TS3276 mail doesn't send

It has been a long time and many of the computers in our office (all macs) have the same problem.  I'm tired of having to quit the program or restart my computer to get it to send email.
All the settings are right.
Come on Apple Genius person, fix it and tell me how.
Thanks,
David

I'm getting a similar problem. Snow Leopard Mail for me seems to be choking on large attachments - sending them, forwarding them, or even moving them from one IMAP folder to another.
My mails are getting through, but it takes a long time and they are dragging the whole system to a crawl in the process.

  • TS3276 mail doesn't recognise password. my bt yahoo is working ok .help?

my mail doesn't recognise my password athough my bt yahoo is accepting it and is working .Help?

I've now managed to log back into my email account but now the server seems to be suffering some sofrt of intermittent memory failure. Now although I have been sending and receiving emails from this account most of the day in the last couple of hours the connection to the email server has become very slow, though a test gives perfectly usual speeds of
    Download 12.5Mb
    Upload 2.54Mb
yet my last few attempts to send emails have all failed, most simply timed out but a few that did get through have now been bounced as
'334 535 invalid user ID or password'
Obviously both are in fact correct, as neither have changed in the past couple of hours, so it would appear to be a problem at the server end though I can find nothing about a problem anywhere. Any suggestions or should I just hope it will be feeling better after a good night's rest.
    Many thanks

  • Mail doesn't send to certain e-mail addresses, receiving seems ok

I am using the latest version of the Apple Mail application under Leopard (with all updates downloaded). About a month ago I e-mailed a friend from my home account and unusually didn’t get a reply. I then e-mailed again a few weeks after, again no reply. After a phone conversation found out she didn’t receive either of my mails. This prompted many test e-mails, the outcome of which was the following:
1 - Was able to receive my friend’s e-mails, but if I replied using Apple mail (hitting the reply button), my reply never got back to her.
2 - Was able to send to and receive my friend’s e-mails using MS outlook from my place of work using a PC and my work e-mail account. No problems.
3 - Was able to send and receive to my work account from my home account using Apple Mail, no problems.
4 - Was able to send and receive my friend e-mails from my home account, using web mail rather than using Apple Mail.
5 - Could no longer e-mail my wife using the Apple Mail (and she could not e-mail me), we both use the same ISP. However using web mail rather than Apple Mail we could still send and receive e-mails from each other.
6 - Phoned my ISP, my account seems to be ok, which was also confirmed by using webmail as described in the previous two points.
7 - Other than the regular Apple updates the Mail app is the same client I have been using since I got my new Mac last October. I didn’t appear to have any problems until about a month ago and have made no changes to settings etc.
8 - When I do attempt to send e-mails to my wife or friend, I get the usual whooshing sound and a progress bar to show that the mail has been sent. The outbox is empty and the mail appears in the sent box, but never arrives to its destination. No error messages or e-mail bounce backs, nothing.
9 - Downloaded and installed Thunderbird, all the problems seem to go away – I can now send and receive e-mails from both my wife and friend.
It’s a bit weird that Apple Mail seems to have taken an aversion to sending mail to some particular e-mail addresses. Unless someone can explain what is going on here, I think that this is a serious problem. As I’ve mentioned, there is no hint that Apple Mail is not sending e-mail, as far as I was concerned e-mails were leaving my Mac. Has anyone experienced something similar? Is there an easy fix?

I just did a quick test in InDesign CC and my one worked. Maybe you should delete the button and redo it.
By the way on a slightly different matter, do you know that to enable users to complete the form and store it on their computer using Acrobat Reader, you need to enable the form as follows:
Open the form in Acrobat XI  and then:
File > Save As Other > Reader Extended PDF > Enable More Tools (includes for fill-in & save). . . Your users will be able to fill in the form and save it (assuming they have the later versions of Acrobat Reader).
Make sure you keep a copy of your original PDF with a different file name as once you've created a Reader Enabled PDF Form you can't change it.

  • Mail doesn't send emails

I have two accounts. Mail suddenly stops sending emails though i can receive emails from that account. I checked the email server and it is absolutely working fine. It throws an error and asks me for my password again and again. Whats weird is that this happens at random intervals. Can someone help me out.

Try deleting the password in Applications/Utilities/Keychain Access.
    Try running Keychain First Aid.

Mail has started sending duplicates of a message, especially group messages.  It also opens 2 windows for writing a new email.  Help. How do I fix this?

Unfortunately there isn't official commercial support for Mozilla Thunderbird from Mozilla Corp.. I believe some contributors here ([http://mozilla.magicfab.ca myself included]) do offer such support, though.
''Before doing anything else, please do exit Thunderbird completely and [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-tb#w_backing-up-a-profile backup the profile folder] - it contains all your email, settings, filters, etc.''
Regarding your issue, it looks like the mail folder information may be corrupt. In the left pane, in the folder list, right-click on the Sent folder and select '''Properties'''. Choose "'''Rebuild Index'''" or "'''Repair Folder'''" - do you even have that option? Once done, exit TB completely and restart it.
Updating to a newer version will help anyone help you, if only because some of the documentation for older Thunderbird versions is a bit harder to find and testing to try & reproduce your problem will be harder. Don't do this just yet, though :)
After this issue has been addressed I would suggest considering using IMAP if your provider allows you to, and of course archiving your email to Local Folders and doing regular backups of your profile.
If you want to arrange commercial support, contact me via the link I provided above and we can discuss rapidly. Otherwise I am fine continuing here, however I can only reply as time permits. I am in Montreal (so, EST time zone).

  • Mail doesn't send emails after Leopard upgrade!

    Hi everyone..
I am wondering if anybody is facing this as well..
Since I upgraded to Leopard, and Mail retrieves both of my emails on Gmail and .Mac inboxes very well and stable.. But, when it comes to sending, it doesn't.
It keeps on taking forever to finally give me this error "The connection to the server “smtp.mac.com” on port 25 timed out" and of course, I have checked everything the error told me, and no it's not my fault. I thought .Mac mail servers are down, but, no.. My outbox mail lies there for about three days now and no clue how could I help mail succeed sending them.
If somebody faced similar problem, and might have a solution for it, please help.
    Thank you.
    Mark

    When I try to delete an e-mail . . .
    Error message is as follows:
"The IMAP command “UID COPY” (to Deleted Messages) failed for the mailbox “INBOX” with server error: Error in IMAP command received by server.."
This is my first Leopard bug. The Mail program cannot delete messages using IMAP. Mail worked fine using Tiger, so that is lame. Now I have to use Webmail to actually delete a message. Any thoughts?

  • Mac OS X 10.7.3 mail doesn't send jpg attachments?

    First thing:
I can't send a jpeg attachment with Mail. It always arrives in th body of the text and the receiver can do nothing with it.
    Another thing:
Also when I want to forward an email, very often the attachments doesn't follow, or even the text of the email doesn't follow !
    That's not reliable.
    What can I do?

You need to upgrade to the current version of Adobe Reader 10.1.3. PPC applications are not supported in Lion.
If you also use Office then see:
Office 2004 Applications Won't Work in Lion
You must have Office 2004 which is a PPC-only suite and will not work in Lion. You need to upgrade to Office 2011 - Mactopia - or you can try the freeware suite, Libre Office, that is functionally similar to Office 2007 for Windows except it works on Lion.
You may want to consider as well:
These two suites are similar to Libre Office but not as current or as well-supported:
    NeoOffice
    Open Office
And, then there is Apple's iWork suite:
Pages - word processing and layout
    Keynote - presentation
    Numbers - spreadsheet
Each can open and save Office compatible files. They may be purchased separately via the Mac App Store for $19.99 each.
(Access to the Mac App Store requires Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or higher and an Apple ID.)

  • ICloud mail doesn't send from Mac since upgrading to Mavericks...

Worked perfectly before upgrade yesterday, now, if I send an email on my Mac, it just stays in drafts, no sending progress bar in bottom left, doesn't show up in outbox or sent items either, simply jus sits there in drafts... No error message of any sort either... Works fine on all 4 of my other iOS devices, an all sent/received mails on other devices will show up in mail folders on Mac.. Have tried restarting mail, also restarting Mac, nothing... ):
    Any help gratefully received...

Just to add, doesn't show up in the outbox.mbox folder either...

  • Mail doesn't send half the time

My SMTP server is TalkTalk ( UK) and when I send mail it works fine... half the time.
The other half I get the 'sending' wheel spinning. nothing in my activity window, and eventually the following alert:
<Cannot send message using the server smtp.talktalk.net>
Sometimes, the message appears simultaneously as I get the 'whoosh' of sent mail and when I 'Try with Selected Server' the email goes immediately, and my correspondents report a double post!
Other times, I get no whoosh, I 'Try With Selected server' and then I get the whoosh.
    So the server is fine.
There is something wrong with my mac
    any ideas?
    peter

I will ask them what their time-out is, thanks.
I tend to avoid automated downloads/uploads and have everything set to manual, as I use my mac for audio production and don't like the idea of background tasks suddenly kicking in ( while perhaps recording or rendering is taking place) . It probably doesn't matter with the new processors, but it's a habit I will stick to until proven unnecessary.
What I should really do is have a boot partition just for audio, but I rather like being able to instantly switch tasks - I have a very disorganised lifestyle
'Blink': sorry - this is jargon from my online conferencing system, cix. It uses a Mail-type reader to run conversations offline rather than using it as an online forum. It means a simultaneous upload/download of messages.

  • Mail doesn't send mails with attachments 1Mb

    Hi,
I'm using Mail with a ManagedExchange account. Before Snow Leopard I was using Entourage 2008.
Everything seems to work fine. Except sending of larger files fails.
Every time I send a mail which is approx. <1Mb Mail starts transmitting data (see it via Little Snitch 2.2b) and stops after a while doing nothing anymore. The mail stays in the outbox, and the moving circle which indicates that a folder is being synchronized appears endless. No other mails are going out then. After a while I get a message that my email couldn't be sent via my mail server. And the connection failed. And I can choose another mail server if I would have any. Entourage doesn't have that problems. So the connection seems to be fine. Small attachments are no problem.
    What's the problem?
    Regards,
    OberMufti

  • Mail doesn't send mail :(

I am having major issues with mail recently. No matter what account i use (IMAP, POP3) it won't send mail (ie won't connect the smtp). Anyone else have this issue? (It downloads the mail).

Mail Help has some articles devoted to sending problems, e.g. “I can't send email” or “I can't send email because the connection to the server on port 25 timed out”. You may want to take a look at them in case there is something there that applies to you.
Something that usually works if you’re trying to use an outgoing (SMTP) server different from the one provided by your ISP (and in the case of .Mac in particular) is changing the outgoing server port to 587 instead of 25 in Preferences > Accounts > Account Information > Outgoing Mail Server > Server Settings.
On the other hand, if the outgoing server that doesn’t work is the one provided by your ISP, the problem could be that you’re telling Mail to authenticate, but the outgoing server doesn’t actually require authentication because it can determine who you are by other means.

  • Mail doesn't send mail anymore

All of a sudden my mail accounts will not send mail. At first I thought it was the size of the actual message or attachments being sent.... nope. doesn't matter if its a 10mb attachment or a 3kb message it just gets sent to the outbox folder for all my accounts gmail, yahoo and business.
I rebooted my ipad and the same issue still occurs.

    I'd check the port.
It can change itself and that stops 'sends'.
