TS3276 I can receive Emails on 2 accounts on my Ipad & Iphone but only one account on my mac

I have two acoounts for home and can only recieve emails  on one of them since 6 hrs ago . I have sent tests from account a to acount band b is recieving send from b to a and no good. Helllpp

If you have made no changes to the configurations of your mail clients within the last week or so - some time well prior to when things stopped working - then please contact your ISP for assistance troubleshooting the failing account.

    Thank you for heading me in the right direction.  I reset my Mail account for Outgoing Mail Server to outbound.att.net:(customer ID)@att.net (instead of smtp.att.yahoo.com, per Apple's online troubleshooting information).   I'm not sure what "(Offline)" means when it appears at the end of my Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)??  In the Advanced box I clicked on "Use custom port:  465" and checked "Use Secure Sockets Layer."  Authentication:  Password; I have correct User Name and Password put in.  After doing all this, when I try to send emails again today, they go directly to the Outbox and sit there. 
    What's curious is that my first sent email this morning did go out using the Outgoing Mail Server, smtp.att.yahoo.com: (customer ID)@att.net(Offline) but subsequent emails I tried to send with this server were rejected with the message:  "Cannot send message using the server smtp.att.yahoo.com (etc.).  The SMTP server doesn't support TLS(SSL) on port 587.  Verify your account settings and try again."  That's when I tried resetting my Outgoing Mail Server to outbound.att.net (etc.), as mentioned above, and was unsuccessful in sending out any further emails.  I guess my next step is to contact my email service provider, AT&T, and see if they can help me.  Thanks, again, for taking the time to respond and for giving me your input!  Much appreciated!

    You need to open Mail>Preferences>Accounts>"Account Information" tab>and there input the required information for your Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP).  Your Internet Service Provider will have the required information to give you to input here.  Make sure that you also click at the end of the line "Outgoing Mail Server" on the arrows to get the dropdown list, and there click on "Edit SMTP Server List" and fill in the data in that resulting window also.

    Do your children have separate user accounts on the shared mac? They can have their own user accounts with their own AppleIDs, but you could put the iTunes Library into a shared folder, or better an external drive with the ignore ownership option set.

  • IPod skipping iTMS songs - but only one account

    I'm not sure what my iPod is exactly. It's a 40GB mono screen iPod, about five years old. I thought that made it a 'classic' but perhaps not... anyway.
    Since I updated iTunes last, the update deauthorised my accounts on my MacBook. One of these was my current account and I've got that up and running again fine. The second one was an old account from when I was on AOL which the nice Apple people kindly helped me convert into an Apple ID account and that, too, is now running again on my MacBook.
    The weird thing is that that account won't play on my iPod. It just skips through all those songs.
    It will however play them if I connect my iPod to my MacBook and play through the MacBook speakers. I've tried authorising it but it says my accounts are already authorised and anyway, I don't think that's quite how you do it on an iPod.
    I'm sure it's something fairly simple but it's getting frustrating now.
    I have tried doing a hard reset on the iPod, holding down Menu and the centre button but it still skips through songs on this one account.
    Your help would be greatly appreciated.

    Roaming: Heck! I think you are right. I'm not at home right now to check so I think I can check on that only through itunes. But, as I now recall, this happened to me before. These are all Christmas songs and I set them to skip after Christmas so "by artist" they are not included. The 158 are tracks added since last year and I forgot to set. Ugh!

  • Have 4 accounts... need to have only one account!

    santa dropped off four devices this year.  two are ipad and two are ipod touch.  on christmas eve I busily created an the gmail email account and then the apple id so christmas morning we weren't messing around getting them online.
    what I didn't know is that when ipad (a) buys an app, ipad (b) can't use or see it.  if we buy angry birds for one, we must buy angry birds for the other.  I just know created a 5th email account on gmail AND a 5th apple id.  i now need to change the setting on each of the four devices to reflect just the one user account for apps and such and still be able to use the other four email / apple accounts for facetime.  i would really like skype but i can get it to work properly.
    any thought, suggestion... guidance would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

    i created a "master" 5th account.  i have assigned that account to ALL four devices and now I have another question.
    facetime is the apple skype like app.  when each device had its our account, i was easily able to facetime between devices quick and easy by simply clicking the apple id each individual device.  how do i make that happen now?  if they haven't work it out somehow i will be amazed and the ipad, ipod, itunes couldn't be more easy.  i am a pc guy... always have been, forgive me!  and thank you in advance for your continued assistance!

    I have a hard time describing this exactly, so I copied this from another thread. This seems to be a recent issue with AOL email accounts on the iPad the past few days. I have two AOL accounts and they work fine. See if this works for you.
    +If you cannot send, under the smtp server your user name and password must be entered even though the prompt tells you it is optional.  As a mobile device the port used is different from the one I would normally use if at home and therefore validation is required by use of the password.  The normal port for the smtp server is 110 but to use on a mobile unit like the iPad port 587 is used.+
    The big thing is to make sure that your username and password are filled in - Select your email account in the Mail setting and tap on the arrow next to the smtp server under the Outgoing Mail Server and then tap on the arrow next to smtp server under the Primary Server and fill in the information in there.
    Some times you have to resort to deleting the account and starting over again.

    Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
    Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

    I am using a brand new iPhone 4 with iOS 5.0.1. I can receive emails from Gmail without any problems, but when trying to send emails I get the error message "the connection to the outgoing server 'smtp.gmail.com' failed. Additional outgoing mail servers can be configured in settings..."
    After spending many (!!!) hours on this, I suspect it comes down to one setting in "mail, contacts, calendar", then gmail account information > outgoing mail server > smto.gmail.com; authentication is preset on "MD5 Challenge". This text is grey and cannot be altered. I assume the setting must be "password" instead, but how the *** can I change this?
    Desperate. Please enlighten me!

    That sounds like a settings issue to me. Check with your IT depatment to make sure you have it configured properly.
