TS3297 When I try to buy a song from iTunes it says something about security questions and when I type them in it says they are not valid and won't let me download the music?!

iTunes Store is not letting me purchase any songs. When I download them it says something about security questions and when I type them in it says they are incorrect when they are! Hiw can I download song?

Help! When I try to purchase a song from iTunes and have agreed to the terms and conditions, it then tells me that my session has timed out... but I've only been trying for a few minutes. I can't buy songs if it keeps doing this! Does anyone know why it's doing this and how to fix it? Thanks!

Hi mterry1723, one solution that might be worth trying is this:
    - Close iTunes, if it's open
    - Open Safari and got to 'Preferences'
    - Select 'Security' on the top
    - Untick all the security options in the menu
    - Click the 'Show Cookies' button and look for all the 'apple' entries in the left-hand column.
    - Highlight them (select them collectively) and press 'Remove'
    - Now open iTunes and buy the song as usual.
    - You may be asked to do the same security process as before, so do as asked.
    - Hopefully, the security check will now have accepted your answers and start downloading the song as normal.
Remember to re-tick all the required security options you had just un-ticked in Safari preferences. You don't need to bother about opening the cookies again.
I hope this has worked for you and my profoundest apologies if it has not. Worth a go, though!
I did see this thread: https://discussions.apple.com/message/18259935#18259935 which may be of more help, mainly the last entry by 'c2boyd'

I have an iPhone and recently bought an iPod 4 touch what l am using the same apple ID for. The iPod won't let me download songs from iTunes it is asking me security questions which I don't think I have put answers to in the first place, because of this it won't let me buy any songs on iTunes

It's probably asking you to verify the security code found on the back of your credit card.

Make sure you understand the difference between an Audio File and a GarageBand Project File (also known as GarageBand Song File)
The + sing in the My Songs page is for opening a GarageBand Project File, either a new one or one that is copied vie the iTunes File Sharing mechanism. If I understand you right, then you want to import an Audio File from your iTunes library in a GarageBand Project and not open an existing GarageBand Project.
To import an Audio File from your iTunes Library to an existing GarageBand Project.
Make sure you sync your iTunes Library (all songs or a selection) to your iPad. This is the standard procedure so you can listen to your iTunes Library on your iPad (this step has nothing to do with GarageBand yet)
Once you are in your GarageBand Project, tap the Loop Browser icon (the ribbon) to open the Loop Browser
The misleading part here is that this window can display three tabs, not only the Apple Loops. It also displays any synced audio file via the iTunes Fle Sharing (the tab is labeled "Audio Files) and also any songs that you have synced to yoyr iPad that I just described. This tab is now called "Music".
Look at the screenshot of my previous post. The Music tab provides the same browsing capabilities (Playlists, Artist, etc) as your iTunes.
Navigate to the Kareoke Song (audio file) and drag it onto a GarageBand audio track
I explain all those details and concepts in my GarageBand book
    Hope that helps

  • TS1425 5th Generation Nano iPod.  The iPod syncs on iTunes when I connect it to my MAC, but when I try to add a song from iTunes to the iPod, I receive the message "Cannot be synced, unknown error occurred (1039)

5th generation iPod Nano - iPod syncs with my iTunes and I can see it in iTunes, but when I try to move a song from my iTunes to the iPod I get an error message "Cannot by synced, Unknown error occurred (1039).  System works fine with my 4th generation iPod Nano.  I'm afraid to "RESET" my iPod because I may not be able to restore my music and videos afterwards.

    Hello Ventanilla 97,
I agree with planb77 with recreating your itunes library. That will fix your issue. If you would like more step by step info go here:

  • When i try to buy a song on itunes it says there is not enough memory available at the itunes store, help please?!?

is this a problem with my computer or a technical glitch at their end, anyone know how to solve this or got any suggestions?

If the email hasn't arrived after a few hours and isn't in a spam filter, you need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; this can be done by phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, or clicking here and picking a method, or if your country isn't listed in either article, filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

  • I had to change my password, and need to change my security questions, as they are wrong. Apple won't let me change the security questions unless I answer the old ones, which I cannot do. Suggestions please for how I can change my security questions.

I had to change my password and did so succesfully, but cannot change my original security questios. To make new security questions, Apple wants me to answer my old security questions, which I cannot do to their satisfaction, as my answers do not match their answers on file. Is there a way to change my security questions without being able to answer my orignal questions first?

Why not? If you're the owner then you should know your own question/answer combination as you created them.

    Call Apple.

  • HT204266 I have redeemed points on my account but, when I try to buy a song I tunes doesnt use them it tries to access the credit card associated with the account for payment.

I have redeemed points on my account but, when I try to buy a song I tunes doesnt use them it tries to access the credit card associated with the account for payment. How do I tell this thing to use the points instead. duh

By 'redeemed points' I assume that you mean that you've redeemed an iTunes gift card onto your account (?). If you do then are you trying to buy songs for yourself or are you trying to gift them - you can only gift items from a credit card, an account's balance can't be used for gifting. If you are buying for yourseflt and you are being asked to enter/verify a credit card number then are you currently in the country where your iTunes account is based ?

  • I have money in my itunes account but when I try to buy a song it doesn't let me buy it or download.  It doesn't do anything!

You cannot and need to ask Apple to reset your security questions. To do this, click here and pick a method; if the article doesn't list one for your country or you're unable to call, fill out and submit this form.
Changing the rescue email address requires supplying two of the answers. They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

What exactly happens when you try to sync?
    Does iTunes see the iPod?
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
If so have you done anything like update iTunes on the computer since it last successfully synced?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Does any media now sync to the iPod?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?

  • HT201209 when i try to buy a song with a itunes card hooked up....

when i try to buy a song off my account it says "because this is your first time making a purchase on this device, you must verify your identity by answering questions" but i forgot the answers

If you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) on your account then the steps half-way down this page will give you a reset link on your account : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer your questions) then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple in your country to get the questions reset.
Contacting Apple about account security : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699
When they've been reset (and if you don't already have a rescue email address) you can then use the steps half-way down the HT5312 link above to add a rescue email address for potential future use

  • TS3297 When I try to purchase an item from iTunes and it says my security code is invalid so I go in and enter the right code and it won't take it

When I try to buy a song it won't let me it says it's an invalid security code and when I put in the code that's on the back of my card it still says its wrong

Assuming that it's not a debit card or a prepaid card then is the address on your iTunes account exactly the same (format and spacing etc) as on your credit card bill : http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1646 ? If it is then you could try what it says at the bottom of that page :
If the issue persists, contact your credit card company and verify that they and any company they use to process credit card authorisations have the correct information on file.
And/or try contacting iTunes support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page
