If you didn't establish a rescue email address, you will need to call applecare support. Ask for account security to reset your security questions. After the advisor is able to verify your identity, they can reset your security questions.

I was looking for a song called Wake Up! by an group AAA. Since they are much more famous in Japan, the song was only available after I changed my country on the menu to Japan. Then when i tried to purchase the song, it said I was unable to becuase it was unavailable in my actual country. I was just wondering if there was any way to buy this song in the USA.
If it is not available in the US Store, and that is where your iTunes account is, then no, you cannot purchase it.

My hard drive suddenly died last night with no warning, and I can't even run Disk Utility on it (it just spins forever when I open it through the install disk). The Hardware Test confirmed that my hard drive is a mess.
You had said something about needing an adaptor for whatever external device you use to back up your files. My external drive is Firewire, and I'm wondering if you know whether I'll need an adaptor for that as well? Just so I can plan to get one in advance, while I anxiously await my external drive's arrival...

You have to respond to the verification email that Apple should have sent to you by clicking the Verify Now link. Make sure you check the email address you used to set up your iCloud account. This would not normally be an @icloud.com email address. Also make sure you check the spam/junk folder as well as the inbox. If it isn't there, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage your Apple ID, sign in, click on Name, ID and Email addresses on the left, then to the right click Resend under your Primary Email Address to resend the verification email.

Never rely upon the iTunes Store to always have your purchases. Always keep a copy of everything safe on a backup drive at home.

Does iTunes see the iPod?
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
If so have you done anything like update iTunes on the computer since it last successfully synced?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Does any media now sync to the iPod?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?

MJ2633You purchase a track by clicking on the price. If you saw a "gift this song" option, you probably clicked on the arrow next to the price.
