When accessing iTunes store, Itunes stops working.

Ever since I got a new laptop with Win8 (5 months ago) I have been unable to access the iTunes Store.  I've searched for answers and nothing has worked.  Gave up for several months since Apple told me I'd have to pay their support team to fix the issue.  Today I found this thread, applied the fix found by "DonInDassel" and so far I'm accessing the store with no issue.  I copied & pasted the file into the new location so it stayed in both locations, just in case.  iTunes store is still running after 30 minutes and I've been randomly clicking all over the place just to test it!!!!  Why can't Apple figure this stuff out?  LOL!  I hope y'all have the same success!

    with the most recent update of iTunes (2015, 12.1.1.4- or even later) The iTunes store has stopped working. Every time I open it a window pops up saying "ITunes has stopped working" and then I am forced to close the program and can't get back on it. I own a PC with windows 8.     As someone who uses iTunes just about every day, I know I would be unhappy with things if I could not get it to launch. Let's see if we can get you back up and running. I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -

  • Why can't I open iTune Store on my PC?   When I click on the iTunes Store box, I get the message that the iTunes Store has stopped working.  This happens everytime.  What is wrong with my download?

    My PC is running Windows 7.  I have downloaded the new OS Version for iTunes onto the computer.  It all works fine from the iPod Touch, but when I click the block for the iTunes Store, I get the message that "iTunes has stopped working".  What is wrong? How can I fix it so I can purchase from the store on my PC instead of having to use the small keyboard on the iPod Touch?

    There's an issue currently that a lot of us are experiencing in that we all get the error message "iTunes is currently unavailable; please try later"
    It's an issue with Apple and we're awaiting an update re this
    I've posted a topic in regards to this after having a long conversation with Apple support this morning and will be receiving a call from their tech team tomorrow to run through it further
    As it stands iTunes cannot be accessed via ATV's and nor can it be streamed via AirPlay from iTunes to the ATV
    However I can access all films/iCloud content via my Mac Mini with no issues!

  • Everytime I click on iTunes Store it stops working and closes the whole itunes program

    I have restarted the computer several times, repaired several apple related programs from the control panel, but the problem persists. It is only when I am using the itunes software on my computer too. The regular library works fine and i can even play itunes radio, it only happens when I click the little "Itunes store" rectangle.     I am having the very same problem with iTunes, I'm running Windows 7 64 bit and started having the problem after the latest update. I just upgraded to the new 5s and was syncing everything to it, so I figured that I would update my itunes software as well. Which I never do after updating one time and had trouble with it on my old laptop and had to rollback to a older version of itunes. I have tried every suggestion that has been posted in the Apple Discussion area and on other websites no luck what so ever. I figured I will wait till Apple comes out with another update and try again. In the post above I am having the exact problem with iTunes.  I'd love to know what thef-ing problem is because this is extremely annoying!

    I've been using itunes for years, on Windows 7, suddenly it won't open at all.  It freezes the window as well.  I've uninstalled and reinstalled twice. Same problem

  • ITunes 12 crashes when accessing the store

    I installed Yosemite and iTunes 12.0.1. Since then, it crashes when accessing the store (wolor wheel)
    I re-installed iTunes. It works with my Library when my iMac is disconnected from the net, but as soon as iTunes tries to access the store and refresh iTunes Match… Bang. It freezes again and I have to re-install it (it freezes again when I restart, even when disconnected).
    Ho can I solve this, please ?

    I was having the same issue. iTunes Match had little or none to do with it. Basically anything that required logging into the store (I needed to re auth). Frustrating because iTunes now makes you use your apple id for the tiniest little tasks, and worse yet, it shows logged in, but it really isn't. Anytime I tried to authenticate it would time out and then cause iTunes and a library file to not respond, causing me to force quit. I did notice my wireless connection was suffering. I rebooted my router and tried again, voila! connected and authorized! no time outs! iTunes 12.0.1.26 seems to be a little sensitive to weak connections?

    When you add a WiFi you can't get into any websites??? But if you turn WiFi off you can access websites?

    When synching my ifone 4 with itunes the synch stops working. and an error message saying the program has stopped working correctly and windows will close the program and notify me when a solution becomes available. I've unistalled i tunes and assoctiated programs and done a re-boot and installed I-tunes again, but still got the same problem. Any suggestions?

    I've unistalled and double checked the c: drive as per the Apple instructions and re-loaded itunes and still get the same error. It seems to be when its synching the phtographs when the problem occurs.

    Buddhabeat...clicking on the "Report a Problem" button next to the song(s) in question, should open a drop-down list menu, that allows you to select the specific issue/area of concern that you are experiecing (or you can select a generic "My problem is not on the list" (or something to that effect). Underneath this drop-down menu box, there should be another message box where you can describe  the issue/problem your having. Below this message box will be a "Submit" button...clicking on that will send your message to the Apple iTunes Store Customer Support Centre (you will see a confirmation message that your message has been sent), as well as receive an email notification from the Support Centre confirming your message has been received, a case number, and that you will receive an email response pertaining to the issue/problem you're having, from the Support Centre asap (usually within 24 hours). That's how it worked for me, anyhow.

    I just got an iPod nano 4th Generation for Christmas and I was so excited to start using it! I installed iTunes and set up an account, but when i came home and installed iTunes and signed into my account the Itunes Store wouldn't work. When i click on Itunes Store the home page will come up, but when i try to click on one of the links nothing will happen. At the top it just says "Accessing iTunes Store..." Please help I don't know what is wrong with it. It worked on the other computer i have the account on.

    Kendra, does the PC that does not work have anything from Symantec installed on it? If so it is probably Norton security software that is blocking it.
    Read this thread - there is a post by WileECoyote33, where they had to download a Norton removal tool to get rid of a trial version they weren't even using! Norton was blocking itunes. It has its own firewall, separate from the built-in Windows firewall.

    I just recently updated the software on my ihpone 4 to the iOS 7 and now my iTunes Store does not work. All of my other apps work perfectly fine except iTunes.  Whenever I open the app, the icons for music and movies and tv shows come up, but when I touch them, nothing happens. The screen is just blank. And I already tried updating again, updating iTunes on my computer, turning my iphone off and on, and resetting my ihpone, and nothing works. Can anyone help?

    I searched this site for ios 7 and itunes store and found numerous others with the same problem, and several suggested solutions. One said that they had blocked all cookies and that was apparently the problem. I had done the same thing - blocked all cookies. So I set cookies back to "third parties and advertisers" and that solved the problem. Now the itunes store is working.
