Hopefully the same fix with the " (x86)" omitted would work on 32-bit systems with the same error.

  • Itunes update error

    Hey all:
I have winxphome, avast antivirus, windows firewall. I do not have norton or Zonealarm. I have used itunes without problem for well over a year. I am trying to update to 6.0.2 but have this error each time. I have tried uninstall, reinstall, removing itunes and quicktime from registry, installing standalone quicktime, etc. I can only get itunes 4 to install and that does not help with music store. Has anyone seen and fixed a problem like this?
    Install Shield:
    Command Line parameters:
    /L Language ID
/S Hide intialization dialog. For slient made use: /S
    /v /qn
    /V parameters to MsiExec.exe
    /Ua <url to InstMsiA.exe>
    /UW <url to InstMsiW.exe>
    /UM <url to msi package>
Thank you to anyone who can help. I am at my wit's end.

P.S. no other problems with installer (which is updated)
      Windows XP

    well done proudmonk!
I get the impression that my error on install is not uncommon.
yeah ... it's not common either, though. i first saw this on a 5.0.0.35 install, and i think i've only seen about 20 reports in total since.
(kudos for the WinRAR trick goes ultimately to tim duymich, who discovered it for us back in the 5.0.0.35 days. i just remember it for people.)
if you've got the time and the inclination, you might try submitting some feedback to Apple on the issue. although there isn't a "technical feedback" mechanism for itunes, there is one for the ipod, which includes categories like bug reports:
    iPod Feedback
... and that seems like a worthy place to give feedback on this sort of issue (given the relationship between itunes and the ipod).

  • ITunes Update Error Message - Unable to Download

Tonight I've tried to update my iTunes to the latest version, and I receive an error message saying that "I don't have an authorized signature." I called Apple Support and for $150 I could pay to have them tell me how to fix it. I'm a young teacher paying back student loans so I don't just have $150 sitting around to spend on getting this resolved. I have not been able to sync my iPad or my iPhone for months because of not having this new update. During the last software update on my iPhone, I lost 700 some songs from my music. Can anyone help me? If I get this update working, will I get all my music back I lost?

I suspect you have a corrupted download of the installer. Clear your browser's cache and try again.

  • How to resolve iTunes update error?

I received an indication that there was an update for iTunes on my iMac.
I accepted and now I am receiving the following error
"The iPad software update server could not be contacted. An unknown error occurred (-50)"
Any idea what might be causing this and how to resolve it?
It's odd because the message is stating something about my iPad, but the message is not appearing on my iPad.
    Help appreciated.
    TIA,
    Jim P.

The update was on my iMac.

  • ITunes update error message

I am getting the following error message whenever I update iTunes. Does anyone know how to repair? Thanks!
The system extension “/System/Library/Extensions/GeneIOUSBCFSubclass.kext” was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it, or contact the product’s vendor for an update.

I too had the same issue. Except 5 updates, (iTunes, iMovie, etc.) refused to update due to 'corrupted' file(s).
I resolved this by going to the direct download site at apple.com and dl'd each update individually with no issues.
    I hope this helps...
