TS3297 I'm getting Error 3253 when downloading iTunes. Hasn't happened before. What to do?

I'm getting Error 3253 when downloading iTunes. Hasn't happened before.  I'm running Windows Xp and have a cable connection. I have the latest download of iTunes. Can anyone help?   Thanks.

Changing my DNS settings worked for me. I followed the instructions here:

    Attempting to download a couple of albums and I have never had this issue before.  In downloading, it appears as though the downloads on some tracks are getting interupted.
    The results of this interuption is that even if I resume the download, upon trying to play the track that got interupted, I get asked to authorize my computer to play the song.  I type in my information, and it says my computer is already authorized, which is true and great, but it still will not play the tune.
    I got some help from Tech Support and they said that the download was likely interupted and this has caused it to break in some way.  How can I fix this issue so that I can safely download my tunes?

    I am getting error 3253 while downloading ios 6.1.3 on my windows 7. I am having version 11.0.2.26 of i-Tunes. I tried downloading manier times but not worth after downloading half of the size i lost my network connection and error -3253 pop up.  I also turned off windows firewall but nothing is worth. Prvious time when i was running with microsoft xp i just download internet explorer 8 and it fixed my problem, but i don't get solution for windows 7, Please help me out

    Alerts with codes in the 3000 range generally mean that iTunes cannot contact the gs.apple.com server on ports 80 or 443. This may be because out-of-date or incorrectly configured security or firewall software is interfering, or due to your Internet proxy settings. If you are using a proxy, try removing the proxy settings, or using a known-good network. If that does not resolve the issue, follow iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software issues.

    This sounds like a permission issue most likely with the iTunes Media folder.  Here is an article that will help you troubleshoot this issue.

    I am getting Error = 9006 when downloading a podcast, Derb Radio on TakiMag, but not other podcasts.  It started occurring recently, about 3 of the last 4. This occurs on both a Windows and Apple machine.  iTunes is updated.  It does not occur with other podcasts.  Then end result is that the podcast does not download.
    I also get a "rebuffering stream" interruption during playback on the computer.

    Check your security software and settings to make sure that they aren't preventing a connection to the Apple servers.

    In iTunes, go "Help > Run Diagnostics". Uncheck the boxes other than Network connectivity tests, as per the following screenshot:
    ... and click "Next".
    When you get through to the final screen:

  • Error 3253 when using Itunes store

    I keep getting error 3253 when I am trying to download from the itunes store. I have restarted itunes/my computer/my router to try to get this to work, but no dice. Podcasts are downloading fine, the internet is otherwise working fine. I also made sure my itunes was up to date and even reinstalled it just to make sure. Is something wrong with the store? It seems to be the only thing that is giving me issues. Thanks for any help.

    Update: still not working. I thought maybe it was an issue with this certain show (Big Love - Season 2), so I tried buying one episode of Fringe (another show I would like to get into) and the same problem continues. Finally, I bought one song to see if it was a file size/type issue, but nope. Can anyone please help me? This is really irritating... Will they still charge me for these even though I cannot download them?

    An easy quick fix you can try without running throuh the security software article, is try restoring from another computer or uninstall the security software on your computer.
