TS3276 after 10.6.8 update I can no longer receive email
I can no longer receive email after 10.6.8 update. I also just moved to iCloud. Can anyone help me?
What changed, before you could no longer save image attachments to iPhoto?
Did you install new software or upgrade to newer versions? Which version of iPhoto are you using?
The "Save to iPhoto" feature has been missing for some iPhoto versions. I do not remember exactly when it vanished, but it is back with iPhoto 9,6 and MacOS X 10.10.2.
As a work-around - you can drag photo attacuments from your mail to the iPhoto icon in the Dock to save them to iPhoto.

Quit Mail and restart.
Select each of your mailboxes and select Rebuild under the Mailboxes menu.
If those don't help, then reinstall Yosemite:
Reinstall Lion, Mountain Lion, Mavericks or Yosemite without erasing drive
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu.

OS X Mountain Lion- Reinstall OS X
OS X Lion- Reinstall Mac OS X
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet
if possible because it is three times faster than wireless. -
I have an older computer and can no longer update. After the latest Apple update I can no longer access my e-mail on my mac. I can view it on my iphone and on icloud. Is there a solution to this problem?
Apple changed MobileMe to iCloud and then restricted iCloud to 10.7 users only unfortunately
If your machine is a 64 bit processor Intel Mac you can upgrade to 10.7 for $29, however a lot of your 10.5/10.6/Rosetta based software could cease to function, especially third party hardware drivers for printers, fax machines, all-in-ones, scanners etc.

Also depending how old the machine is, if it can accept 4GB of RAM (preferred), older video card, may not run 10.7 very well or stable.
My advice is to keep at 10.6.8, get a web based email service that's plaform/hardware neutral, forward your iPhone emails there. Gmail/Yahoo Mail for instance.
When your ready for new hardware and all new software, then buy a new machine.
If your going to go to 10.7 on your present hardware, I advise you clone 10.6.8 to a external drive first, that way you can c boot off the 10.6 disk erase the drive completely (necessary to remove hidden Lion Recovery Partition) and option boot off the 10.6.8 clone and reverse clone.

After the most recent update, I can no longer access stand alone GPS services. What's up with that? I am now forced to use google location services which use up some of my data allotment.
ddmathias, I want to make sure all services are working correctly on your phone. What GPS services were you using before the update happened? What kind of issues are you having with the services? Do you get any kind of errors? Please keep us posted.

I want to update iCloud account with new apple id but don't know password for old apple id. Plus can no longer receive email at old apple id. How can I delete the current iCloud account on my iPhone if the previously stated conditions exist?
If the old ID is yours, and if it is an earlier version of your current ID, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

Reboot the printer. Reboot the router. On the pad, general, reset, reset network connections.
Make sure all the devices are on the same wifi network. Talk nice to it. -
I just updated to 10.8.2 and now i can no longer wake my macbook froom standby when the lid is closed, it directly goes back to sleep
steps to reproduce:
1. attach secondary monitor and keyboard
2. close lid
3. wait 5 seconds for going to standby
4. press any key on keyboard and type in user-credentials (notice how the 2nd monitor becomes the mainscreen)
5. wait 5 seconds
6. standby again
side note:
i also have sudo nvram boot-args="iog=0x0" enabled, because i like to not use the integrated screen when its attached to a secondary screen, but since it goes back to standby right after login this is pretty much pointlessSame here, I think changed something in 10.8.2 that wrecked the "Open-MBP Clamshell Mode." sigh

Help!!! i can no longer receive emails - NOT GOOD!!!
Please help! i received a message from blackberry stating that i needed to validate my password for my email in the balckberry internet service. it has given me instructions on how to do that, however, it's not taking my user name nor my password. so, I tlogged on to blackberry internet services but no where can i find the "email accounts" page! I have got to have my emails thru the weekend...PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!!
Easiest way is to call your carrier and they can step you through the setup on their website.

You can also go to email setup on your phone and try to put in the password info there.
Another option:
Go to this link from your phone: mobile.blackberry.com
On that page, Scroll to Communicate, click on Email, choose the type of email account and setup your email from there.

After latest Photoshop CC update, I can no longer edit a raw file in Lightroom 4 as a smart object
I updated PS this morning, since then I am no longer able to edit a file in LIghtroom 4 as a smart object in Photoshop CC. Photoshop will open, but after some time passes, Lightroom 4 gives an error that Photoshop cannot be launched. If I choose "edit in photoshop" from lightroom, instead of "edit as smart object", the file opens fine.

After my recent iphone update I can no longer print via "airprint" to my HP B110... help
when trying to print emails, I select "print", select the B110 that comes up on the printer list, then ask to print. I get a screen saying "contacting printer", then "preparing" then nothing....
I can print wirelessly from the laptops. All systems are on the same network. I have downloaded an HP Eprint app and try to print from there via Airprint, but again nothing. However, when I try to find a printer, nothing comes up from the search.
I am thinking maybe I need to alter settings on my iphone somewhere, but not sure. All was ok before the update...

CheersSince it is affecting all your devices also, try going to the e-mail web site and seeing if you can log in there. Who is the e-mail provider?
Try deleting the pass word from Applications/Utilities/Keychain Access.
If that doesn't work, try deleting and adding back the e-mail account. -
Every time I try to delete my messages, I will delete and then restart the app or it won't work. When I restart the app, it takes me to an empty message screen and then will completely freeze. My phone will vibrate like I am receiving messages, but nothing shows up on my phone. Recovering the phone is not working, as the computer no longer recognizes the phone as a device.

If your Messages app is still behaving unexpectedly, then based on the symptoms you are describing I would troubleshoot the software by first quitting the running apps on the device:
iOS: Force an app to close
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that restart the device and test the issue again:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
