  • What code is needed to play mp4 video in IE9

I have been everywhere looking for a solution to this. I only get references which talk about what the problems, the issues, and what needs to be done but does not provide the actual html code that should be inserted into DW that will actually make it work in IE9.
I place .mp4, .ogv, .webm code that works in Chrome, Apple, Android, and Firefox browsers but NOT IE9. Can anyone help with this? It has been a very frustrating experience.
    Thanks!

    Hi Hans,
I try and am happy to acknowledge the help.
I am an interactive course developer who has worked with Flash for over 12 years. It has been super for both the desktop and the web for my clients. I was able to produce one set of data that worked in all environments. Now that the Flash player in browsers is going away I must recreate the courses in html5. I have been using multi media since the beginning and now I find so many roadblocks for even the simple things that Flash handled automatically. Video is a prime example.
Unfortunately all of the courses I have developed for the customers are proprietary to their internal workforce and I am unable by contract to share any. Sorry!
In the example you provided, the video pops up in a separate player floating off the main page. Is it possible to embed the video in the page like the other formats I must use such as webm and ogv?

  • What Do Users Need to Play SWF

I am creating a training video with Captivate 2 for our
federal government agency. When I'm finished, I'm going to publish
it as an .SWF file. One of the guys who designs on our web pages
asked me what program users need to view the Captivate.swf file.
The answer is apparently is either Shockwave or the Adobe Flash
Player. Or could it be either one? I'm obviously confused about
this. If the users in our federal govt. agency don't have the
correct software, they can't play the .swf file.
Can someone please clarify this issue for me? Do the users
need Shockwave, Adobe Flash, or can both applications play .swf
    files?
    Thanks,
    Robert

What generation of iPod Touch?  If it has the older 30-pin connector, just plug it into the dock.  If it has a new lightening connector, you need lightening to 30-pin cable from Apple ($39 online at the Apple US store).

  • FF wont play certain videos in websites

FF wont play certain video formats
I have FF "4.4.10" but when browsing some websites it will not play the video, instead displays messages: 'Plugins are req'd to display media on this page',
'FLASH OR HTML5 browser req for video playback' !!!! yet they play perfectly in Chrome no messing.
This happens on both a WinXP (FF v16) and a Win7 laptop.
A recent example video that wont play: http://www.fudzilla.com/home/item/29152-gopro-launches-its-hero3-cameras.
I read FLASH is highly discredited, so dont want to install it.
I thought FF was supposed to play HTLM5 videos 'out of the box' without need of 'Addons' ?
what do I need to do to play the above video ?
(I then want to save the video using the VideoDownloader addon installed)

Google Chrome comes with its own version of the Flash plugin.<br />
Firefox needs its own Flash plugin, so make sure that the Flash plugin for Firefox is installed.
Do you have the Flash plugin installed and does the test site confirm that the plugin works?

You may need to run the Flash installer as Administrator (right-click: Run as -> Administrator).

  • I can't play certain videos from the internet on my macbook

I can't play certain videos from the internet on my macbook.
When using Sarfari or Google Chome, I am unable to play some videos on the internet. News clips, posted videos on blogs, and tv episodes from their own network websites. Youtube videos are fine. I doesn't make sense.
I tried downloading an update for quicktime, but the computer claims that quicktime is up to date. Yet, the videos and tv episodes don't play.
I have checked for the most recent software updates, and everything is up to date. Nothing is wrong with the hardware either.
Any suggestions would be awesome! Thank you!

In addition to Flash, you might need some other plugins.  Microsoft videos are mostly in Silverlight, and you'll want Flip4Mac to play WMVs.  Perian contains codecs for pretty much every video online.

Why does Quicktime tell me it can't play certain videos created with my Phantom 2 v3 drone ? I fly the drone and switch back and forth from video to still pics and while I may have filmed four videos , sometimes Quicktime tells me that one of them can't be played . Checking the info shows that each of the unplayed videos was saved in the same mp4 format as the playable ones yet some of my most important videos won't play . It's getting very frustrating .

first; I use Perian, that helps even though it is no longer supported, (must have for avi files)
the apple-cores at apple have gotten very sloppy -- quicktime is a bit finicky and flakey.
example,   occasionally (when copy file from quad's card to hard drive)  the avi will show up as a 'mov' file and qt plays it no problem and no conversion.
but that is very occasionally,  most of the time qt won't convert the file,   -- iMovie won't open an avi without Perian installed  ,  I don't know how that effects qt.
qt 7"pro" is no good either, (qt 10 does everything it does and for NOT the extra $35)
I have gone to VLC  and MPlayerX  for direct playback for drones and cameras.

  • What program allows me to create a video by zooming, turning, or peeling a photograph?

what program allows me to create a video by zooming, turning, or peeling a photograph?

    Hi Gnika2953,
You can do some simple video creation in Photoshop although it is primarily an image editing app. The next two programs that come to mind would be a video editing app like Premiere Elements and a motion graphics/special effects program like After Effects. If you are a beginner I would suggest starting out with the trial of Premiere Elements.

I want to build a facebook game similar to Monster Legends.   It will have turn based pvp, leader boards, guilds, leveling, rankings, quests, various currencies, teams, jobs/professions, vendors, story modes, customizable characters, customizable skill sets, skill trees, various drop rates eg. low and high chances of certain items dropping from kills.    What programs are required to create a game like this?   Can it be done using only Adobe products?

Have you ever developed a game before? I only ask because there is a lot involved in doing so and you listed a long list of features you wish to accomplish. The game you mentioned was developed by Social Point, most of their games are for Facebook as well as a few for iOS, you can begin to see some of the technologies they leverage by looking at their job openings. They mention things such as: Illustrator, Flash, C++, Lua, Java, Air, Actionscript, MySQL, Apache, PHP, Python, PHP, Ruby, etc., and no doubt more is involved as well.
As you can see a lot goes in to games such as these. If you wish to try and leverage Flash you would need to learn and become very proficient with AS3 if you are not already familiar with it, you would also need to also know or learn backend technologies for your leader boards, etc., Again there is a lot involved with this type of development. Of course I am not trying to discourage you but want you to know the road ahead may involve a lot of learning as games themselves can be very sophisticated applications regarding development.
Here are some resources for Flash that may get you started if thats the direction you wish to take:

There are other possible alternatives also besides Adobe products such as Corona SDK, etc..

  • What programs I need for this?

Hello, I know which program do what is in the home, (people moving). It seems that appears before you load an image to the animation. (Http://www.thesingularkitchen.com/)
    Or (http://agencynet.com/) --->  people animated
Excuse me for my poor English.
    Thank you very much!

They use Flash for delivery. You'll need some kind of video editor like Premier, Final Cut Pro, Vegas or even After Effects for basic editing like cuts and wipes.
Of course, you'll need lots of talent in Photoshop to get 3d effects or pretty good in any 3D app and then finishing in Photoshop.
But, those little videos are .flv's  which can be made with the Flash Media Converter that comes with Flash. However, there are free online services such as onlinemediaconverter.com where you upload a file and specify the conversion.

  • What Program Is Needed for .SWF?

I think I posted a similar question in the wrong forum, I
    apologize for that.
I'm in the process of creating my first Captivate 2 Training
Video at our federal agency. When I'm finished, I will publish the
.cp file as an .SWF file that will be posted onto our Intranet Web
Site, so users can run the Training Video any time they want.
Here's my Captivate newbie question. Our agency is using IE6
for Intranet and Internet access. What program or programs will the
users at our agency need to run the .swf Training Video? I'm very
confused about the differences between Flash and Shockwave.
    Thanks,
    Robert

    Hi Robert
The other files will vary, depending on your choices when you
published. In a nutshell, I'll list them here.
    Files you commonly see
    * MainMovie.SWF (Contains the main part of your movie)
    * MainMovie_skin.SWF (Contains the playback controls and
other information - You may banish this file and force the controls
into the MainMovie.SWF by clicking Project > Skin... >
Borders tab and DE-selecting the "Show Borders" check box.
    * MainMovie.HTM (This is the HTML file used to present the
movie to your user. Contains sizing information and also looks for
    the fourth file, standard.js)
    * standard.js (Contains code used by the HTML file)
Files you may see if different selections are used:
MainMovie_fs.HTM (Created when you select the Full Screen
option. If this file exists, you point your user to it instead of
the MainMovie.HTM. When launched, it contains a link that opens the
movie in a browser without toolbars and such)
MainMovie.ZIP (If you use the .ZIP files option, this is the
    only file you will find.
autorun.inf (If you use the autorun option, this file is
created for you to burn to the CD to autostart it in a PC)
    Hopefully this helps... Rick
