I am having the same issue. When I get an email that the latest epsidoee in my season pass is ready for downloard, I click the place in the email and it opens iTunes, but then I get the message Your request is temporarily unable to be processed.Please try again later"I This just statrted the other day. I am seeing this problem show up on other forums as well. Does anyone know what is gong on?

Are you not backing your photos up to iCloud? Dropbox? Any of the other options? If not, sorry, you will lose your photos.
You must use a computer to restore. Doesn;t matter if it's yours or not - any computer will do as long as it has the latest version of iTunes.

Trying to gift playlist and getting Your request is temporarily unable to be processed.
I created a playlist with 19 songs. I gift playlist go through entire process, click purchase and get "Your request is temporarily unable to be processed. Try again Later" from Itunes
Found this discussion: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3603097?start=0&tstart=0 which was really helpful. The problem is that we were trying to change this person's credit card associated with the AppleID from her personal card to her company credit card. Going to http://store.apple.com/us/account/home and trying to Edit the credit card information at least got us to a more useful error message -- it complained about the credit card billing address.
So we went to Plan B, and created a new appleID for her, following these instructions http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2534 to get her an appleID without a credit card. It then happily completed the registration process, and now she can download free apps.
When she needs to buy an app, I'll probably be back. (Sheesh, apple, this should NOT be this hard to give you money!!!) -
TS1389 Trying to purchase music but getting error message

I get a 5002 error when trying to buy music from the itunes store. I cannot change my account details either as I get the message that the request is temporarily unavailable.
This was fine until this weekI'm getting the same message (repeatedly) when trying to enter billing/credit card info and redeem an iTunes gift card either in iTunes on my PC or via my iPod touch (new with IOS5 software). Finally managed to input the information by going online and doing it through the web. Try going to http://store.apple.com/us/account/home and clicking on "change your default shipping or billing info" under Account Settings.

I tried to purchase music at iTunes with the iTunes card I was given. I was able to redeem the amount and it shows on my apple Id I have $25 but it does not pay my purchase it will still go to my credit card and bill it. It did not give an option.
If you were instructed to call them, then that's what you should do. They will probably need to verify your identity before helping you with the security question.
