TS3212 Bonjour Error Message -

Here is the message I receive when trying to install the latest version of iTunes "The older version of Bonjour can not be removed. Contact  your technical support".  Any ideas?  I already tried to remove Bonjour from my Programs window but it wont let me. Thanks.

(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Bonjour error message: Network Error (dns_unresolved_hostname)

I have a  NAS drive on my home network. I used to be able to access it through Bonjour but recently it's stopped showing and Bonjour returns the following message:
       Network Error (dns_unresolved_hostname)
Your requested host "xxxxx.local." could not be resolved by DNS.
For assistance, contact your network support team.
The NAS drive continues to show up in the Finder, but I need access through Bonjour to perform certain admin maintenance and configuration.
Any ideas how to solve this issue?
My system: PowerBook G4 (OS 10.4.11) and Western Digital My Book World Edition NAS (1.5TB), both connected by ethernet (not wi-fi) to each other via wi-fi base station.

Whats even more strange is, today I managed to connect via FTP even tho I am getting DNS error from browser.
I've just tried your site using BT DNS servers and Google DNS servers, and both give the error in your posted title.
I tried a proxy, and it goes through alright.
It could be due to a change made by the hosts recently, and may not have reached all the DNSs yet. I notice that this still works :

  • Cannot connect to iTunes store - error messages in Win XP event log

I've been reading the posts and trying to connect to the iTunes store unsuccessfully for at least a week since installing the latest iTunes 9 update.
I've tried every suggestion I have found without success including uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes. I also used MSCONFIG to do a selective startup without services and then started iTunes, no luck with that.
I just went to Administrative Tools->Event View to look for clues.
Every day since March 31, 2010 there are multiple error messages for Bonjour Service. Probably one error for every time I tried to go to the iTunes store.
All of the Bonjour error messages are the same.
    The error message follows:
ERROR: read_msg errno 10054 (An exsisting connection was forcibly closed by the remote host)
I can see my store account information, but when I click DONE the process hangs.
When I click on iTunes Store, the status bar goes about half way and hangs. No error messages.
When I run iTunes network connectivity tests the results show a "Secure link to iTunes Store verified"
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Update to my original post
Still cannot see the iTunes store. Here is a list of what I have tried so far in addition to what I mentioned in the original post:
Changed parental controls to only allow access to iTunes U - cannot see iTunes U
Changed parental controls back to allow all access - cannot see the store
Updated my network driver - no change
Investigated the Error code 10054 on the internet for a solution.
    Found this posting:
    http://www.sqlservermart.com/resources/SynAttackProtect.aspx
Changed the registry as they recommended to include:
    HKEYLOCALMACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\SycAttackProtect{DWOR D} = 0
    Rebooted and no change.
iTunes network diagnositcs indicates I am able to connect to the store, but the status bar still hangs up about 1/2 way into the attempt to connect.

  • 1. iPodService (32 bit)  2.  BONJOUR error 3. Unistall and use my id on new computer

Hello I have two issues. First is the line I have.  I keep getting the "iPodService (32 bit) stopped working and was closed message.  I have rebooted, I've looked on line and have tried to get the correct answer.
Second question:  I keep getting the Bonjour error message.  They may be related.
LASTLY.....  I can no longer check all of my songs in iTunes.  Half of them are greyed out.  I still play them but there is something wrong.  I can say this all started when I installed the new Norton Antivirus and removed the McAffee.
OK, I lied, one more question.
I have 3 lap tops.  All are mine and I use for personal work and photos.  My husband put my daughters iTouch on one of my systems.  I have tried to uninstall his information and use have it as mine (since it is my computer).  I uninstall and re-install, and continue to get all of the junk he installed on it.... Barney cartoons, Sponge Bob, etc.  I don't want them on my system and want my library on it.  Any suggestions.
With that, we can't get her iTouch to download on to her system.  It states she can't because it is on another system............ Ok, those are my issues and would love any guidance available.

My application uses the provider for the web app and references a version of the Oracle.DataAccess.dll 2.112.1.0. which we use for the build process. When we deploy a release package we also deploy this dll as up until now it has seemed to be compatible between the different versions as we also have some customers still on 2.102.2.20 of the oracle client and ODP. You can't deploy that DLL. If you do, your program will see it and try to use it first, which means that DLL will then call whatever version of Oracle is on the machine. If they're not compatible with each other (and in this case they're not), then it's just not going to work.
Once the managed provider beta comes out I'd take a look at that, as this sounds like the exact scenario it's going to fix. You can just include it and your program will use that for it's Oracle connections no matter what native client is installed (or even if there isn't one).
In the mean time if you want people using 10.2 to be able to use it, you should probably be referencing 10.2 when you create it. If you have a reference to Oracle.DataAccess.dll but don't include it, the program will look for it in the GAC and use the version on the machine instead.

  • When I try to download iTunes I this error message "an old version of Bonjour cannot be deleted" and when I try it won't let me saying that the bonjour.msi is missing.

I am trying to download iTunes, it gets so far and then I get an error message that says that an old Bonjour cannot be removed, it goes on a bit further and says and old Apple Software Update cannot be removed; and then it says that the installation was interrupted and to try again.
I have gone to the control panel and tried to remove all traces of Bonjour, Apple, Quicktime but the two will not be removed it says that their .msi file and missing and to try to find them.  I have even reinstalled the programs from the ProgramData files in an attempt to repair or replace the missing files but I still get the same answer.
Can anyone help me? I need iTunes up and running to sync with my phones.
    Thank you for your help,
    Barbara

    Hi Barbara,
I had a similar problem recently and using the "more like this" feature I discovered an answer. To a problem posed by Holo7,  who like myself was a newbie on this platform,  b noir proposed a solution to Holo7's problem that also worked with my problem. It involves downloading a version of MS Windows Instal Cleanup and using it to completely remove all traces of the old version.
If you look at my problem (follow OldGit66) and the link to Holo7's problem then you will find b noir's answer which I think may help you. I am new around here so you might want to wait for one of the higher status correspondents.

    Hi Cappe2572,
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
As you were trying to reinstall iTunes, had you removed the previous install in the correct order first?
iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows: Unable to install or open
    1. Remove iTunes and related components from the Control Panel
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order. Then, restart your computer:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Important: Uninstalling these components in a different order, or only uninstalling some of these components, may have unintended affects.
It then goes on to verify components are completely removed and to reinstall.

Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (The results from mydigitallife and Major Geeks are worth checking.)
After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove".
Restart the PC, and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?
