TS3274 Small lock appearing on the top bar and display not rotating.

My apple ipad ii showing a small lock symbol on right top bar and the display is not rotating. This happened after kids were playing games. Any wrong key pressed or why?

The orientation lock is activated. To unlock, double click the home button to bring up the multitask bar, swipe from left to right until you see the orientation lock icon next to the media play controls. Tap on it to disable it, click the home button to return to the home screen.

I unchecked the 2nd song so a different song would be 2nd, no benefit; reset my ipod nano; shut down laptop and restarted a different time; shorted the number of songs to sync; all without benefit.

When you connect your ipod up to the computer. It should show the device, usually with the name of the device, in my case 'jordan's ipod'. This should be on the row which shows 'songs', 'albums' e.t.c on the far right. There when you click on it it should go to a different screen showing a picture of your ipod along with two buttons - Update and Restore. Click update and it should take a 2 mins while your ipod is updated to the latest version of Ios.
After updating te ipod see if there is a change in results.
PS: make sure the device is active while syncing so keep tapping the screen.

This could well be the notorious Mac Defender - which is an annoying program that tricks you into thinking that your Mac is infected with a virus, when the only infection is Mac Defender itself.
When surfing the web never EVER click on a link that says "Free anti-virus scan" or "Scan now" - they are nearly always scams which will end up infecting your computer. Although Macs are resistant to viruses, they're not resistant to user stupidity.
If you Google "Mac defender" then you'll find plenty of sites with instructions on how to remove this minor nuisance. Take this as a warning that you need to be more careful in your surfing habits.

Sounds like you are missing the Mail Toolbar.
Do you have a Menu Bar with File-Edit-View etc?
If not press the alt key to make it appear.
From the Menu Bar select View-Toolbars and turn the missing toolbars back on.
Write and Address Book are on the Mail Toolbar.
FYI: The alt key or F10 will make a missing toolbar appear in most applications.

I have all tabs set to open with Google search, but when I open a new tab and start typing, the letters appear in the address bar and not the Google search bar. It didn't used to be like this!

One of my set of home pages is the basic Google search page. When I open this, I can immediately start typing and the words appear in the Google search box.
If however I open a new tab (white cross far right of tab bar) and start typing, the words appear in the address bar, not in the Google search box. Of course once I click in the search box I can carry on: but I'd like to make it start there as it does with the homepage.

If you want a specific webpage (like the Google page) to always open when you open a New Tab, you can use the following add-on to Open New Tabs with your Favorite Pages:

Alright, well let's try this then.
Restart your computer. After you restart your PC, let's try starting Firefox up in Safe Mode. Read [[Safe Mode|this article]] to see how to start in Safe Mode. If Firefox starts up normally, then this is likely a problem with your extensions, so we will need to disable them one by one (or disable them all and re-enable them one by one) to figure out the offender.
Another thing is please update to Firefox 11 (go to [[www.getfirefox.com|www.getfirefox.com]] to download it since you can't get Firefox open to update). It does have some bug fixes that might help your problem.

My content library is grayed out in the top menu and does not appear in the sidebar. Cannot use.

I am using iMovie 10.0.3 on OS 10.9.3. Many features are grayed out. My whole content library being the most important. I can't even do any transitions.

My iMovie's (10.0.5) "content library" is greyed out as well in the menu bar. It does not even show up in the side bar. The content library is still there in iMovie 9. I recently updated Mac OS to Mavericks and iMovie updated itself. I am using an iMac (post 2007). I have tried a few things but to no avail yet. I closed iMovie 10, started iMovie 9, let it re-establish stuff, closed iMovie 9, found iMovieUpdated (not exact wording) files in Finder under User:Movies folder, deleted them, then restarted iMovie 10. I was hoping it would somehow reset itself, but no. I then trashed iMovie 10, logged out and back in, and updated back to iMovie 10 through the App Store: Purchases. No luck. I fixed permissions - no luck. Also, I am attempting to access the "content library" while in a project (not an event), since that is where I would expect it to show up and be useful.

My MacBook Air which is only 3 months old, keeps on losing internet connection. To reconnect I have to click on the internet icon on the top bar and click turn wi-fi off. I then have to click turn wi-fi on and it reconnects after a few seconds.

In every update the old cs6-updater appears at the menu-bar and blocks the cc-app (10.8 & 10.9)

i've to quit the cc-app and choose "update" from cs6-updater.
after that the cc-app starts and shows the upate correctly.
i've two cs6-apps installed next to the creative cloud.
i have seen this problem on osx 10.8 and 10.9.

Same here. Sometimes it appears, and sometimes it doesn't. And I don't understand why because it should have been deleted with the creative cloud app, as Adobe says.

I recently burned 2 cds of music onto itunes, the first cd of music synced and appears on my 2nd gen ipod touch, the 2nd cd only appears in the itunes library and will not sync

I tried to burn 2 cd's worth of music and two things happened:
1. 1st CD synced with my Ipod, but only as an album (touch 2nd gen) but, disappeared from itunes.
2. 2nd CD appears in my library but will now sync to my ipod
I have space left and am not at the 4GBgb limit.

I'm going to suggest a new Firefox profile in your wife's Windows profile. The following is a little long, but not difficult if you go step by step.
First, I recommend backing up your wife's Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
Next, with all Firefox windows closed, start up in the profile manager and create a new (blank) profile: [http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles Managing profiles].
Hopefully this one will be "hammer free" on first run and after closing down Firefox and restarting it in the new profile again. If so, the problem may have been one of your wife's add-ons. You have the choice to keep the problem profile and disable all non-essential add-ons, or migrate key settings to the new profile.
To move key settings like bookmarks from your damaged profile to the new profile, see: [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Recovering+important+data+from+an+old+profile Recovering important data from an old profile].
If the new profile also has the hammer, it could be created by an add-on in a separate folder. Please open Help > Troubleshooting Information and copy/paste the extensions and plugins in your reply.
