check in settings, sounds, to make sure you do not have 'system sounds' muted. Swish, keyboard clicks etc are called system sounds and can be muted.

Starting to type a name and getting a list of matches is good but it's not a substitute for being able to choose twenty or thirty names from your address book and dragging them into the "To" field. Of course many contacts can be put into a group but I may want to send occasional emails to many people who don't fit any group, and there may be no need to create a group just for that email.

Matlab routine within labview cannot get input after a few hours of use. What can be the trouble?

I have a Matlab-within-Labview application that needs to run 30-40 times in a row. However after let's say 10 runs I get error 1047, that is, there is no communication between Matlab and Labview. I have to reset the computer to start re-running the application without problem. Note that Matlab is open on this computer all the time.

The only information I could find on this from NI or MWorks is that MATLab must be running in order for LabVIEW to access the Matlab server. I would check to see if there is anything specific happening inbetween the 10 and 11th runs that causes the link between the Matlab server and LabVIEW to break, isolate where this happens and try to work from there.

Why do I get an interminable siren sound when I start FF?

I'm using FF 3.6.3. I get an interminable siren sound when FF Starts. I can't get it to stop unless I go to Control Panel and turn sound to MUTE. This is unacceptable behavior for FF. Is there anything I can do to get it to stop?

Let's assume for the moment that you want to do that. You could do this:
Quit Mail.
Go to Home/Library/Mail and copy the entire folder to your Desktop, then delete the Mail folder.
Go to Home/Library/Mail and copy the com.apple.mail.plist file to your Desktop.
Restart Mail and let it find and/or create new mail account folders for you, then see if your sound is back.
However, since you just setup an email account in the test user account and it worked, that points to the problem being with a corrupted Mail preferences file. So, if you just delete that and then restart Mail and setup your accounts again, that may very well solve the problem.

You are on pc or mac? I think pc. Below is a link that gives the steps, and it suggests you need to down load a controller, and then it tells you how to set it up. See if this helps any.

I'm getting a random beep sound when I hit the input button to record a turntable & mixer plugged into the mbox thats bleeding into the recording. How can I stop this? Please help me. It's happening if I'm recording or not, as soon as I hit the (I) input it beeps randomly.

Seems to be this song. Other projects don't have this issue.
I even took and opened the project on another computer, bounced it again and got the same "click" at the same 13 second area.
I've bounced each track solo, listened and NO click at the 13 sec. mark
No third party plug-ins.
The click doesn't land close to any beginning or end of a region.
Final mix down looks good, no peaking over 0db.
This is making me nuts!

You need to select the text and apply:
Inspector > Text > More > Language > Français
So Pages knows what language to check it with. Language is like bold or color or font, it is part of the text style.

If restarting did not resolve the issue, open Mail Preferences and make sure the box next to "Play sounds for other mail actions" is checked.
