  • How can I turn on the Location service of my iPad 2 32 GB?

I just bought an iPad 2 and iPhone 4 yestersday.
I want to turn on the location services on my iPad 2 32 GB. When I go to settings > Location Services, I saw it was off then i tried to turn it on, but however, the on and off slide is grey.... that means I cannot slide the location services from off to on.
    What can I do then?
I check already , the internet connection is fine.
I try with my iPhone 4 with the same network same place.....but it works properly.
Anyone experiencing the same problem with me?
    Any solutions?

Are you sure your iPad has an active wifi connection when you're trying to use location services?  If it is connected, then go to Settings>General>Reset>Reset network settings. If that fails then try rebooting the device by pressing and holding the on/off and home buttons simultaneously until the screen goes blank and you see the apple logo. It should take about 10-15 seconds to reboot.

  • . Location Services is open, do you need my icloud information to find position of  my ipad ?

Can You  find my ipad mini 2 ? My ipad mini 2 was stolen, and I closed the Find my ipad function. Location Services is open, do you need my icloud information to find position of  my ipad ? I really wanna my ipad mini 2 back, I love it  soooooooo much.

This is a user to user forum. We cannot find your iPad.
To Find your iPad you must have turned on find my iPad in iCloud settings on your device, and log into icloud.com, and use the"Find My iPhone" feature there to attempt to track it.

  • TS3274 How come My location services aren't working, I've reset the location warnings.

How come My location services aren't working, I've reset the location warnings.

For location the iPod uses the location of nearby routers that are in Apple's database of routers and their location. Thus it appears that Apple's database is incorrect. You do not have to be connected to the router, just within range.
Apple periodically updates their database based on information they obtain from iPhones, The iPhone has to have turned on the option to send info to Apple. no one has found another way to get the location of a router added/corrected.
You can confirm that by going to well-know place with wifi like Starbucks or McDonalds

  • TS4006 Can you activate location services on a device that has it turned off?

I can't locate my ipad using the "find my iphone" app because the "location services" is turned off on my device.  Am I able to remotely turn on "location services" via the cloud or through the app itself?

Unfortunately you cannot enable it remotely.  It has to be done on the device itself.

  • My location service it's not working even I turn on the location services button in privacy setting

I recommend first trying to reset location services...go to setting>general>reset>Reset location and privacy

  • My location services tab wont give me option of turning on?

tying to check in . says location services are disabled...gone into main menu generel-location services  but the on off button does not give me option of moving it or even light up?

Do the basic troubleshooting steps described in the User Guide (Appendix B), as needed:
    Restart phone
    Reset phone
Restore in iTunes using a backup
Restore in iTunes as new, without using a backup

  • Apple Configurator to turn on Location Services on Several iPads?

I use Apple Configurator to manage several iPads. How do I turn on Location Services on all my iPads? The option to this is not available on each iPad individually because of the restrictions I set using Configurator.
    Thanks,

  • Locations services

I did the update this weekend and now the locations services icon is in the upper right hand corner all the time, it never used to be. I went into settings/privacy/locations services to turn it off but then it turns it off within all the apps i've allowed it to locate where i am. It never used to do this, when opening an app it would ask if i want to turn it on and it would only be on for that app. Is there a way to turn if off and get the icon out of the corner of my phone, having it on constantly drains my battery faster.

If something on the phone - any app for example - is using location services, then no, the symbol; will NOT turn off.

  • I disabled Location Services and now I want to enable.

I disabled Location Services but now I wish to enable it. Both Location Services and Find My Phone app cannot be highlighted. How can I restore Location Services once it has been turned off? Thanks!

    Hello john r.from ma,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at:
    iOS 7: Understanding Location Services
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5594
Turning Location Services on or off
You can turn Location Services on or off at Settings > Privacy > Location Services. You can turn Location Services on either during the Setup Assistant process or later through the Location Services setting. You can turn it off if you don't want to use this feature or to conserve battery life. You can individually control which apps and system services have access to Location Services data.
Settings > Privacy > Location Services
Settings > Privacy > Location Services > System Services
By enabling Location Services, location-based system services such as these will also be enabled:
Popular Near Me: Your iPhone will periodically send locations of where you have purchased or used Apps in an anonymous and encrypted form to Apple to improve a crowd-sourced database that may be used to offer geographically-relevant Apps.
Frequent Locations: Your iPhone will keep track of places you have recently been, as well as how often and when you visited them, in order to learn places that are significant to you. This data is kept solely on your device and won't be sent to Apple without your consent. It will be used to provide you with personalized services, such as predictive traffic routing.
Location-Based iAds: Your iPhone will send your location to Apple in order to provide you with geographically relevant iAds.
    Best of luck,
    Mario

  • How can I turn on location services as my iphone5 does not allow me too

My location services is greyed out so I cannot turn it on? Any ideas how I can re- activate it?

If this phone is NOT coprorate configured:
Settings > General > Restrictions > (scroll down to Privacy) Location Sevices > Allow Changes

  • New iMovie app for iPhone 4 not showing up in Location Services (Settings)

iMovie app for iPhone 4 not showing up in Location Services (Settings). It apprently needs to be both viaible and turned on in Settings/General/Location Services in order for the app to discover previously taken video (Location Services correctly recognizes other apps of mine that utilize location-aware services).
I think the following is related to and caused by this problem above: iMovie App for iPhone 4 is not recognizing video clips I have made, whether they're in Photo Album, or iPhone 4 native movies that have been throughout this process: [sync with iPhoto on Mac > save to to iPhoto album > sync album to iPhone 4].

Just had this same problem. The solution is to turn Location Services on before launching iPhone iMovie.
Yes, iMovie needing GPS coordinates is crazy, as is the error message that doesn't correctly explain the problem. Looks like a bit of a rush job.

  • HT5594 After updating to iOS7 on my iPhone4 I cannot enable location services. How do I enable location services? I have tried turning off restrictions but that did not work.

After updating to iOS7 on my iPhone 4 I cannot enable location services. How do I enable location services? I have tried turning off restrictions but that did not work.

I finally just resolved this after not being able to enable location services since upagrading to iOS 7. Posting the solution here 'cause I couldn't find it anywhere else.
I enabled Restrictions under Settings > General > Restrictions and created a passcode (I'm not sure if this was part of the solution, but it wasn't enabled for me by default.)
In Restrictions, under Privacy, Location Services was set to "Allow Changes" (This still didn't solve the issue of the greyed-out Location Services switch though - I still couldn't turn it on.)
Also in Restrictions, I also switched "Find My Friends" to "Allow Changes"
Once I did step 3, the switch under Settings > Privacy > Location Services was no longer greyed out and could be switched on.
    Hope this helps!
