  • My iPad was printing to my HP wireless printer and now it won't..any suggestions on what I might try to get it back?

I was able to print from my iPad to my wireless HP printer and now I can't.  Any suggestions on what to do to get it back?  Will resetting network settings help?

Are you getting any error messages - or is it just saying No Printers Found - if the latter this has happened to me - I have 2 networks on my airport express (my network and one for guest access0 - sometimes my iPad switches to the guest network which does not have wireless printer on it ( i dont know why it does this) - if i switch the iPad back to my network the printer shows up again
In fact see the No Printers Found message is a pretty good indication that the iPad has switched to the guest network

  • My Internet was messing up so I turned it off and on. It still wouldn't work so I turned my iPhone off and now it won't come back on. What can I do to fix it?

I was trying to fix the internet on my iPhone so I turned it off and back on, then it still wouldn't work so I i turned my iPhone off and now it won't turn back on. Now when it's plugged into the wall or the computer the Apple Logo comes up for about 6 seconds and turns off, then back on for another 6 seconds then turns off again and it just repeats, and it really frustrates me. What can I do to fix it?

I had a similar issue with my phone.....it just shut off and wouldn't come back on even thought it was charged.  My daughter toggled the mute switch several times and then she pressed and held down the home and lock buttons.  It worked......would be worth a shot.

  • Turned off iphone 5 to preserve its battery and now it won't turn back on

    Hello!
I've got my iPhone 5 16gb around 1 year now and today, i needed to preserve its battery life (97% remaining )so i turned it off. A few minutes in i needed to make a phone call but it won't turn back on. I've tried the recommended tips such as:
holding both home and lock screen button
    DFU mode
    Charging it
Nothing seems to work, i do not know whether the lock screen is broken or not or just whether its a battery or ios problem. Funny thing is that a few days before this incident, there was an 7.1.2 update so yeah idk. Please help. It will be a pain to buy another iPhone

    Hey there iDopey,
It sounds like you are currently unable to turn on your iPhone on or it is on, but the screen is black. First determine if the unit is on but has a black screen with this:
Display has no backlight or dark screen
Toggle the ringer switch to see if the unit vibrates. If it does, it could be that iPhone is getting power, but is not displaying any image.
Try turning iPhone off and then on again.
While connected to the iPhone charger, try to reset the iPhone.
If the low-battery screen appears, charge the iPhone.
If this is the case follow the last step in this post. If not, then move on to this section:
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.
If that still does not resolve the issue:
    Issue not resolved
My issue is still not resolved. What do I do next?

My ipod touch just turned off on me, the screen just turned off and now it wont turn on whatever i do. I tryed plugging it in to charge and pressing down on the hold button and home button but its not doing anything, How do i fix it? Not sure what my operating system is but i know i havent updated to the newest version.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Full Battery and MacBook Pro won't turn on

So I was working on my MacBook Pro making a slide show and my other computer needed some power so I unplugged my Pro and plugged it into my other computer. After about five minutes my MacBook Pro just shut down. I don't know what happened, but the power is full and when I press the power button it doesn't do anything. It's almost like the power button doesn't even work. Any help would be very appreciated!! I really need to get this slideshow done!

I recently had a very similar problem...  Last Monday I had been using my MBP for a presentation and by the end of the presentation my battery was DEAD.  That was ok b/c I wasn't planning on doing anything else that night...  The problem came the next day when AFTER CHARGING it would still not turn on. After trying ALL DAY to get my computer to start up, I finally had my mom take it out to the Apple Store and you probably won't like the answer that I got re: my MBP...
They said that there as a lot of dust that had gotten into it (I had had a couple of keys that had come off of my keyboard) They also said that the only way to get it working again was to do a COMPLETE & TOTAL OVERHAUL OF MY COMPUTER at a whopping cost of $1140.00 since a) my AppleCare expired in March and b) they said that there appeared to also be a little bit of OLD water damage!!
Because I am disabled and the only "work" that I do is volunteer for the non-profit organization that my mom & I founded (Dreams Fulfilled Through Music) I certainly don't have an extra $1140 sitting around to repair this!
What I finally ended up doing was going to a outside authorized Apple Repair Center where they removed the HD from my MBP (that runs 10.7.4) and put it into an enclosure so that I could still access my data (since my mom has an identical MBP).  this only cost me $114 and will allow me to save up for the repairs and or replacement of my computer.
The problem that I ran into now is that b/c my mom is almost constantly using her computer, I had to try to start up my older MBP with the external HD from my 3yr old MBP.  Unfortunately, my older MBP only has 2.16GHz of Processor speed & 2 GB of RAM and unfortunately is only running 10.4.11!! When I plugged in the external HD, I was able to see the drive & it's contents but when I attempted to "Start Up" this laptop from that disk w/ Mac OS X 10.7.4 on it, this laptop wouldn't recognize the new version of Mac OS X and thus wouldn't start up from that disk.
I've just about decided that I this (now 6 yr old computer) is SIMPLY NOT CAPABLE of starting up from the HD that was taken out of my newer (3 yr old) MBP!!
Does anyone know if this is in fact the case?
I truly hope that this is not the case with your MBP but I figured since our experiences were SO SIMILAR that I should at least share with you what AppleCare Geniuses told me about my computer!
I also hope that someone can also answer my question about starting up my older laptop from the newer HD.
    Take Care

  • TS3274 Ipad won't turn on no matter what I do.

Ipad will not turn on no matter what I do.  It remains off.

    Hi kdb,
Try holding down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them for 10-20 seconds. See if the Silver Apple appears. If it does, release the buttons and allow the iPad to reboot. Once it reboots, the Home screen will display.
    Cheers,

  • So my i just dropped my iPad and now it won't start up. It just keeps turning on and off. Like the apple symbol shows up and then goes away? What happened and is there a way to fix it. I tried restoring and that didn't work

I pretty much stated it in my question. I dropped my iPad and now it won't boot itself up. The apple symbol shows up, then the screen turns all black and weird looking with a strange green color at the bottom, and just turns off. It keeps doing this over and over. What happened and is there a way to fix it? I also tried connecting it to itunes and that doesn't seem to be working. It detects an ipad but can't seem to read anything else. It tells me to try and restore it but I can't. HELP!!!

Try this. It worked for a few users after a drop.
Turn the iPad over and give it a very HARD slap on the back. May take several slaps.

  • I was working on my iPad 1 and it turned off and now it won't turn back on.  It was 50% charged and even when I connect it to be charged it still won't turn on.  Is there a reset button?

I was working on my iPad and it turned off suddenly and now it won't turn back on.  It was at least 50% charged and when I tried to connect the charger it still will not come on.  Is there a reset button?

Thank you so much!  It worked, I was reading around and saw this has happened to a number of iPad users.  Thank you for your prompt response, I was so worried I broke it or something.

  • I was playing my iPad 2 I left the room for 5 minutes when I came back it was off and now it won't turn back on

    Try this.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • I have an ipad mini that won't power on. It was turned off to charge overnight. In the morning it was warm and now won't turn on no matter what I do. I've tried resetting using the power / home button combination and nothing works.

If you have owned the device, as in purchased from Apple, less than a year then there will be no charge to repair, or most likely, replace the device. If you have had the device more than a year you will be charged an out of warranty cost for replacement ($219 I think) and that is much cheaper than a new device. If you have Applecare+ then you have an additional year of coverage and the replacement will be $49 or $79 depending on when you got the Applecare.

  • HT4061 my ipad locked up and now it won't turn on

My Ipad locked up on me and now it won't even turn on

I've heard a lot of different theories on how to revive water-damaged iPods. You should search the forums--you will most likely get hundreds of similar posts. Methods I can think of off of the top of my head are:
    1. Put in a warm bowl of rice in a warm spot
    2. Put on a sunny windowsill for several hours
    3. (probably don't try unless you're totally desperate) put in a warm oven on a towel with the door open for a very short time
These are only a few options... if you use the search option you will find many, many more.

  • I reset my ipad 2 and now it won't connect to the internet

I reset my ipad and now it won't connect to the internet

Look at iOS Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections  http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398

iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4199
    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

  • IPod touch 3rd generation crashed while updating, and now it won't turn on, and it wont charge or be recognized in iTunes; it's been like this for 3 days now. Please help,..Thanks!

iPod touch 3rd generation crashed while updating, and now it won't turn on, and it won't charge or be recognized in iTunes because it's completely dead; it's been dead for 3 days now. I've tried pressing home/sleep buttons for reset but nothing works, I've tried using different usb ports to charge it, but nothing seems to work. Please help asap. ...Thanks!(:

After charging the iPod for half an hour, see if placing the iPod in recovery mode will allow iTunes to see the iPod so you can restore the iPod.  For recovery mode see:

  • Just upgraded macbook to Snow Leopard, and now itunes won't recognize my iphone.  I tried turning all off, and on.  I have the newest version of itunes.  Will I have to reset my iphone (and also ipod touch?), and if so, does it mean I lose anything?

I just upgraded macbook to SnowLeopard 10.6.3 and now itunes won't recognize my iphone.  I tried turning everything off and restarting.  I have the latest version of itunes.  If I have to reset the phone (and ipod touch), what does that mean?  Will I lose anything? How long will it take?  thanks

Start iTunes.  Make sure you really are running the version you think you are.  Sometimes people end up with two copies, different versions.

You say you are running Snow Leopard 10.6.3.  That version will not run the latest iTunes which requires 10.6.8  If you need iTunes 10.7 you have to be running 10.6.8
