I've been trying to down load the new itunes version and I'm stuck on All your music in one place but now it's been stuck there for over 20 minutes. Do I need to start over or is this normal?
The sort fields should generally be empty unless you've putting in custom values to sort solo artists by their surnames. You can apply common changes to thousands of tracks at once, just don't apply the wrong change because there is no undo.
It is a good idea to backup before undertaking large scale changes. See this backup tip for a suggested approach.

Yes I'm aware of that. The procedures are also for trying in cases where iTunes can't be reinstalled due to a "Could not start Apple Mobile Device service" message.
If you're getting a different error message relating to the Apple Mobile Device Service (or Apple Mobile Device Support) when you try to reinstall iTunes, post back to let us know what that error message says. (Precise text, please.) -
i cannot sync my iphone with itunes because my software is too old- 10.5.8. The new itunes version will not download. How else can i sync my iphone to my mac?
You need to buy and install a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD; once it's installed, run the Software Update pane of System Preferences twice.
There is no other way to sync it, but content can be downloaded directly from the iTunes Store servers; for non-purchased music, this requires signing up for iTunes Match, which costs more than the DVD.

I've transferred my itunes library from PC to Macbook pro running latest itunes and now it will not recognize my iPods (nano 4 and 5th Gen an Ipod touch). All music is there and playable but will not recognize any devices. Help please
The ipod is not a backup/storage device.
You need to copy everything from your old computer to your new one.
The Apple store will do this for you, you can call apple support and they will help you, you can use google. -
I have recived a new computer for christmas and dowloaded the new itunes on it but when i hook my iphone 4 up to the new computer with the new itunes it will only show up on the new devices the music i have on it will not show up in the new itunes lirary on my new computer i hate having to hook my iphone everytime to see my music! can some one show me how to fix this!?!?!?!?! We have a 5s active on our account. After turning on a previously active 4s (it had the same number) The 5s can no longer place call and when you call it from another phone the 4s rings, but will not pick up. Texting over the cell networks works fine. Any suggestions??

please help - installed IOS7 and now I am having problems playing Words Free on my Iphone. It gives me a pop up telling me to connect to ITunes but will not connect. Cannot get out and have to continually shut down my phone and start over.

Itunes is asking that I edit payment info, but will not accept any changes to allow me to purchase music? I have changed cards, reentered information, uninstalled and re-installed Itunes. Nothing is working, what do I need to do?

I'm relatively new to Mac and want to try and get the most out of the new MacBook Air.
My wife and I have been sharing the same Apple ID. We both have iPhones - she has a 5 and I've got a 4S.
We only have one copy of iTunes and we have been sharing the account. (She doesn't really use the computer for anything beyond writing the odd weekend assignment.)
Would I be better off setting her up with her own and making her as a separate user on the computer? Would this require much work?
In recent times with updates, we have a few problems with the duplication of texts and that sort of thing. Both of our texts are stored on the computer and that sort of thing. Also, sometimes texts I send her are sent through to me from her, if that makes any sense.
Anyway, I don't really want to overly complicate matters when it comes to accounts etc, but I wanted to know if a fresh Apple ID would be the best thing or even a new user?
Any tips etc would be greatly appreciated

I have this question too (0) ReplyYour question is almost too much a personal one, begging the question "do we (husband and wife) feel comfy sharing one account on the Mac" maybe thats why nobody answered you.
It doesnt complicate anything, but it adds steps for switching accounts on the Mac/ purchases etc. of course
since your question is mostly personal, ..I wont answer THAT part of it, but creating a new account is easy.....messing with switching back and forth is also a personal preference 'issue' as well. I prefer to keep things simple, but...........you and yours, I dont know.......

This is what I did to fix both the skipping songs problem and the iPod verifying forever & not able to restore problem (because of iTunes 9):
a) I used Disk Utility to reformat my iPod while in Disk Mode using the instructions here:

b) Do not unplug your iPod after reformatting (mine showed up as a firewire disk) - simply launch iTunes ( I went back to 8.2) and follow the Restore instructions here:

iPod is recognized, syncs and doesn't skip songs anymore after that miserable experience with iTunes 9!!! -

I spend good money for my iPhone i have the iPhone 5 with the new charger slot which is smaller. I have been through at least 3 charging cords and this is not acceptable to me. i never had a problem with this on my older phone. apple needs to correct this and reimburse me for this cord.
