TS3274 I am unable to charge my ipad

How do I get my iPad to accept a charge? It says not charging in the upper right corner of the screen. Any secret to this?  Thanks

No secret, just have to decide where the problem is. Is the wall socket working? Is the charger ? Will Your iPad charge from another charger? Are you trying to charge from a computer? Was it charging one day and not the next? Did it stop charging after an update or downloading an app? Simplest solution would be to reset it. Next comes a trip to the Apple Store and bring the charger.

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. In rare instances when using the Camera Connection Kit, you may notice that iPad does not charge after using the Camera Connection Kit. Disconnecting and reconnecting the iPad from the charger will resolve this issue.

I am unable to charge my IPAD on the computer and it says not charging. Tried on 2 computers but same issue. Any Suggestions?

That's normal. Most USB ports dont' put out enough power to meet the iPad's requirements. (It says 'not charging' even though there is a trickle charge...it will charge over USB, but it'll take hours and hours)
Your iPad is best charged with the supplied charger plugged into the wall.

I am unable to charge my iPad

Can you give us more information ? How do you try to charge you iPad ?
    For information:
    - generally laptop computers (and some desktop ones) have not enough power on USB port to charge an iPad
    - sometimes, my iPad is charging but the "power icon" doesn't show that. It is only a display issue that can be resolved by rebooting the iPad

  • TS3274 After few minutes of charging my ipad 2 it's coming on and i can see the Apple logo but it's not going passed that and the battery is not getting charged

Need help with my Ipad 2, after few minutes of charging the ipad comes on, i can see the apple logo and stops there and the battery doesn't get full charge

Have you tried rebooting the iPad?
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If the iPad will still not turn on completely, then you should probably restore the iOS software.

  • Unable to charge IPad 2

I am unable to charge my IPAd 2.  The cord is working fine as it did access my computer but I get the message 'not charging' .  Apple support was useless in getting any response/suggestions so thought I'd try here.  Does it need a new battery?  It's about 2 years old, so of course no warranty.  It's working through me computer at the moment and d/l latest update.  Is there a battery test?
    Any help appreciated.

Does it charge with the 10W Apple charger?
    If not:
Are you sure that the charger is working?
Is there power to the outlet you are using?

  • TS2634 I am unable to charge my iPod.

I am unable to charge my iPod touch at all. I have tried several different USB cables (including new ones) and none work. I am also unable to sync my iPod with iTunes and back up my purchases. What do I do? I could buy another I pod but I don't want to lose everything I have on my present iPod. Is there any way I can charge my iPod without using a USB cord?

    Hello,
I am currently an owner of an iPod Touch 4th generation, running IOS 6.1.2. I will be glad to help solve your problem with your iPod/iPad/or iPhone.
    Restart the Computer?
    Reset iPod/iPad/or iPhone:
Hard Reset: Hold down the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons on your  iPod/iPad/or iPhone for at least 10 seconds, or until Apple logo appears
    Hope that helps!
If none of the above solutions work, could you please reply back as soon as possible, as I will try to find another solution to your problem.
    Sincerely,
    Pizza98704

When charging my Ipad mini, it turned off and its still not working, what do i do pls??

First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

  • Unable to charge iPhone 5

unable to charge iPhone 5 cleaned out the charging point and even had a new battery fitted

The iPhone charger is 5W while the iPad charger is 10W. Do neither work to charge the iPhone or iPad? Since you can charge (slowly) via the computer, the cable is good.
Take it to an Apple Store for evaluation.

Unable to charge my ipad3 with itunes.Any suggestions

Presuming you mean charge your iPad via USB it doesn't work that way. Most USB ports don't put out enough power to fully charge an iPad. In fact, the USB puts out about half the iPad's minimum requirements.
The best way to charge it is with the supplied charger plugged into the wall.

  • Missing Contacts... Unable to Charge

    Hi
This morning when I returned from the weekend, I was told by ALL of our iPhone users (using ActiveSync with our Exchange server) that during the course of the weekend, their phone contacts disappeared (all of the contacts) and their iPhones were unable to charge.
Two things happened over the weekend, our Exchange server was down and our self-signed SSL certificate expired. I'm not sure why the contacts that exist on the phone went AWOL, is there something inherent in ActiveSync that would explain this behaviour? Once the server was up again, the contacts were available, even before I renewed the certificate. This doesn't make sense because some of these users travel outside of data coverage areas without losing their contacts. Also, any ideas as to why during this oddness, the users were unable to charge their phones.
This all seems very strange. Any suggestions or thoughts would be appreciated.
