TS3276 Lion mail;  sent emails show up in the draft folder as well as the sent folder.  Often the draft will appear a day after the email was actually sent

Lion mail
Emails that have been Sent show up in the Draft folder as well as th e Sent folder.
Often they may not show up in Draft folder until the next day.
Is there a correction for this?

no,  I only use mac as my incoming and outgoing server.
What I did was un check the draft box in the mail preferences,
and will see if that works.  Since I use only the computer for emails
the cloud isnt being used to its max anyway.
Thanks taking time to share

Your last post is blank, which happens a lot to users who try accessing the forum through email rather than its web interface.
You are also in the wrong forum here.  We don't do Ps Elements here.

    Go into settings

  • I need help proving the date tag on a photo stored in my iPhoto is from the date it was sent to my iphone/date it was imported into iphoto - and that it is NOT the date the photo was actually taken.  Please help!

I need help proving the date tag on a photo stored in my iPhoto is from the date it was sent to my iphone/date it was imported into iphoto - and that it is NOT the date the photo was actually taken.   I recieved a photo via text on my iphone and then I synced my iphone to my macbook and now it is in iphoto.  I already know that the date on the photo per the tag that shows up on it in iphoto is NOT the date the photo was actually taken.  I need article or literature or something confirming the tag is from when it was sent to the iphone and/or when it was imported.  I greatly appreciate some assistance!

All I am trying to do is find something on a forum board or article etc stating that the the date showing in iphoto could be the date it was imported or synced or sent to me and not the actual date taken.
The date on the photo could be anything because you can edit the date with iPhoto or any of 100 apps, free and paid for. So, the date on the photo will prove nothing, I'm afraid.

  • Lion mail-group emails are hit+miss

I feel that Apple could take a clue how to set up group emails from Outlook. Outlook is overly technical and convoluted but group emails work - Mac Mail is too simplistic and crude. Simple is good only if it works and covers all the bases - Lion group emails are hap-hazard at best. It is very frustrating to set up a group > send an email to that group > then go look at the people the email was sent to only to discover it randomly included some people in my email list that were not in that group, and did not send the email to some people that were in the group. Although crude and basic at least Snow Leapard groups worked properly. With Lion - group emails are hit and miss. I've tried every work around I could think of. Any ideas are appreciated.

  • TS3276 MobileMe Mail suddenly STOPPED showing Incoming Mail on my Mac

MobileMe Mail suddenly STOPPED showing Incoming Mail on my Mac

Again, thanks for your very comprehensive input. I forgot that I still am not now able to sync my iPhone calendar, contacts or Bookmarks with my MacBook calendar, contacts or Bookmarks.
I will try your suggestion "to sync my calendars to iCloud by means of (the) unsupported hack,  This page outlines the situation when you have migrated to iCloud on Snow Leopard, including a link to the calendar hack:
    http://www.wilmut.webspace.virginmedia.com/notes/icloudSL.html
Maybe something will evolve for syncing my Contacts and Bookmarks and iCloud.
(My MacBook - SnowLeopard - 1.83 GHz, Intel Core Duo -- will NOT accommodate Lion.
Is there any way to upgrade my processor to Intel Core 2 Duo?

  • TS3276 Lion Mail needs to keep inputting passwords - what is up with this?

My 13 MBP Mail client keeps wanting me to input paswords - sometimes as many as 5 to 6 times.  It is a real pain in the neck.  Also,it also does not seem to reliably remember my email account passwords.  I have 3 comcast POP email accounts and 2 Gmail accounts.  My separate MS Exchange email is working just fine relative to Office 2011 for the Mac.  I migrated my email settings over to this new MBP from an older MBP running SL about 6 months ago.  The Lion Mail client has been buggy ever since.  My MBP is fully updated.  What is up with this?  Does the Kychain need to be cleaned?  Anyone else have this problem?  Please advise.

Thank you for understanding our pain. I remember they were doing a promotion for the tablets from Samsung.I told the rep that I didn't want it because I already have a iPad but he insisted that I get it because it was free. So my husband come on just get it. The sales rep never told us that we will be paying for Internet on the tablets. By time I realize that I was paying for two extra lines it was too late and they didn't want to take the tablets back. I kept calling the store to speak to a manager and they would always say the manager is not here. I tried everything to give these tablets back and now I'm stuck with them.

  • Lion Mail: Mailboxes won't stay in the order I want.

Lion Mail: I drag my mailboxes to reorder them, which works. However, when I quit and relaunch Mail, the mailboxes revert to the original order. And it's not alphabetical; nor is it the order of the accounts preference window.
Also, the order in the Inbox does not match the order in the lower section of the sidebar. (My iCloud account is first in the Inbox, but last in the sidebar.)

    Hi.
The problem probably was in incorrect entry in prefs.js.
I had the same issue and that was in my config:
    user_pref("browser.search.useDBForOrder", '''"true"'''); -bad
    user_pref("browser.search.useDBForOrder", '''true'''); - good
The wrong value set search engines always in alphabetical order.
Some plugin responsible for context searching, has change this entry to wrong value.

  • Mailbox - Drafts...shows 1, but no drafted messages appear.

Looking for some assistance here...my Drafts mailbox in my email shows I have 1 drafted email.  However, when I highlight on the mailbox, no drafted email is shown.  How do I remove the notification showing I have a draft in that mailbox?  It seems to have appeared after I shared a photo from Apperture via email...thanks!

Hello, took me awhile to find this out, but...
Get the combo update for Intel-based Macs...
    http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosx10411comboupdateintel.html
Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), & use Disk Utility from there to Repair Permissions, reapply the Combo Update.
    Repair Permissions afterwords, reboot.

  • Sent Mail STILL not showing anything in the attachments column

I was hoping this would be fixed with the 10.7.1 update but it hasn't happened.
All I can see is the paper clip icon at the top of the column, but NO indication of any attachments alongside individual messages. So how am I supposed to know that my attachments were sent? Or which emails I sent with attachments?
Divine insight?  Magic crystals? Intuition? Or is not showing attachments just another a new Apple feature I am unable to appreciate?

Oh and BTW, it seems I can't edit the message I just posted. Another feature, I suppose.

  • Upgraded to Lion and now Mail does not show attachments in the Send Box (for new messages only).

After upgrading to Lion and switching Mail to the classic mode, I can no longer see if messages have attachment in my Send Box. However, I can go into the message and see the attachment.
Strangely, all my messages prior to the upgrade show their attachments.
I've looked through the preferences and don't see a swith for this.
    Any suggestions. Thanks.
    Blair

Walter, thank you for the suggestion.
Perhaps I am not explainging myself very well.
In the Send Box new messages do not show the clip in the Attachments column. The image below is of two messaegs, both of which have an attachment, yet no clip is shown (this is also true of the Draft Box).
In all other boxes, an attachment is shown with a clip (see below).
I need the clips to be shown in all mail boxes.
    Thanks.
    Cheers, Blair

  • Mail doesn't show names from the Address Book

When receiving emails from people who appear in my Address Book - the "From" field still shows default names set by the senders, instead of showing the names as they appear in my Address Book.
When composing a new email though - Mail does recognize the names
Is there a way to enforce mail to replace the names shown?
    Thanks,
    Fade.

    Greetings,
Is there a way to enforce mail to replace the names shown?
No, there is no way to do this. The "From:" field will always be exactly what is specified by the account of the person sending you the email, even if you don't have it that way in Address Book. That is perfectly normal and is valid for every email client I've ever used.
The only reason you see the name you have in Address Book when sending an email is because you sent email to that person before, so it's drawing that information from the Previous Recipient list.

  • Mail doesn't show images, just the icons eg. .jpeg, .jpg, .png etc.

iMac 24" OS X 10.7.5 Lion, my Mail ver. 5.3 does not show images anymore, just the icon attachments, eg. .jpeg, .jpg, .png etc.
I can click on them and use the open with context menu and open them but they just open as attachments not lined up to the email body as they have always been in the past.
What can I do to get these images back to where they belong?
    Thanks,
    Jerry

Open Terminal in Applications>Utilities and paste this in. Then hit return.
    defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing 0
To reverse the setting, change the 0 to a 1.

  • New Mail in GMAIL shows up in the ALL Mail folder but NOT in the Inbox

Recently my iPhone 3G began looking at my gmail account and was not pulling the mail down. So I had to go web based to see if there was anything in my mailbox. I don't know if the problem is that I have this same account with the mail app on my mac and I may check it on the web, iphone or on my computer and it's possibly confusing the system. Very frustrating because I have to check my mail twice, in different places, just to make sure I didn't miss anything.
Hopefully this was clear and thanks for any help
    C

    DId you try, settings, notifications?
under your gmail or whatever mail you have you can choose to fetch every 15 minutes, hour, or manually. Sounds like you are on manually, when you open your email.
    MAnually does save battery though.

  • Mail AND entourage showing contacts in the order last name, first name?

hi, I want to use mail and entourage parallel. mail can display the name in the "correct" order last name, first name. using entourage I cannot find this option. it´s always a mess, sorted by last name, but in the order: first name last name.
Does somebody know the solution how to tell entourage to behave like mail in this matter ?

Templeton's suggestion is best if needing help with Microsoft Entourage. Since I know the answer is "not possible" I can at least steer you toward an AppleScript that will give you a workaround. Have a look here <http://www.barryw.net/weblog/files/category-5.html>.
Further questions about this script should be directed either to its author or to Microsoft's Entourage newsgroup <http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.mac.office.entourage>.
    Hope this helps! bill
