TS3276 My "Mail" app on MacBook Air is frozen

The 'light' under the task bar shows 'on', but I can neither open or close the app. Nor can I re-start.  Any suggestions as to how to thaw this out? Thanks!

Thanks, Eric - it has now worked to free up my mail app; but I wasn't aware of the 'force quit' option - I hadn't needed it before now. Will know for future, if it happens again.

I added my hotmail account to the Mail App in my laptop and it downloads ALL of my emails every time I I click on Get Mail. Is there a way to progame it to do the same as in an iPhone or iPod Touch where you can configure it to show only the most recent emails?
    Thanks!

    Yup, no longer an option.

  • Image to text convertor app for MacBook Air

hi any one can help me regarding "image to text convertor app for MacBook Air". Actually I want to make soft text document of some my collected material which contains text information. Is any software/app is availeble to convert image to text? please help me...!!!!?

Your Air has Apple Pages built in. That should work fine. Depending what format your electronic essay system requires, you may have to export to either Word or PDF, both of which Pages can do.
Alternatively, Libreoffice (libreoffice.com) is free and has most of the features of Microsft Office. You can of course buy Office but that's the most expensive option.

  • TS4002 why doesn't deleted mail on my MacBook Air show as deleted on my iPad and iPhone

I thought that when I deleted mail on my MacBook Air, it would be deleted automatically on my iPad and iPhone. However; this does not happen, and is annoying having to delete from each individual device. How can I rectify this problem please?

10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) does not support iCloud, are you actually on that or have you upgraded?
Are you using a .me or .mac address, if not what are you using?

    Hey lynnieg26,
Thanks for the question. I understand that you are experiencing issues with Mail in OS X. Let’s see if we can isolate this issue further by following the steps in these resources:

You can't gift it, gifting can only be done from within the store, not from within your library.
Puchases are considered final but you can try the 'report a problem' link to contact iTunes Support and see if they will refund or credit you : http://reportaproblem.apple.com
If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work then you can try contacting iTunes Support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

My MacBook Air is frozen on opening screen. With apple and thinking circle. Nothing else is happening.

Mac OS X: Gray screen appears during startup
Read and follow all the steps.
The article makes reference to your OS X install disc. When asked to start your MacBook Air with that, use OS X Recovery.

  • Mail Sent from MacBook Air Doesn't Show Up in 'Sent' Folder in Mail in iPho

Mail sent from the MacBook Air does not show up in the iPhone 'Sent' Mail folder. Incoming mail shows up in both devices' inboxes. Is this normal?

You need to set the mailbox behavior:
    Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendar -> .Mac/.Me -> Account Info -> Advanced
At "Mailbox Behaviors" you can choose if the "Drafts Mailbox", "Sent Mailbox", and "Deleted Mailbox" uses a mailbox "On My iPhone" or "On the Server".
Before you change the settings, move the mails in Mail.app from the Sent mailbox on your iPhone to a (temporarily created) folder on the MobileMe server. Then change the settings and move the mails from the previous step to the Sent mailbox on MobileMe. Now they all should be visible on your iPhone.

  • Mail Issue for Macbook Air

I updated my macbook air software and now mail wont open... need to reinstall mail..

Just got this answer last night:
You have to reinstall OS X. http://support.apple.com/kb/PH6450
I was able to fix it but what I did was different; I updated my OS from Lion 10.7 to Mountain lion 10.8
Just why Apple sold me a brand new 2012 Model macbook air is a mystery and ****** me off a little.
But the important thing is that you can fix it like this.
You cant reinstall only mail, it has to be the whole OS, but I didnt want to do that cause you loose disc space...
    Hope this helps you!

  • How can I have my emails on iPhone4 and and the mail app on Macbook?

I currently have a Yahoo email address which I had before having my iPhones...and now I have a Macbook Pro. How can I get my emails to be visible on my iPhone mail app and the mail app on the Macbook? Before I attempt it, if I add this mail account to the mail app on the Macbook will my mails then download and not be visible on the iPhone?

You need to make sure your Yahoo! account is configured as IMAP on all devices/computers you want to access it from:

  • My Mac Pro has died can I get my Mail onto my Macbook Air?

My Macbook Pro has died and before I send it for repair I would like to get all my Mails off it onto my Macbook Air. I have both the syatem disc and a Time Machine backup.
Is there a utility to do this or anything I need to look out for or make invisible files visible (and if so how on Mavericks).
I have been very much against putting much on iCloud, I am beginning to have second thoughts now...

If your email Provider uses POP, that setup is geared toward ONE computer fetching the emails off the Mail Server, reading them, and storing them locally (on your Mac). The Server deletes them after a while (but you can specify how long before it does that delete).
If your email Provider uses IMAP, that is geared toward one OR MORE computers reading emails, but the Master Copy continues to be stored on the Server. This makes it easy to use Multiple devices, and  "Copying" is completey optional. But your Server mailbox can get really BIG unless you prune un-needed old emails and especially attachments.
iCloud, AOL, and Yahoo are some of the popular services that can be configured to use IMAP.
iCloud (possibly others as well) is set to transfer your messages encrypted. I am not sure whether they are stored encrypted.
