TS3276 Mail is sending emails without attachments

When I send an email using Apple Mail with attachments embedded within the text the first part email gets sent but the attachments and any text beyond is truncated.
The attachments were created by taking a snapshot of part of a document viewed in Preview and saved as a PDF.  The attachments open correctly in Preview so there is nothing wrong with the files.
I am using a 27" iMac OS X 10.9.1

Perhaps you have been working on Mail / Preferences / Accounts?
Instead, open Mail. Click Mail in the menu bar and select Accounts (not Preferences).
In the new pane check if the Account you do not want is still listed. If it is you can select it and delete with the - (minus sign).

  • Is there a way to send email without opening Mail.app?

    Hello,
I would like to be able to send email using either an Applescript or a shell script that would send email without opening Mail.app. The ideal solution would be using an account and settings (such SSL encryption of my password) that are stored in mail.app. However, if that is not possible, I could set up another email account to be used just for the purpose I have in mind so I don't have to worry about my password being exposed in clear text.
I've seen Applescripts that open Mail.app and then hide it in the background but the key requirement for my particular need is that Mail.app never open during the send process. I synchronize my email between my iMac and my Powerbook using Chronosync so it is critical that none of the files that store or index the actual mail in Mail.app be opened so as not to alter their modification dates.
    Thank you,
    James

If you upgrade to 10.4 there is a widget that will let you compose and send mail without opening Mail.
    Here's two other options.
    1. Does your isp have a web based email?
    2. Download a program like thunderbird for email. When you configure it end phony information for incoming mail and only fill in the correct infor for outgoing mail.

  • Send email without opening mail app

    Hi
So how can I send email without opening mail app.
From: Overview of requested additional functionality, Ayuba Audu
    Hi Peter,
There are a couple of services available that support sending emails via REST API calls. Of course, each such service requires a WADL connector to be created, but by taking advantage of resources such as the early alpha of our
    WADL Generator, along with
our documentation, one will be enabled to do this.
This way you do not need to have the Mail application available, on the machine the app is running on.
    Thanks.
    Hi Ayuba
I guess the comment above was mentioned for this thread. If so can you please share a simple example file here or anywhere elese?
    Thanks

Basically all I'm trying to do is to build an app for multiple users in one company. Each employer (user) is stored in collection with their password and email address. To get access to man screen of the app, employee must login in login screen. Chose his
name and type the password. I want to add a button for forgotten password so in case one of the employee would forget his password he can click on the button and receive on his email his password. The email what he will get would be for example from
[email protected] with mail body : your password is 12345.
So is that what you meant I can do with WADL generator?

  • BPEL 10.1.2 & 10.1.3 bug: sending email witch attachments

We would like to get the following (known)bug fixed or learn of a workaround:
    Metalink # 5445787:
When BPEL sends emails with attachments which are opened by Outlook clients,
the email body content will also be recongnised as attachment. The end-user
will then receive an e-mail with 2 attachments and empty body text.

    Hi,
The bug is being worked on by development. The best thing to do is to log a SR with Oracle Support and say you also need a fix for this bug. The amount of customers waiting for a specific bug fix has sometimes an effect on the priority it is given.

  • Outlook 2010 wont send emails with attachments

    Hello
I was starting to write the question when we found out what the problem was. So I thought I would share our resolution in here, in case someone fall in the same issue.
One of my user with Outlook 2010 cannot send emails with attachments of some size. +-50 kb files works fine.
But when we try a file of 1mb, the mail goes in the Outbox, Exchange status swith from Connected to Disconnected and the email stay there.
The user is in a remote location, connected through VPN with the network where the Exchange 2013 server is
    Here is what I did:
    1. Re-create Outlook profile: wont work
    2. Re-create Windows profile: wont work
    3. Check ip settings: fine
    4. Try in OWA: wont work
    5. Look at Exchange settings for outgoing email size: 10mb
    6. Load my user's Outlook profile on another LAN: works fine
That last point made me thought about a potential problem on the remote user's lan. So I did
    7. Check VPN config between the remote site and IT site: fine
After googling the problem, I found that website (http://community.spiceworks.com/topic/396793-outlook-2010-client-suddenly-showing-disconnected-from-2013-exchange-server) that suggest to change the DNS setting on the client. However, the DHCP of my remote
user was the router itself, which is giving a DC as primary DNS, and ISP DNS as secondary. I changed the secondary DNS for another DC in our organization, and guess what? Voila! Problem is gone!
Thinking about it that make not much sense, as the primary DNS is always up the secondary shouldn't be queried. But that's what resolved our problem.
    Hope it helps someone!

  • Send emails with attachments residing in the network

    Hi All,
My requirement is to send email with attachments. I am using javamail and it works fine only if the attachment resides in the local machine.
If the attachment resides in the network [the folder is shared by the user], the application gives me IOException.
Please help. Let me know if I am not clear.

Please find the trace below . Also I am able to browse the share but haven't tried writing a test app.

  • Sending emails with attachments through outlook 2003

    Hello,
I have recently switch from cablevison to Fios. With Cablevison, I never had a problem with email. However, now I am having problems sending emails with attachments using outlook 2003. I have called Verizon and we troubleshooted the problem and they feel this is a Microsoft problem.
I can send email's without attachments through outlook and verizon.net, but I can't send emails with attachments through outlook, I can send them though verizon.net.  All my settings are correct for sending and receiving email.
I called Microsoft and they say it a Verizon problem...
HELP, does anyone have a solution?????
    Thanks
    Len628

Which antivirus software do you run on your computer? Are there any errors posting?  Have you shut off any email firewalls temporarily to attempt to isolate your issue?  Do you have outlook 2003 on more than 1 pc in your home?  Have your tried to attach a small text file and send it to see if that goes thru successfully?

  • Is it possible to send emails with attachments fro...

    Hi there,
I was wondering whether it's possible to send emails with attachments from a Nokia 5230, it's just I would like to be able to send emails with attachments without using a computer especially when I'm out on my journeys.
    Many thanks,

    Hi RocknRollTim,
Thanks for your reply. Have you already tried sending these files? Though you're not able to create all these files on the phone itself, you should be able to send them in an attachment when they're on your memory card.
Uploading a .jpg, .tiff, .gif, .doc, .docx .htm, .html .key, .numbers, .pages, .pdf, .ppt, .pptx, .txt, .rtf, .vcf, .xls or .xlsx file shouldn't be a problem when uploading. Just click on 'Other' when adding an attachment, then on 'Other files' and there you will be able to select any file that you have saved on your memory card.
Whether you can actually send the email depends on the strength of your internet connection (as I mentioned in my previous post). Also keep in mind that the phone itself as well as the network work with a maximum size file that you can send over 3G (more information about this can be found here), and can therfore also limit you in sending large files.
In any case, let me know how you get on so that we can assist further where necessary.

    Hi Mike,
I had the same issue and managed to solve it.
    Go into Mail>Preferences>Accounts
Then in the account information tab, at the bottom should be outgoing mail server (SMTP) and click the drop down box
Mine had a few different servers in it so i went into edit SMPT server list. Click advanced and it will tell you which ones are going from which email address.
Delete the ones you dont want, and it should work or instead of deleting click use only this server, i imagine that will work to
    Hope This Helps

  • I can't gey yahoo mail to send email- it says something like not connected to server?

I Cannot get yahoo mail to send emails. I wonder what step I missed during the sort up process?

    Howdy msmantila,
It sounds like you cannot check your Yahoo email on the iPad. I would recommend the troubleshooting in the following article to help get that resolved, named:
    iOS: Troubleshooting Mail
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3899
Tap Safari and load a webpage. If you can load a webpage, then your device has Internet access. If you can't load a webpage, check your Wi-Fi connection or try a different Internet connection:
    Try a different Wi-Fi connection.
If your iOS device has an active cellular data plan, tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn off Wi-Fi.
If the affected email account is provided by your Internet provider, see if your issue is resolved while connected to your home Wi-Fi network.*
Log in to your email provider's website to make sure that the account is active and the password is correct.
Make sure your settings are correct using Mail Settings Lookup.
    Restart your iOS device.
Delete the affected email account from your device.
Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
    Tap the affected email account.
    Tap Delete Account.
    Add your account again.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Sterling
