TS3212 can't download new iTunes version; old version blocks it; error message "network resource is unavailable" iTunes.msi
Can't download latest iTune version on my PC with Vista 64bit. Old version blocks it. Error message: "......network resource that is unavailable" references "iTunes.msi" How do I remove old version?
Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

Can't download new 5.0.1 version don't "have authorization"... I own the computer!
When I access Firefox I get a message that I'm no longer protected against attacts - I need the new Firefox 5.0.1. So I download it and when I go to install it I'm denied because I "don't have authorization for some components". I own the computer if I don't have access who does?
What do I need to do to access the new program?If you have problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.

Can someone help me please ? I was using itunes (downloading albums etc) just half an hour ago. I had a pop up asking me if i'd like to download the latest version of itunes, which i accepted. When the update had finshed downloading, i then restarted my computer, as i usually would. Tried to re access the itunes store, and received the following error message: 'Cant connect to the itunes store. An unknown error occurred (-3212) please check you have an active internet connection and try again.
Needless to say, i have an active internet connection and cant see any reason why this would be happening, it has never happened before ?

The option your looking for is available with iOS 5 or later. You need to update using iTunes on a Mac or PC.

I cannot get i-tunes. I tried the download, but no help. I get an error message The file "iTunes library itl" cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes. Any suggestions?
If you still have an issue you may have to see about using the iTunes version (application) included with Snow Leopard 10.6 from the installer or an another one if available online, and see if that will install.
Sometimes you may have uninstall the bits left in your system by the earlier (or later) iTunes installers; as they all leave a trace and these can stop a different version of iTunes from being installed.

I've got a huge problem and I hope I can solve it here. I ve got an ipod touch for smth like 2 months and all of sudden, when i connect it to the PC , itunes isn't starting automatically and i have to do it manually, even though until now it did open automatically. Also, a bigger problem is that I can't download new apps and i can;t update the ones i already have... when i try to do it, it just shows the sign of "waiting" and it frozes like this, so i can't use the app anymore... i tried to reset all settings, to reset the network settings, i searched for a lot of answers on the internet, but my problem wasn;t solved. So, if u can please tell me what should I do, considering that i haven;t tried to erase all content and settings and also my itunes is up to date. If i missed a detail you want to know, let me know, i ll answer, but i hope i wrote everything thatwould be useful in giving me an answer. Thank you!!I had a similar problem and ran across this old post from ilounge. I am running Win 7 and lost my playlists to the new upgrade. Then my old ipod died before I could hook it up. When I followed this insruction it restored all my songs and playlists (so there was duplication but I got everything back). Might work for you.

I'm running windows XP and seem to have found a partial solution that does not involve vague half assed directions =P
Open iTunes, go to file, import, and select the latest "Temp" file, I got most of my playlists and songs back that way.
Edit: This file is in the \My Documents\My Music\iTunes folder

These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up en passant.
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. If updates install, stock up on the ones you're behind on, restarting the PC if requested to do so. After the restart, try installing iTunes again. Does it go through this time for you?
If windows updates fail to install, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you? (For example, 8007000B.) -
Since I'd installed the new version of iTunes, iCal and Address book do not sync with my iPhone 3GS through iTunes anymore and I get an error message stating that iTunes can not sync with this iPhone. Was must i do to correct this issue and if i must, how dI reintall iTunes without loosing my content?

Can't download new podcasts or recent book purchases in iTunes
I can't download new podcasts or recent book purchases in iTunes. I'm using iTunes 10.6.1 on a MacBook Pro running OS 10.7.4. This started a week ago. I unsubscribed and resubscribed to my podcasts (no luck). I whitelisted the possible sending domains from a whitepaper I found on this site (no luck). I haven't added any other software or made any other changes to my computer configuration.
I bought these books on my iPad and they aren't downloaded there either (previously had no problems buying and downloading books to both iPad and MacBook). Interestingly, I was also unable to download App updates on my computer via iTunes until just now, when they suddenly were successfully downloaded. I've been able to download App updates on both iPad and iPhone all along.Forgot to post the error message I've been getting when I open iTunes:
