This is what I think happened. An email that was sent to my mailbox and it thinks its spam. How do I correct this?

What does "it" mean?  Are you referring to Apple's mail application?  The best you could do there is find the message in your junk mailbox and click the "not junk" button on top.  Otherwise, it depends completely on your email provider.
