TS3276 Sent items show twice on MAIL

Hello
I am using Macbook pro late 2013 with latest updated OS X Yosemite.
First, I am facing some issues currently with the Mail application. I am using Hotmail Server on application. Whenever i send a mail. it automatically send twice and can be seen in my Mail "sent " folder.
Secondly, I am having a problem with apple tv . I am using magic mouse as well. Whenever i tried to connect with Apple TV wirelessly, APPLE TV often stopped responding and get disconnected. I have to reconnect it after almost every 30 minutes.
I dont know whats the problem. These such minor issues will not suit to APPLE at all .
Kindly fix such issues or give some updates in OS X.
Thanks
Regards
Nabeel

  • Help needed! GMail sent items missing from Apple Mail!

I need your help to solve a problem that I've identified recently in Apple Mail with a GMail account:
I have a POP-enabled GMail account in Mail, but also with IMAP functionality enabled through GMail's webmail settings (probably because I access it also from my iPad).
However, I notice that my local "Sent" mailbox in Mail only contains some 140 messages, even if a visit to GMail's webmail page shows me that I have at least 1200 "sent" messages.
I must note that my advanced mailbox settings in Mail do NOT allow for automatic deletion of sent items.
So my question is: how to make sure that I do not lose ANY sent items from GMail or any other account for that matter (i.e., that whatever is sent remains in the local "sent" mailbox in Mail)? Am I missing something?
Thanks a lot in advance for your help.

Or am I saying something stupid?
No I don't think so. But from what you're saying, the only copies of sent messages on your computer will be what you are sending from the computer. The messages sent from the iPad or website are not stored on the computer. If it were all set as IMAP, they will be available on all devices.
Thanks a lot for your attentive reply - my only concern is that, when I activate IMAP, I won't be able anymore to have a steady copy of all items in my sent items folder on Apple Mail, nor to delete what I want at will.
Changing it to IMAP will make the all sent items available on the server to your computer, website, and other devices. They will always be there as long as you don't delete them from the server. The messages you manually delete will delete them from the server and all devices. If you want a local backup, then copy them to a local folder which will not remove them from the server or move them to a local folder which will delete them from the server.
Auto syncing does not in any way interfere with local folders on the Mac. The only IMAP folders you can sync are the inbox, sent, drafts, and junk. Inbox is the only mailbox that has to be synced (it's done automatically and you can't change it). I also sync the Sent and Trash. I don't sync (store messages on the server) the drafts or junk mailbox.
I don't understand what you mean by not being able to delete messages from the Inbox. I do it all the time. What happens when you delete it depends on your settings in gmail. Gmail has some peculiar settings like having a deleted items folder besides the Trash folder.  The default is to delete from inbox, it goes to the deleted items folder. Delete it from there, and it goes to Trash. Delete it from trash to get rid of it. The fact is that the All Mail folder shows the message no matter what folder it in. I have mine set to move it straight to the trash when moved from the last visible IMAP folder. So, when I delete it from Mail's Inbox, it moves it to the trash just as local messages do.
If you plan to do your email from the computer only, then POP is fine. If you plan to use the website and iPad also, then IMAP is the way to go.
That way everything in mail is available no matter where you look at it. The only things you won't see is what you move to local folders.
Seems like you should go to gmail's website and read the help files to become more familiar with it. Also look at all the settings available (expecially the Labels Tab, Accounts tab, and Forwarding Tab. These settings will be what you will use mostly to customize how it works and flows with the Mac. If you're going to use IMAP, you need to understand what they do exactly and what you want them to do for you.
My sole objective: to keep ALL messages in Apple Mail (except those I expressly delete), as well as ALL messages in Google.
IMAP does exactly this for you already. By leaving it on the server, they are on the computer. In Mails preference settings in the Accounts / Advanced Tab, for IMAP accounts keep the setting for storing messages for offline viewing. That way Mail actually does store a copy locally until you delete it from the server. And that will be backed up with your computer backup.
And what you do delete from any device will duplicate it elsewhere.

  • Exchange "Sent Items" Missing issue in Mail

I lost my "Sent Items" mails and sync. I have looked all over this place and found nothing, but this one worked for me, I`ve taken the idea from here (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4173886?start=0&tstart=0) similiar to Calendar issue
    Open Mail
Go to the Mail > Preferences.
    Select the Accounts tab.
Remove the Exchange server account which is giving you the error messages.  This mailbox will be removed from the Mail app.
    Close Mail (cmd + Q)
Go to System Preferences and click on the "Mail, Contacts & Calendars" pane, find your Exchange server account, and check the "Mail" option to re-enable your Mail (I`ve got an "unknown problem" when activating, the last resort I tried was to close current session - and retrying this step - it worked for me this way)
Your Mail should now sync properly.
    Hope it works for you

on step 5) before clicking "Mail", it`s necessary to click on "details" (on the right corner) to input your password

  • Some sent items missing in Mac Mail

    Hi
I have an issue where some of my sent items do not get saved to the Sent Items folder.
The email account in question is a work Exchange Server 2003 one and I have it set up as an IMAP account. I have the correct sent items folder configured so that all my devices (mac at home, iPad and iPhone) all sync perfectly with it. The problem appears to occur, sometimes but not always, in the following circumstances:
When I am connected to the work network via ethernet.
When the email size is quite large.
Bizarrely when I unplug the ethernet and connect to the office network wirelessly there is no issue. There is another mac in the office running on Snow Leopard (I'm Lion) at it has exactly the same issue.
Needless to say this isn't an ideal situation particularly when dealing with work emails. Can someone please help?
    Many thanks
    Adrian

Sorry no help, but I'm having a similar issue with an IMAP mailbox and this may be related.
I just sent a very important email (no atachments) and watched the progress bar complete as it was sent. I went to re-read it an hour later to find it missing from my sent folder. Now I don't know if it was sent or not.
I reindexed my messages by following step 2 on this page: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1907
    but that didn't help.
After doing that I checked the same mailbox on another device and it's not in the sent folder which leads me to the conclusion that it hasn't been stored in the sent folder on the server.
Now I'm not sure exactly how it works, but if it wasn't sent shouldn't mail receive that info from the server and inform us, keeping the message as draft?

  • Spotlight privacy items showing up in Mail spotlight search

I've got a Spam folder in Mail whos mbox i've put into Spotlight's privacy settings. When I do a search for one of the spam mails in the main Mac OS spotlight search, the results don't come up, which is good. But when I search in Mail's spotlight using the same criteria, results show up which means to me that Mail is ignoring Spotlight's privacy settings.
Anyone else have this problem or know of a fix for it?

ok, this shows that the spotlight comment "the Kat" is retained in spotlight database as it's recorded in the kMDItemFinderComment field. then the problem is likely corruption of the .DS_store files for the folders containing those files. I really don't know why this happens and what's the proper way of dealing with this but I made the following workaround for the same problem while helping someone else in the past
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=10549447
paste the following into AppleScript Editor

    overflow: auto;"
title="this text can be pasted into the Script Editor">

set comment of this_item to (do shell script "mdls -name kMDItemFinderComment " & ppath & "| awk -F\\\"  '{print $2}'")
    end repeat

select the folder containing all those items (they can be in subfolders) and press 'run" in applescript editor.

  • TS3276 sent items are no longer indexed, how to solve it?

Sent messages are put in the map "sent" but are not displayed well. Only expeditor and subject are shown correctly. The content of mail or discussion is not correct, it comes from former emails related to another subject... quite ennoying. I guess the problem is caused by a wrong indexing. Any idea how can I solve it?

Back up all data. Don't continue unless you're sure you can restore from a backup, even if you're unable to log in.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
    Step 1
If you have more than one user account, and the one in question is not an administrator account, then temporarily promote it to administrator status in the Users & Groups preference pane. To do that, unlock the preference pane using the credentials of an administrator, check the box marked Allow user to administer this computer, then reboot. You can demote the problem account back to standard status when this step has been completed.
Enter the following command in the Terminal window in the same way as before (triple-click, copy, and paste):
    { sudo chflags -R nouchg,nouappnd ~ $TMPDIR.. ; sudo chown -R $UID:staff ~ $_ ; sudo chmod -R u+rwX ~ $_ ; chmod -R -N ~ $_ ; } 2> /dev/null
This time you'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command will take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2 (optional)
Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1 or if it doesn't solve the problem.
Boot into Recovery. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
    Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open.
In the Terminal window, type this:
    res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not  going to reset a password.
Select your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
    Select
     ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.

  • Sort e-mails by recipient's e-mail in the Sent Items - OWA

    Dears,
I'd like to know how to sort in sent items folder by recipient's e-mails in Office 365 Outlook Web App? I have a Exchange user account in a Corporate Domain. When I'm using a Outllook Client installed in my desktop I can organize in my Sent Items
folder the e-mails by filter "TO", but when open the OWA and try to organize them, this option isn't available. There is a hotfix that fixes this? I'd like to filter the e-mails by destination and not only "from", "date", "size",
    etc...
    Thanks.
    Frank

    Hi Frank,
In Exchange 2013, we can set folder view by To in Outlook Web App. Please refer to the following picture:
If there is no option for your Office 365 Outlook Web App, I suggest we can ask a question in Exchange Online for more professional suggestion:

  • Sent items deleted

    Hello,
My 'sent' items box has in 'Mail' been deleted of content. Help! All the other boxes seem to be as normal. Any ideas / suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Gavin

    Hello Gavin.
As Donny indicated, go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts and under the Special Mailboxes tab for the account preferences, what is your setting for "Delete or Erase sent messages when"?
If set to Never and the account is a POP type account, quit Mail first and using the Finder go to Home > Library > Mail > this POP account named folder (named by the user name and incoming mail server for the account) > Sent Messages.mbox.
Move the Sent Messages.mbox to the Desktop.
When re-launching Mail, a new Sent Messages.mbox will be created automatically by Mail within the account named folder when sending the next message with the account.
This will prevent losing any new messages sent with the account while working on the old Sent Messages.mbox moved to the Desktop.
Control-click on the old Sent Messages.mbox moved to the Desktop and at the menu window that appears, select Show Package Contents.
List the package content file names and size of each here.

  • Sent items folder

I had an issue where emails I sent from my laptop were not appearing in the sent folder on my iPad or iPhone. Conversely, mails sent from the apple devices were not showing on my laptop. I also had holes in my sent messages ie months/years missing!  They were all present when I viewed via webmail however.  Despite various bouts of deleting and re-adding email accounts I could not fix this. I thought (foolishly I now understand) it would be a good idea to consolidate all of my sent messages in a new folder and then move them back into my sent items.  Yahoo does not allow you to manually add mails to the sent folder!  My apple devices can see the newly created consolidated sent items folder but the mails never download and my laptop can't even see the folder. How can I move my sent mails back to the original sent items folder..? Help! It's driving me mad!

I have the same problem....I have checked settings on my phone and it only seems to be Yahoo sent mail that is not showing in sent folder on my iphone5..... Grrrrrrr Can't find any help on this anywhere

  • Ipad email problem displaying sent item recipient

    Hello
I am new to the iPad. Actually its my friend that has one and I am trying to get him up and running with it. We have one question to start with. He uses a PC Laptop for his main machine with an IMAP account so all the mail folders are stored on the ISP's server rather than locally.
IT all works on his iPhone and his new iPad but what we have noticed is in the sent items folder is that on both devices it displays the senders (his) name rather than the recipient on each email. Not very helpful when there are a couple of thousand emails in sent items.
My iphone is pop3 and any sent items show the recipient.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
    Barry

    Hi
Thanks for the reply.  No, there is no cc set up.  It is strange.  Its only on his apple devices.  His iPhone and iPad both show his name in sent items.  The inbox shows who the message is from but none of the sent folders do.  In Outlook however on his PC it shows the recipient in all sent folders.

  • Sent items from Blackberry not appearing in Outlook sent items

I used to use hotmail and all sent items appeared in outlook sent items, I am now using outlook and they are not.  Please explain in very very simple language using no IT terminology(!!!) how I make my blackberry sent items show up in outlook!
    Thanks

When you used hotmail and outlook, I take it you used to send all your email using outlook?
Items you send on your blackberry should show up in your sent items on the hotmail website, but the sent items in outlook is separate, and will only show emails you actually send from outlook. It doesn't pickup sent items you've sent from the hotmail website or your blackberry - this is a limitation of outlook and hotmail, rather than blackberry.

  • Sync gmail sent items

    Hi,
i recently setup Gmail IMAP on my IPAD2, like Google said in it's docs, and noticed that I have 2 folders of "Sent Items" on my Ipad2 Mail app and both are empty, both return empty searches when i try to search in them, and both say: Updated : 11-09-14 4:05pm (now)
    - when i send an email from my ipad2 i can see it form my desktop but not from sent items on ipad2...
    any ideas?

as a temporary work arounds, two possible solutions:
    (1) activate "always bcc myself" on the iphone. move the sent email to "inbox" on iphone.
    (2) physcially move sent emails on the iphone from the sent items folder to inbox. on Mail.app, move the sent emails from "inbox" to "sent items".
    any other solutions?

  • Sort sent items in sharedmailbox via OWA

    Hi,
I can't create rule in my sharedmailbox for sending mails in OWA.
I tried few times, but always emails are moving to default folder "Sent items"
Rules for incoming mails works great!

    Hi,
From your description, you create a inbox rule such as: after message arrives sent to test1, move it to folder "sent to test1". When you send a message to test1, this message still exists on Sent Items folder, not on "sent to test1" folder.
If I have misunderstood your concern, please let me know.
I see many people have misunderstood the meaning of this inbox rule. I would like to explain the actual meaning of it using an example.
Here is the Inbox Rule I create on OWA shared2's mailbox:
When the message arrives, and was sent to amy01, move the message to "sent to amy01" folder.
Now administrator sends an message to shared2 and amy01 at the same time, the message arrives in "sent to amy01" folder on shared2's mailbox.
    Hope my clarification is helpful.

  • Can I sync 'Sent Items' on my iPhone to Outlook?

I use a POP email account (from my own domain) on my iPhone 4 and have the same email account in Outlook 2010 on my PC (running Win7 Ult). When on the road I will answer emails from my iPhone. Those are stored in my 'Sent' folder. How do I sync these Sent emails to my Outlook program so I can keep a record of them on my PC?

Nope I don't think it is possible to sync the sent items folder with pop mail... But you can with imap mail so you could choose to switch your email to imap assuming your domain name provider supports imap. Most of them do. If you google imap v pop mail you will see the difference as to how the email works but in brief with pop your email is fetched from the server and with imap it remains on the server and you view the email through outlook and apples email app. You can choose which folders you want to see including your sent items folder.
    Hope that helps.

  • N8 - Syncing Sent Items with IMAP?

I know this one's an old hat but: Is it possible to sync the local sent folder in the N8 mail application with the IMAP sent folder?
As far as I know Nokia phones weren't able to do that for ages and this bug still seems to be present in Symbian^3. I mean what's the point of IMAP if half the implementation is missing?
Maybe there's a way to assign the local sent folder to an IMAP folder (like in Apple Mail) or something?
    Help greatly appreciated!

I have exactly the same problem with my Nokia N8 mail client.
I use native IMAP account (not the nokia messaging stuff).
This is possible by not accepting the terms and conditions
when asked at the time you create your very first mail account.
I subscribed to all IMAP folders:
    Deleted Items
    Drafts
    Inbox
    Junk E-mail
    Sent Items
    Spam
Then I went back into the mail panel and clicked on the folder
selection button and then on "Ordner" (folders). There I get
    this list:
    Eingang
    Entwürfe
    Gesendet
    Ausgang
    Deleted Items
    Drafts
    Junk E-mail
    Sent Items
    Spam
As you can see the first 4 ones are the localized German folders.
"Eingang" seems to map 1:1 with Inbox that is why Inbox does
not appear in the list. But for example "Gesendet" does not map
to "Sent Items". Instead every mail I sent from my N8 will be
stored in "Gesendet" and every mail I sent from my desktop
Windows Live Mail client will appear in "Sent" on my N8.
This is so stupid, it completely breaks the idea behind IMAP!
I would consider this as a very high priority bug and I really
wonder that this is not yet fixed?
I even wonder if they are aware of this bug??
    PLEASE GUYS FIX THIS!
