TS3297 Please make a 64-bit itunes that can install correctly.

I have unistalled everything, double-checked the hard drive and reinstalled multiple times now.  I have also tried repairing and reinstalling quicktime multiple times.
I'm about to give up one Apple as I have never had any program give me the trouble of itunes for just an installation.  I have a 64-bit system but when I plug in my ipad it says I have the 32-bit program installed when i know i chose the 64-bit one about 20 times.

I also have similar problem. iTunes will not install on new HP desktop which uses Win 7 Professional and IE 9! Instal stops with note download was incomplete. Tried several times without Firewall and clearing IE history Still no luck! Is it a Win 7 or IE 9 problem?????

    Hi!
So i think i closed the wrong service at some point a few weeks back (apple mobile device) but iTunes remained working after that for another week. I then updated iTunes and i get the same  "Service ‘Apple Mobile Device’ (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start.  Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services." every time. If i click ignore, just so i can access iTunes with out syncing my iPod (touch 2nd gen) i then get 'iTunes was not installed correctly. Please re-install iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 193)" when it has all installed. I don't understand what the problem is anymore as I have looked at other questions on the apple website, carried out the advice and it hasn't work. Any of them.
    Tings I have done:
    - Wiped all iTunes and Apple data from my computer (if you search for 'iTunes' or 'Apple' nothing comes up apart from applets from system code.
    - Attached iPod before iTunes install and updated drivers.
    - Installed iTunes as 'Run as administrator'
    - Uninstalled and re-installed the software nearly 20 times now and rebooted the computer in between everytime.
Please someone help because i really need to get music on my ipod and i enjoy the ease of use of iTunes compared to spotify or Windows Media Player.

Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for performance issues or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.
Regarding AMDS failures there is a hint in another thread that disabling the Windows Firewall before attempting to reinstall may help, otherwise take a look at the steps outlined in this post. Run the Itunes installer to remove itunes, than install the 64-bit version of itines.) This just started a few weeks ago. Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, can you get a normal iTunes install to go through properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install (or uninstall), let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • I attempted to update iTunes yesterday and I thought the process completed without any issues but when I tried opening iTunes today, I got an error message that said "iTunes was not installed correctly.  Please reinstall iTunes.  Error 7"

Attempted to update iTunes on January 23rd and it appeared to install properly.  When I tried to open iTunes on January 24th, it would not open and gave me an error message that said "iTunes was not installed correctly.  Please reinstall iTunes.  Error 7 (Windows error 126)"  I then tried to reintall iTunes and it again appeared to install properly but when it attempted to open, I was given the same error message.

Taken at face value, you're having trouble with an Apple Application Support program file there. (Apple Application Support is where single copies of program files used by multiple different Apple programs are kept.)
Let's try something relatively simple first. Restart the PC. If you're using Vista or 7,now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "Apple Application Support" and then click "Repair". If you're using XP,head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "Apple Application Support", click "Change" and then click "Repair".
If no joy after that, try the more rigorous uninstall/reinstall procedure from the following post. (If you've got XP, although the procedure is for Vista and 7, just read "Computer" as "My Computer", read "Uninstall a program control panel" as "Add or Remove programs control panel" and assume the system is 32-bit, and you'll be doing the right things.)

I just tried to install latest iTunes version and install failed. A pop-up stated "iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. ERROR 7 (Windows error 1114)." I have a decent-sized iTunes library that is not backed-up to the cloud. How can I either get back to the previous iTunes version that was functioning OR install a new version without losing the Library?

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

  • ITunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7

    Help me!!
    I have Windows Vista, 64bit.
I keep getting this error whenever I try to install iTunes: "iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7"
I read a lot of posts online on this problem, and tried everything, but nothing helps.
I completely removed iTunes, QuickTime, Bonjour, etc. from my computer, cleaned the registry, manually erased all the leftovers from folders like Program Files, Common Files, etc.
All this and nothing. I keep getting the same error whenever I try to install iTunes.QuickTime isn't working as well.
I'd be happy to hear if anybody has a solution.
    Thanks

Okay ... damaged file in one of the associated programs (usually Apple Application Support) is still our most likely bet, even though you've already covered that territory.
Doublechecking ... was this the article you used for your complete uninstall/reinstall?
[Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923]
... unfortunately, it's still not accurate for 64-bit systems. In particular, it can leave dodgy Apple Application Support program files (in particular) on your system, which is consistent with a persistent error 7.
So perhaps try the complete uninstall/reinstall again, with the modifications suggested in the following post:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=12136253&#12136253
Any better luck with the 7 after that?

Hi Doug! I was having the same problem but after reading a lot of answers I found the solution. First of all you need unistall ALL THE SOFTWARE OF APPLE from your computer, I mean BONJOUR, QUICKTIME, ITUNES, APPLE SOFTWARE UPDATE, APPLE MOBILE DEVICE SUPPORT and the other one that is from compatibility with apps of apple, after that you must verify if this folders are removed if they don't then remove it:
    C:\Program Files\Bonjour
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\
    C:\Program Files\iTunes\
    C:\Program Files\iPod\
If you have a 64-bit version of Windows, you'll need to confirm that the following folders have been removed:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Bonjour
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\
    C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes\
    C:\Program Files (x86)\iPod\
Then if you have ccleaner you can use it to clean all registers left, then reboot and try to install iTunes 11.1.4 again as administrator... That works for me, I hope that helps you too...

  • Has anyone ever received the error Itunes was not installed correctly.  Please reinstall Itunes Error 7 Windows error 126

I had to reinstall my Itunes account and after installing received this error: This application has failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found.  Reinstalling the application may fix the problem.
The other error message that displayed after I tried to reinstall it was "Itunes was not installed correctly.  Please reinstall Itunes Error 7 (Windows error 126).
Any assistance with correcting this matter is greatly appreciated.  My ipod is fine, I just need to reinstall Itunes on my computer.
    Thanks,

I was today invited to upgrade my iTunes when I logged on.  Update failed. Every time I now try to open iTunes I get error messages.  Second message reads "iTunes was not installed correctly. Please re-install iTunes. Error 7. Windows error 126". I now can't sync my iPhoneand I am worried that if I re-install I will lose all my contacts, calendar, notes, etc.

I too had this problems (Windows 8.1).  A few weeks ago after the previous update before this version of itunes, I'd had a problem with the itunes store crashing and at that time I followed instructions to copy QTMovieWin.dll to the itunes folder, which fixed the store crashing.
Today I fixed the problem by:
    Delete QTMovieWin.dll from C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes.
Uninstall ALL Apple Software using Control Panel / Programs and Features.  I uninstalled:
    iTunes
    QuickTime
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Apple Application Support
    Apple Software Update
    Bonjour
    Delete the folders:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple
    Restart the computer
    Reinstall QuickTime
    Reinstall iTunes
Everything works GREAT now, including the iTunes store.  You will not lose your media files, I got everything back, all my settings, playlists, etc.
