  • Mail: Synchronize IMAP to access all Emails Offline

    Hi,
how do I synchronize my IMAP account to access all my emails offline ?
    Thanks !

Seriously, no answer to such a simple problem ?

  • Email offline reading

WHat is the best email app for ios? Also is there any way to read emails offline on the default ios app. If not, are there apps that save these emails for later?

I had hoped to avoid that, but will test it -- but I am not so sure the iPad/Mail app isn't functioning "as it should" - my reading in various places is that this is a feature and expected conduct of Mail, that while you can click on a folder and a # of its contents download for reading offline, it doesn't automatically download all mail into all folders [for instance, Folder B holds a topic on my MbPro and it's empty on the iPad until while I am on WiFi I click the folder to download the contents....I want it to autosync for offline reading, not require me to click on the folder to have it done...]
will look into deleting and readding the accounts, but that's been done before without a change...but will see....

  • Email offline, email offline

aol email offline... cannot seem to get it back online

My aunt, who still uses AOL, has been complaining about AOL's email service for the past couple of weeks. I even received some bounce-backed messages that I had sent her.
Before seeing if there's a problem with your email client you should contact AOL support to see if they're still having problems with their servers.

  • TS3276 Email account always offline???

My email account information always show my account as offline. I receive most messages but must always specify my account manually to gp online. what need I do? Only happens on my Macbook. On my imac the same account functions fine.

I'm having the same issue. It started a couple weeks ago when I changed the password of one of my iMap accounts. I've repaired permissions, deleted the keychain password items associated with the problem account and even deleted com.apple.mail.plist located in my home directory->library->preferences. None of these actions has solved the problem. I've searched the rest of the Internet but haven't found any suggestions for actions other than those already tried. This particular email account works fine with another client on my Android phone and via webmail so having an incorrect password isn't the problem.
Do you know of any files containing cached information that can be safely trashed?
As I type this it occurs to me that I didn't empty my trash after deleting the com.apple.mail.plist file. I'll try that now.

  • Lost messages when sending email offline with iOS6?

I'm using iOS6 on an iPad 3rd generation, WiFi only.
When I'm in airplane mode, or I'm not connected to a Wifi access point I can compose e-mail messages and press Send, and rather than getting an error saying I'm offline, the iPad displays the "sending" progress bar and makes the "wooshing" noise that it normally does if it were offline, but obviosuly the mail isn't sent - 'cos I'm not online.
However, when I connect to  Wifi point, the e-mail isn't sent - the mail doesn't appear in the sent folder, and it's not in a Drafts folder either, so I can't attempt to resend.
I'm getting the same behaviour for both an Exchange and an IMAP/SMTP account.
Both worked previously with iOS 5 (you'd get an error and it wouldn't send the message until you connect to an access point).
Is anyone else seeing the same problem? Any pointers to a fix or work-around?
    Many thanks,
    Mike

I have experienced a similar problem. Having sent an email and heard it go (the "wooshing" noise) I noticed a few minutes later the small symbol next to my btinternet mail box indicating that it had lost touch with its server or gone offline. I didnt think much of this but the next day I noticed that this email is not in my sent emails ( I double checked by logging into my BTemail account online and it is not in the sent email folder there either). The email was not sent, and is not saved as a draft. That's 30 minutes work gone to waste and the only reason I have found out is that I suspect this has happened before so I made  a point of checking sent items. On previous occasions I have thought that maybe I deleted the email by mistake, or didnt press send or made some other mistake. This time though I definately pressed send, definately heard the wooshing noise, and the email is now gone.
The solution would seem to be to stop using Apple's Mail system to send emails and log into the mail account on line.

  • View Archived Email Offline on Mac

I need to search through my archive of over 35,000 emails. So I made a copy of the ofb9iarc folder (it contains all the archived files).
At home, I installed gw701lnxc and when I run the app, the login window appears. I put my password, but the login returns an invalid-password error.
I know it's because I'm offline... But can I just use the client to view the archived emails?
Is there a simple "Groupwise Email Viewer" that can just browse archived email messages?
    HELP!
    - Charles
PS: Yes, I did point the archive path to the ofb9iarc folder.

    To vchiarelli
    >I believe GW wants
    >the path pointed to one folder above that.
Yes, it does need to be the directory above the archive directory

  • How to read emails offline w graphics, pictures?

My Macbook Pro 5,1 is running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 with Mail 4.6. When I connect to the Internet, sporadically only because of still having no electricity after Sandy, my IMAP emails download just fine, but when I go to read them offline they have no graphics at all. Some senders are so enamored of graphics (HTML is it?) the whole email message is blank, with a few place holders only.
Is there a way to set things up so that the graphics are retained for offline reading?
So far I've been deleting the ones I can't read at all, it's the other ones that are becoming frustrating. Just enough text to entice you. I don't expect the links to work, nor the POP3 account.
Interestingly enough, it's one of my Windows newsletters that's most readable. Under the circumstances I don't even run my Bootcamped Windows....

When your downloading your email to your iPhone. The handheld is only downloading a small portion of the email ( pre determined internally). It doesnt seem to be adjustable on the phone. So if it is larger than that predetermined size it will wait until you read it to download the whole message. If there is an attachment you will have to be online to download and view.

Email response went to outbox, tried to resend and email freezes..will not allow cancellation, or any other action

Was this an unusual mail message in any way, such as a message with a very large attachment?  If so, it may not be permitted by the mail server.
If you mean that all of Mail.app is currently wedged, then option-click (and hold) on the Mail.app icon in the dock and (when the popup appears) select force quit.
If Mail.app is not wedged (and if it's just this message that's stuck), then ignore this and don't force-quit mail.  Just Quit from mail.
Take your network offline.  (If Mail.app is working, you can take all your mail accounts offline, but shutting off WiFi or removing your wired connection will work well enough for the purposes here.)
Relaunch Mail.app and select Mailbox > Rebuild from the menu.
Then select the Window > Connection Doctor from the menu, and see if any errors are reported.
    Then nuke the message.
Then reconnect your network, or take your mail accounts back online.

  • Email offline

    Hi all,
Odd issue. I am using the built in Mac mail program. Every once in awhile my Optonline.net mail goes offline in the Mac mail program. If I go and try it in outlook it is working fine. If I use time machine and restore my mail settings back a day it works great until the next time it decides to go offline again.
This is only for sending mail.

My aunt, who still uses AOL, has been complaining about AOL's email service for the past couple of weeks. I even received some bounce-backed messages that I had sent her.

  • Accessing IMAP email offline - can this be done?

I have a load of IMAP enabled email accounts including a GMail account, and a business email that goes through GMail (and Google Apps). The question is, is there anyway I can have Apple Mail still have access to the folders and messages in Mail when our (rather flaky) internet goes down? I have a desktop and laptop, as well as an iPhone, and IMAP is keeping things in sync perfectly, it's just a pain that when the connection drops out access to emails and their attachments in various folders is not possible.
    Many thanks,
    Ben

    Hi Roger,
Thanks for your quick reply - that's what I thought but I just wanted to double check. I guess as of yet we can't have the best of both worlds - the sync-across-devices-ability of IMAP and the offline ability to read emails and attachments of POP...?
    Thanks,
    Ben

  • TS3276 email was hacked, can open email on yahoo (after changing passwords) but cannot open mail on my computer, cannot even access mail because it will not accept my user name or password and I am unable to reset my account

email was hijacked and spam/virus link sent out to all of my contacts on wed at 4:21AM..... with the Subject as Rep: My Name or My email address and a link to a web page discussing making money working at home.  Could not get into any of my mail, on the web or on Mail on my mac.  After a phone call to automated support through Yahoo through ATT, I was given a temporary password and was able to reset my Yahoo password and get email on the internet.  I still cannot open my Mail Account on either my iMac or MacBook Pro.  I cannot get into Mail, period.  My sign in keeps popping up and it keeps telling me that my user name or password is incorrect.  I tried my old password, the temporary password and the new password.  Nothing is working,  I cannot receive or send anything in Mail.  Mail is Frozen.  If I want my email, I must go to the web and sign into Yahoo Mail.
    Help!

When you were entering your new password in mac mail for your Yahoo account, you didn't perchance change the user name from [email protected] to just name without the @att.net? I only ask because I've done that, and att.yahoo mail requires a fully qualified [email protected] for access.
In mail, you might click on window on the menu bar, then connection doctor. On the account with the red dot next to it, it will tell you why it can't connect, and if you click on it, you'll be taken to where you can fix it.
