I want to send my email but it stays in my outbox and will not send.
HELP!

Probably because your outgoing server is not working. Open Connection Doctor in Mail menu (located under Window) and check your connection. You will probably have to go into Mail's preferences and edit the SMTP server for the account. Something in your settings is not right.

My problem is i don't have an outgoing server spot on my menu. These are my selections. After getting to the menu that where i enter my password for hotmail, i have the following menu choices: Email, then server (bay-m.hotmail.com, then domain (empty), then username, then password, thendescription, then Use SSL, then S/MIME
I don't see or can find an outgoing server choice. My daughter has an ipad2 using Ios4 and she has all the choices that are illustrated on. All the help sites. I only have the ones listed above.

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, and filling out and submitting this form.

Email outbox won't send messages??

Not sure what is up but there is some sort of a "connection" error when I send an email from my Droid phone and it won't send the emails?

The settings to send mail from your phone is different than from your home PC. Who is your ISP?

Outbox won't send mail

Had a problem earlier with my email account (Yahoo) being hacked, After resetting password all seemed to be well, but now my iPad won't send mail, it goes into OUTBOX but won't send. Receiving mail is no problem.
I am new to iPad and need a bit of help.

My iPad did resume 'normal service' after an overnight rest. I did not know that there was an imposed 24hr quarantine, but I do know that all's well now.
I found The BT staff in their technical help desk were good at fixing the original hacking problem on my laptop, but totally helpless at sorting the iPad issues out.
I had to talk to Apple help desk in UK who in turn put me through to the USA. Their consultant was great, but he undoubtedly didn't seem to aware of the quarantine imposed by Yahoo. I will try to get this information through to him for future information

My message to anyone who reads this topic and has been hacked on Yahoo (or btinternet) is
1 update security passwords on laptop. New password required. Delete all traces of hacked messages (inc failed delivery notices and real people's responses)
2 uninstall your mail settings on iPad and reinstall with new mail password on iPad.
3 the iPad mail system should then receive, but not send mail (goes into Outbox)
4 wait 24 hours then everything will be back to normal.
As a brand new user and about to go on a long holiday, it was a nightmare, but ended up fine!
Now in Singapore at 6am local time, can't sleep so catching up on my machine which functions perfectly!

Email will recieve but won't send messages

I had to reload the operating system after a huge crash of my powerbook and put in all the smtp and pop settings (yahoo account) correctly
I can recieve email but can't send
There used to be a server authentication button but I can't find it anywhere to click and go
The message that comes up says the email can't be delivered and it will remain in the outbox until it can, which is nice

Unless your ISP is associated with Yahoo for email access (the email account provided by your ISP includes Yahoo in the email address), it is impossible to access a free Yahoo email account with any email client such as the Mail.app. Yahoo prevents this. You can access a Yahoo Mail Plus or paid account only with an email client such as the Mail.app.

Message stuck in outbox - won't send

I've tried rebooting, switching airplane mode on and off, and several times now I just go back to the mailbox and the message is stuck in the outbox. The progress bar shows "sending 1 of 1", and the progress bar shows 100%, but the god damned message is still in there. I know the server is working because I just sent a test message to myself from Outlook 2003 through the same account and received it.
edit: I just tried switching to airplane mode and then powering off and on the iPhone. I checked the mailbox while still in airplane mode, then went to settings and turned off airplane mode and reconnected to WiFi and my network. Then I went to mail again, and the same thing happened. It looks like it is sending the message, but the progress bar just stops once it is completely full, and the message never sends.
PLEASE HELP! This thing is driving me NUTS! And of course it figures it would happen with one of the most urgent emails I've ever needed to send! HAHAHA!

How come when I'm away from my house and I try to send an email it will go into my outbox and will give me an error that it doesn't recognize my email address?

Sounds like the account does not have an authenticated SMTP server.

How can I add an MSN email account to my phone. They show as listed when I click on the email icon but I can not send or receive from there.

Hello riopeltravel, let's solve this mystery! What make & model phone do you have? Also, have you tried deleting the email account off of the phone and re-adding with the username and password? How long have the email accounts stopped working? Keep us posted!

In Mail Preferences/Accounts/each GMail account, set up the SMTP Outgoing Server for each account separately, going into SMTP name/edit/Advanced and specify the Username of each account. The Outgoing servers must be two different servers, authenticated by the Username and Password of each.
Otherwise, the GMail SMTP server will change the from address to that of the account where the SMTP server was setup.

Right click the problem folder. Select Properties. Then Repair Folder.

TS3276 The email server didn't recognize your username/password combination.

Above is the error message that I get when I try to email an image from iPhoto. I don't use "Mail", I use Gmail. Do I have to set up in "Mail" in order to email an image from iPhoto and as well a letter from Word using Gmail, because I can't email from Word either? Can you help me with this please?

TS3276 the email content is completely gone. I pressed hide detail and not sure how to reverse it

I pressed hide detail on my email and the message disapeared.
how can I reverse it.

THis doesn't fix anything.
Can anyone tell how to unhide and email?? This is extremely annoying! I have hidden a few emails accidentally and find no way to make them visible again.
