I can't get new versions of itunes to install on my windows computer. Any Suggestions? Every time I try, it downloads OK but when it proceeds to the install, I keep getting the same error message about a program in the installer not finishing as expected. It quits the install and that's that. Very frustrating.

For such situation, I'd suggest the following:
1. Remove current installed office with the fix-it tool in
KB2739501, and follow the "Remove Office manually" section to make sure there are no remaining files
2. Either download a trial version of Office 2013 from
http://office.microsoft.com/, or from
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/jj937170
3. Reboot your computer in clean boot mode, and run setup again

That suggests that the installer is getting damaged during the download.
I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer? -
After updating my iTunes it no longer acknowledges that my iPod or iPhone is connected so I can't update my music.. I have followed all of these steps and everything is working fine but this new version of iTunes isn't recognizing my devices. Any advice?
I have the same problem. Running Win 8 64Bit, updated to latest ITunes and now will not recognize phone or pad. Followed all advice from Apple (uninstall/restart/re-install, all in exact order) ... nothing. Spoke with Apple tech and walked through the whole process, but no resolution. Tech was trying to be helpful but has no way of addressing issue.

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the thingy):

To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Apple Software Update entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -
please help i have two ipods but i can use any as i can download the newer version of Itunes as i have the older version of Bonjour on my laptop

Have an older 17 MacBook Pro, running OS 10.5.8. Software update says everyting is current. Mac doesn't have iCloud, preferences still shows MobileMe. Just bought new iPhone 5S. Mac won't recognize phone, says I need newer version of iTunes. Have no problem with computer recognizing old phone 3 or 1-1/2 year old iPad. I suspect I need to update OS, but as software update isn't telling me to do so, can I? What version would I need to go to?
Your MacBook Pro can be updated to run Mac OS X "Snow Leopard". Buy it. That will enable you to run the latest iTunes version.

As already provided, if you don't have such in your iTunes library, on your computer, then there is no way to put it back on your phone. Apps are DRM protected, so even if you found a copy somewhere, you wouldn't be able to use it.

i'm running Win 7 64 bit. since upgrading to newer versions of itunes,the display is wrong. window controls and side scroll bar are cut off. any help will be appreciated. I've set itunes compatibility setting to Win 7.

Normally this message appears if you try to install an older version of iTunes. Occasionally it can be triggered by a damaged library database. This method should get things working again.
Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!

Can't run new version of itunes
The new version of itunes is downloaded but when I try and run it it says I have an invaled F: Drive? I know this might be a computer problem but does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this.
I am having the same problem. I currently have version 7.1.1.5. I have downloaded the new versions of itunes everytime they become available, but when I try to run the new versions, I just get an error message stating invalid drive F:\ and the install program quits. I have my itunes and music on a seperate external hardrive. I have found an older version of itunes on my main hard drive and have tried to delete it but the computer won't let me. When I originally moved the itunes and music library to the external hard drive, I managed to delete the other copy from my primary hard drive and I then had trouble accessing the library and had to reinstall all the music and reorganize all my playlists. BTW, I have a large music file - almost 100GB and have customized all of the catagories and playlists. I don't want to have to go through that again.
Can anyone help with this problem. -
