TS3212 how do I upgrade my itunes on my pc

I had itunes but apparently need to upgrade because as of this week I can no longer see anything. How do I upgrade itunes? Is it the same as just downloading it again? I don't want to loose the music I already have.
Thanks

You should be prompted whenever there is a newer version of iTunes available to you. Perhaps it has been turned off.
If the top menu bar is not displayed in your iTunes, use CTRL+B to turn it on. That will display this:
Click on Help/Check for Updates. If you see a message similar to this one...
...then you already have the latest version. Otherwise, a prompt will appear to help you download the new version.
For the future, to ensure that you are prompted when a newer version is available, click on Edit/Preferences/Advanced>Check for new software updates automatically:

Am i on the right path or do i need to upgrade my software which is OS X version 10.5.8?
    Any help is appeciated.

All these programs levels are a little confusing ..... you currently are on OS X 10.5.8 and want to upgrade to OS X 10.6.8, so you can download iTunes 7.
You'll need to call the online Apple store, which in the US is 800-MY-APPLE, and buy OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, from the legacy products list. You'll use the DVD they send to install the new operating system, then run Software Update several times until there are no more updates. At that point, you'll be at 10.6.8 and can download iTunes 7.
PS. Be sure and have a system backup before upgrading your operating system.

How can I upgrade to itunes 11.3 on my G4?

Sorry, you can't. iTunes 11 requires at least Snow Leopard (10.6) which in turn requires an Intel processor.

  • How do I upgrade from ITunes 3.0?

    Hi there,
We just had to reinstall our hard drive and are running 10.2.8. On that disc we have Itunes 3.
How do we upgrade to a recent version? Do we have to go in steps, or can we go straight to 6.0?
We would like to be able to use the Itunes store.
    Thanks in advance,
    Andrew

You can install iTunes 6.0x directly; there's no need to install any previous version.

  • TS3212 how do you get your itunes back if you uninstall in on your computer

how do you get your itunes back if you uninstall in on your computer

Does the book show in the Purchased tab in the ibookstore in the iBooks for downloading, and the amount that's come off your card is the book's price, it's not a temporary store holding charge (which should disappear within a few days or so) ?
If it doesn't show in Purchased then you could check to see if it shows in your Purchaes history so that you can use the 'report a problem' link from it : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that song and use the 'Report a Problem' link and fill in details about the problem (iTunes support should reply within, I think, about 24 hours).
If doesn't show there or the 'report a problem' link doesn't work (it's been taking some people to this site on a browser instead of showing a form in iTunes) then you can try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page.
For the card being declined, if it's a debit card then I don't think that they are still accepted as a valid payment method - they are not listed on this page and there have been a number of posts recently about them being declined
If it's a credit card then is it registered to exactly the same name and address (including format and spacing etc) that you have on your iTunes account, it was issued by a bank in your country and you are currently in that country ? If it is then you could check with the card issuer to see if it's them that are declining it, and if not then try contacting iTunes support as above and see if they know why it's being declined.

  • How do I upgrade to itunes 10.68 to get to 10.7

I have 10.6 on my Mac computer but need to upgrade to Itunes 10.68 to be able to download 10.7.

There is no iTunes 10.6.8. If you mean Mac OS X 10.6.8 and have an Intel Mac, phone the online Apple Store and order a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD.

  • HT1338 How to I upgrade to iTunes 10.7 in OS 10.5.8?

I need iTunes 10.7 or otherwise I have a redundant new iPhone 5!
So how do I get through the various OS upgrades, so that I can get iTunes 10.7?

Start by checking if you can run Snow Leopard:
Requirements for OS X 10.6 'Snow Leopard'
    http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
Whilst Apple have withdrawn Snow Leopard from their stores, you can still get it from Apple by calling 1-800-MY-APPLE (if you are in the USA) and they will supply the SL DVD for $20 for a single user, or $30 for a family pack that covers up to 5 Macs.  You can also purchase the code to use to download Lion from the same number (Lion requires an Intel-based Mac with a Core 2 Duo, i3, i5, i7 or Xeon processor and 2GB of RAM, running the latest version of Snow Leopard), or you can purchase Mountain Lion from the App Store - if you can run that:
    http://www.apple.com/osx/specs/
If you are outside the US call your national Apple Helpline:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
If you're in the UK, use this number: 0871 508 4400
When you have installed it, run Software Update to download and install the latest updates for Snow Leopard.

  • How do you upgrade to iTunes 11.1 or greater.

My Mac does not reccognize my iPad and says I need to upgrade iTunes to 11.1 or greater.  How do I do that?

Choose About this Mac from the Apple menu and check the processor.
If it's a PowerPC Mac, you cannot.
If it's a Intel Mac, click here, install the DVD, and run Software Update twice.

  • How can I upgrade my itunes to 11 version? It shows the legend "you have the latest version"

    Hi,
    I need urgent help!!
I recently upgraded my iphone 4, it works perfectly, everything all right with it, but... Next time I wanted to sync the iphone with itunes I couldn´t!!!
On the screen it shows a message saying that "my iphone cannot be read on this itunes because is not the actual version" and that I needed to upgrade it to the latest version, so I went to search for an update on the itunes menu and the message was "there are not new versions, you have the latest" but is not true!!!
So, I went to the itunes webpage to download the 11.1 version and once it was finished I tried to install it, but it happened nothing!
I am desperate and don´t know what to do, I don´t want to loose all I have there!!!
I would be so grateful if you could help me solving this problem!!
    Thank you!
    Yazz

If you're using 10.5.8, YOU HAVE the latest (iTunes 10) that will run on your OS.
If your mac is Intel, you can upgrade to 10.6 through Apple for $19.99, then run the 10.6.8 combo update and you'll be able to run iTunes 11.1.2 or 11.1.3

  • How do I upgrade to iTunes 10.1  on a PowerMac G4?

My Daughter's iPod requires iTunes in 10.1 or higher, but my PowerMac G4 won't allow me to upgrade (I currently have v 9.2.1).  when I downloaded the installation thing it says I needed OS 10.5.3 and I'm running 10.4.11.
    I have a dual 1.6Ghz power PC G4 processor.
does anyone know if I can get around this?
(I think I'll post this in the PowerMac section too)
    thanks!

This can only be gotten around by purchasing Mac OS X 10.5 on DVD from a site such as Amazon.

  • How do I upgrade to ITunes 7?

I have an old Mac Mini 1.5 Ghz Intel Core Solo, 1 GB 667 Mhz DDR2 SDRAM.  Mac OS X (10.4.1).  I want to upgrade ITunes 6, which is on the computer.  Thanks in advance for your help.

I have tried Software update several times and it says "no updates are available that your system is up to date."  But, it only has ITunes 6.  It's not a big deal but I thought it would be able to update at little more.  I have another Mac Mini (1.83 GHz Intel Core Duo; 1 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM; OS X 10.4.1) and I have ITunes 9.0.3.  So. is it not possible to update it anymore due to it's configuration?

My problem is that my registry only shows one ORACLE_HOME--the 64-bit full install whereas Cognos reqs to point to 32-bit client. The env/reg variables probably do exist/show, only in the right place. In Win 64-bit, there's a separate branch of reg entries for 32-bit (look for WoW6432Node).

ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adapter errorIt works as expected. Since there is no Oracle instance in the Client home (no surprise), you can't connect "locally" from the 32-bit sqlplus. I.e. you need to use "...@connectident" in the connect string.
In order to fix Cognos, I changed my ORACLE_HOME and path to point to the 32-bit client (i.e. from D:\oracle\app\dock\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1 toOn Windows platform, ORACLE_HOME should not be set by user (it is already set by installer, in the Registry).
To pick up proper settings, PATH need to be set or used.

Sooooo, I think I need to set the OH and PATH back to the 64-bit as that is what the Listener requires but any ideas how to get the 32-bit sqlplus to also work?!?Please remove OH from env system settings.
Multiple homes on Windows is often a source of problems, since extra consideration and setup is needed more than just installing the software.
If "Cognos" relies on system PATH, then one way to go might be:
    - put path to 32-bit Client bin folder first in PATH
    - set up a shortcut to command window with only 64-bit in PATH, for times when you need to administer the database via command line.
