TS3219 When on iTunes on my first generation iPad it defaults back to the home screen with no warning
When trying to view the film category in iTunes my iPad defaults back to the home screen so I can't buy a film or even view products. Why is this happening ? Is there anything I can do?? My iPad is using iOS 5 and it is upto date as it is a first generation iPad. Please help!!!
Thanks
This is most often the result of iOS closing apps when it experiences a low-memory situation. The original iPad has very limited RAM by todays standards for Apps. If you have apps open, be sure to close them to preserve your RAM for apps you actually want running.
To do so, double-tap the home button, then press and hold an app icon until they start to shake. You can close apps in the multi-tasking tab by tapping the little circle that appears.Be sure you don't do this on the main home screens because tapping the X will delete apps from your device rather than close them.

I have a first generation iPad and got my husband the iPad 2 for xmas. is there a way to transfer his tiny tower game from my iPad to his without using the same iTunes account?
Apps are only tied to one account... You can set up two iTunes accounts on your computer, however, and let his iPad sync to his account. If he has never backed up his apps to a computer, however, he will have to redownload all the apps. Afterwards, he can backup to iCloud instead of your computer.

My first generation iPad is not connecting to the internet! any helpful tips?

Have you done a reboot by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears, ignore the red slider if that appears.
If that does not help, go to Settings and turn WiFi off. Make sure you are not in AirPlane Mode and turn WiFi back on and see if it shows the wireless networks that are available. -
When I try to activate an app that was purchased on my IPad it goes to that app's screen that immidately goes back to the Home screen. What can I do to fix it?
These are the general things that you can try to get your apps to work again. But the first thing you can try is to download any free app - that seems to reset something. See if your apps will work after that. If not try these things listed.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Close all apps. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
If none of these things work, you may have to delete the app and install it again. To delete the app, tap and hold down on the app icon until it wiggles. Then tap the X that appears on the icon to delete it. Restart your iPad as described above and download the app again. -
When using my phone it sometimes will go back to the home screen
When I'm using my phone it will go back to the home screen !! Annoying help
Your first post was that when trying to take a photo or going online it would go back to the display screen.
I would first go to settings to general to reset all settings. If this does not resolve the issue you will then want to back up all data and then restore device back to default settings. Obviously a software issue. -
My iPod touch just stops playing songs automatically.
When doing a google search it sometimes times goes back to the home screen.
Also it sometimes takes several goes before it will accept the charger!
Would appreciate any help, thanks- The charging issue could be due to a poor connection or a problem with the iPod. Try another cable first
- Try the following, it is mainly for the not playing and other problems:
Reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory defaults/new iPod
If still problem time for an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. -

The last several days I have not been able to access the dial pad. When I go to phone a pop up appears that says "unfortunatly contacts has stopped working." To remove the pop up you have to hit 'ok', the it goes back to the home screen. This also happens when I go to contacts.
You migh give resetting your NVRAM a try:

When I stream videos from my laptop onto my Apple TV via my iPad 2 using the Air Video app/server the video plays great however when I pause the video the Apple TV reverts back to the home screen within a few seconds and then when I want to restart watching the video I have to re-buffer the video. Is there any way I can stop the Apple TV from reverting back to the home screen when I pause the video I’m watching?

When I'm working on another window, it will kick me back to the home screen
when I'm working on another window, it will kick me back to the home screen every 15 seconds or so. It's like when it check email or something, it goes to the home screen.
This problem is often caused by "Google Drive." If it's installed, I suggest you remove it according to the developer'sinstructions. You may need to boot in safe mode to do so. Back up all data before making any changes.
If you use Google Drive and don't want to remove it, then try deselecting the option in its preferences to show a status icon. According to reports, that may be enough to stop the Finder from crashing. -
I have purchased apps for my ipod touch and they are not loading properly. They appear on the screen, but when you touch them, they do not open and bounce back to the main screen. Any ideas on how to fix?
Try the basics from the manual:
