TS3276 Mavericks and email attachments with photos

I am using Mavericks and when I forward a message with a picture, several receipents replay no picture came thru. Whats happening

We use Exchange Server 2003 Service Pack 2 and all i-devies running ios 5 have problems with attachments who include mutations.
Test with an Exchange Server 2007 made no issue with any i-device.
After hours of testing i came to this conclusion:
Apples announcement ios4 and higher fully supports Exchange Server 2003 SP2 is FALSE.
Thus all iDevices will be replaced through Android devices which have no problems at all at any version of Exchange.
That's cheaper instead of buying a new Exchange Server.
Sorry but i don't like to be fooled. Next time do your homework.

When creating a custom malware policy there is a setting under "Scan Settings" called "Scan Email and Email Attachments" and I have a number of questions regarding it.
Which email clients does this policy support?
Which email protocols does it support - POP3, IMAP, MAPI?
How and when does it scan the incoming email and attachments?
One of the reasons I ask is that we recently had a user hit with the Crypt Locker virus which went on to encrypt 40,000 files on network folders. The infection was encounter via a pishing email in Outlook 2013 and I would have thought MS EP would have caught
the payload when the link was clicked on or attachment was downloaded.

Yikes. I would contact CSS directly on this because no one in these forums will truly be able to address your concerns.
Based solely on this blog post -- http://blogs.technet.com/b/clientsecurity/archive/2010/03/20/scanning-email-archives.aspx -- I would conclude that it doesn't scan any traffic and thus the protocol doesn't matter; it is an archive scanner and thus only
scans e-mails once they are written or committed to disk.
The assumption that client based anti-malware products make is that the e-mail server is itself already protected at the gateway level.
Even so though, if this was phishing attack, there's nothing malicious about the e-mail itself so the setting doesn't really apply as it was the content downloaded from the malicious site that the user unwittingly accessed that caused the damage. Outlook
is generally good at at recognizing spoofed URLs used in phishing attacks though.
So, going back to my original statement, you should contact Microsoft CSS to see where the gap was.

The reason i asked this question is because i have been wondering this a lot ever since i got an exchange on this ipod (and ive only had it for a few weeks now) because my last ipod had a lot of problems. so after i restored my ipod with my computer/itunes, i downloaded apps that i wanted, and then when i went to the storage to see how much storage was left, it said 0 bytes. i was freaking out because i didnt know how that could be, i mean, cause like, that is impossible when i just 'purchased' it, that the space was full but i looked and all my pictures were on this ipod and i already put them on my computer so i dont need them anymore thats why i wanna reset it now so there is nothing on it so i can have more space for stuff to do and download on it.
it is updated to iOS 8 but that happened when i purchased it, so i didnt have a choice to update it even though i didnt want to update to iOS 8...

Hey Sierra, You can do just what you have stated. My question, what is your "other"? If it is over 1.5 GB you most likely have corrupt files. Doing a Restore to New, Factory restore should correct it. Just make sure you make a full backup of all information on your iPod to your computer before you restore, so you don't lose your stuff, contacts, videos, pictures, non-iTunes music, etc, use the cable and connect with your computer. Then, via cable, connect to your computer, run the Restore to new, don't use your backup. Treat this iPod as if it was your first one ever. When restore is done, set up and add what info you wish to install on this iPod. The music apps etc you purchased should be on your computer, if not you should be able to retrieve purchased apps and music from iTunes. Any music, videos, apps not purchased from iTunes will be lost to you if you do not save them to your computer or the cloud first. When your done, make a current Backup and you should good to go. i just upgraded my operating system from mountain lion to maverick. i did a clean install on a new hard drive.
anyways, my desktop mac mini computer using mountain lion is having no problems with my outgoing mail with my domain name.

using the exact same info on my laptop with maverick
no dice.
mail comes in but can't email out with my domain name

Viewing and sending attachments with gmail

I have the gmail app installed and can not view or send attachments. If I use the BB email it works fine.
Anyone know how to get the gmail app to manage attachments or is this not possible with gmail app?

Hi there!
Nope -- that's one of the functions that is not available via the GMail add-on app. I think it can receive attachments just fine and that you can view (and save, etc.) them. And I think you can forward a message you received that had an attachment and the attachment will go along with it. But you cannot initiate a new message and place an attachment to it. If you like the GMail app, what you can do is create a BIS profile for that account, but configure it to not deliver do your BB...you can then use that to send from your GMail with attachments.

Email attachments with Rails 2.0.2

I'm having an issue when sending an email (:smtp) with attachments in Rails. When there is an attachment the email received doesn't have any body content. If I remove the attachment and re-send the email, I get body content. Has anyone seen this before?

This may be an issue with ownership and permissions, between Mail, and the folders from which you are sourcing the files to attach. Please use the Repair Permissions feature of Disk Utility, and report back. See:

Open email attachments with Pages?

Have just recently purchased 2 iMacs and am having a problem with email attachments. iWorks is installed on both machines. In one machine, when an email attachment comes through I can "Command-click" and get an option menu to select the application that will open the attachment- in other words choose Pages rather than TextEdit or Word (if I had it installed).
On the second computer, all "Word-type" documents are automatically opend by TextEdit. If I "Command-click"

You are probably not doing anything wrong but sending to persons not having Macs with Pages of the same version. If you are sending to person on PCs or Macs without the right Pages you have to export to Word or Pdf so they can read it.

IPad and Email Attachments

I use my IPad with exchange email. I cannot forward emails with attachments with my IPad. Any ideas about this? I really want to use my ipad in my business but at this point my IPhone and IPad are fairly useless. I would appreciate any help someone could give.

Update to my scenario. I figured it out. We are on Exchange 2007 on Server 2003 and we are using Active Sync with Client Certificates. We did not notice much of a problem when sending using IOS 6 but with IOS 7 it was much more prevalent, any message over 100K would get rejected as too large. turns out it was a problems with IIS 6 and the uploadreadaheadsize value in the IIS metabase. I bumped mine up to 10Mb and now attachments are going through fine. THis probably should have been done a long time ago, but the symptoms really just reared its ugly head after the ios 7 upgrade.
I hope this helps others, as i was pulling my hair out all weekend trying to figure this out.

Hidden Photo attaching to ALL emails end with photos attached

Hi. Every time I send an email with photos attached, an additional photo (always the same one) always attaches itself, too. You cannot see it as an attachment at the bottom of the email, however, when the recipient opens the pictures and clicks to view the next photo, etc., this one particular photo always shows up at the end. I can no longer send business related photos, because this personal family photo always attaches itself. Can anyone help me? Thanks!

Can you see this hidden photo in the catalog? Try attaching a tag to this photo and a different tag(Tag2) to the photos you want to send. Search for the 2nd tag(tag 2) and when the results are displayed, select all these photos and send an email to yourself to see if the hidden photo is still getting attached. This should not be happening but please see if the above steps make any difference.

Save email template with photos as pictures

Hello,
with Iphoto you can make nice email layouts with a mix of pictures. I'd to save this creation as a picture in order to print it in a high resolution.
However, it is not possible to save this picture layout (in the iphoto template) in a high resolution. Do you know an other program where I can use such a templates to easy make like a nice card with pictures on it and save it a high resolution.
I'd like to make a collage of some 7 to 9 pics and use it as a card for first communion.

Why not create a Book or a card containing a collage of images in iPhoto? You can save it as a high-resolution image by printing the relevant page to pdf and setting the pdf-button to "Save pdf to folder as jpeg/tiff"
