I was researching what might cause performance issues with iTunes on a Windows computer and found this lil gem. Named Apple software on Windows: May see performance issues and blank iTunes Store, found here http://support.apple.com/kb/ts4123, I think it will help you out.
If that troubleshooting does not resolve your issue, you may want to consider recreating your iTunes library.

Hmm....I just had another thought. All the machines are running Win7 SP1, BUT the 2 that can sync with MSE installed are 32bit versions, however the one that can't is 64bit. Not sure if that makes any difference though. All are clean installs with Win7SP1 media, not SP1 installed later.

I saw your message. Below are the problems:
Whenever I connect my iphone 3GS to my PC through a USB. My itunes software comes up automatically.
1. After that a message appears from the itunes that states that 'itunes could not connect to the itunes store, an unknown error cccured (306).
2. After the above, an alert message comes up which states that A new iphone software version 5.1 is availlable for my iphone. It then states would you like to download it and update your iphone now? With the options buttons as Cancel or Download and Update or Download Only. Whenever I clicked on Download and Update or Download Only, the next message that comes up is that The iphone Software Update Server Could not be Contacted and suggest make sure your network setting are correct and active or try again later.
The above is the challenges I am facing now.

Are you trying to transfer the GarageBand projects or the rendered audio files? What version of GarageBand do you have on your iPhone?
I do not think you can share your GarageBand projects from your iPhone to GarageBand on your Mac, unless you have iCloud, afaik, only the audio files.
How did you transfer the song?

You might try this tip....iTunes 11.1.3 appears to have flawed permissions:
Repair permissions either with Disk Utility in the Applications/Utilities folder or on the command line with:
diskutil repairPermissions /

Why does itunes take 10 minutes to open?

randomly a couple days ago itunes decided it was going to take 10+ mins to open. i uninstalled every apple thing i had on my computer and reinstalled itunes and still didnt work. i read thro forums and people have issues with leaving blank cds in there cd/dvd drives. i did not have this problem. i have tried itunes 10.4 and 10.5 and niether work. everyone on my computer works fine. just itunes is giving me problems.

oh and my computer is a beast. so it shows 0% cpu usage and like 18$ ram usage during this problem. so its not that my computer cant handle it. oh and there is 0 music in there right now and still has issues.

Suddenly, iTunes will not open on windows 7. If I try to open it, it appears in the taskbar, but will disapear from the taskbar a second later.
I have been using iTunes on this computer for 3 months, and this is the first trouble I have had with it. A day before this happened, it would not recognise
that I plugged my iPod Touch (Even though windows regonized it as a camer, like always.) It kept trying to wifi sync, which wouldn't work because our wifi wasn't working at the time.

Tray takes a while to open

Hi, I just bought a MSI DR4-A DVD writer and everytime I press eject, the led turns on a bit and 2-3 seconds later it opens.
Is this normal? Never experienced it with my other writers.

Ah okay, another small question, I updated nero and the firmware was already 2.30, but I can only burn a dvd+r at 2.4 and 4 speed, not 1x or 3x.
It's not the media (support 1-4x) so is there a fix for this?

Itunes takes an hour to load in windows 7

I recently upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate from Windows Vista. When I did this iTunes stopped working. I uninstalled and installed it several times and it wouldn't open. I found suggestions about deletng some system files and it helped. Now it opens, but only after I let it load for an hour. After opening iTunes it looks like it isn't loading. If you look at the Task Manager, you can see that it is running - just not up on the screen. If I let it sit for an hour it will finally appear on the screen. Any suggestions?

It starts up slowly for me as well but it doesn't take that much time to load. Have you tried defragging your drives?

Itunes downloaded but won't open on Windows 8

are you running Norton Internet Security 2005? if so, that's been causing this to people on installs/upgrades since 4.8.
if it's just itunes processes being blocked, you can fix it using these techniques:

After installing iTunes 7.6, whenever I open it, Windows Installer launches

I upgraded to iTunes 7.6 yesterday. Whenever I open the program now, Windows Installer launches. No idea what's causing this. I'm tried reinstalling, rebooting, but nothing helps.
Anybody know how to fix this?
