TS3354 Video playback help - black screen

I'm trying to view my TV shows but all I get is a black screen. My movies seem to be loading just fine, though. I've already updated my iTunes thinking that that would be the problem, but nothing has changed. Any suggestions?

Each display is fed by its own graphics card: I have two NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT PCI cards, with 256 MB dedicated VRAM each. I am running two Dell 24" displays @ 1080p via DVI.
The source material is Uncompressed 8-bit 4:2:2 (with all FX rendered).
"External Video" settings:
When I brought up System Profiler just now, I noticed several oddities, one being that it says I have 0MB of VRAM, and the other being that one of my cards takes up 1 pin on the PCIe bus... Very strange! ???

Internet videos are a black screen

I just added a second screen to my desktop. After getting that working suddenly all internet videos are solid black screens. I hear the audio and see all the controls, but if I fiddle with the video it freezes on me and a pop up saying shockwave flash is busy or non responsive, the audio also stops at that point. same result weather i use internet explorer or Firefox. Have uninstalled and downloaded/installed flash player a couple times. rebooted my computer nothing changes. how can i fix this?

It sounds like your graphics driver isn't happy. You can test this by disabling hardware accleration.
This troubleshooting guide will walk you through it:

YouTube 3D playback with black screen

I have desktop and laptop Win 7 Pro 64-bit computers both with latest Firefox and Adobe Flash Player. YouTube 3D videos (latest squashed format) playback fine on laptop but have black screen on desktop. I tried older version of Flash Player and disabling hardware accelaration on desktop which did not fix problem. The 3D button responds with "An error occurred, please try again later." only on the desktop. The laptop works fine. The same problem applies to the latest IE with the latest Flash Player on the desktop. I am looking for new suggestions to fix problem.

I just tried to install Premiere on my new MacBook Pro as well but I'm still not able to playback the picture. The sound works but the playback screen is completely black.
MacBook Pro (Retina) OS X: 10.8.2.
Adobe Premiere Pro CS6: Version 6.0.2 (072 (MC:264587))
Source Footage: Quicktime (56 gb in one file): Apple ProRes 422, Linear PCM, Timecode.
I also have some smaller clips in this Quicktime Codec: H.264, Linear PCM.
No error messages. Sometimes the program just freezes and I have to force quit it. Or it just won't playback.
It was a entirely fresh install of the software. I'm a member of adobe cloud so I downloaded it from the application manager.
I'm also running photoshop and inDesign which are working just fine. At the time i launched Premiere no other Adobe programs where running. Just programs as: textedit, mail and evernote.
No third-party codecs installed.
Tried to update Premiere with the latest updates but that didn't do any difference.

Please help. black screen when copying back to tape

I would be very grateful of any help. I am trying to copy a movie back to tape however when i do so it results in the recording on the tape being completly black. it has gone through the process but just left a black screen.

... and it did work before...? not all European camcorders allow a DV-IN...

finally: iM handle both video standards, even allows to import PAL footage into a NTSC project.. but cameras are 'hardwired' to one standard.. make sure, your project has same standard as camera.. (besides: Apple lingo is a little 'cryptical': '25 frames per second' = PAL, '30fps' = NTSC)
it could have happen, that you incidently created a NTSC project with your PAL footage. and now, it is impossible to playout THAT into/onto (english??) tape ...

Firefox crashes after Flash videos play with black screen

Whenever I'm playing a video with Flash, the screen is black although the sound is playing. Then Firefox is crashing.
I'm using the newest Firefox Version (28.0) on Mac OS 10.9.2 (newer Macbook Air) and the newest Flash version. I tried Safe mode and deactivated my plug-ins to make sure it's Flash.
I re-installed Flash and installed but it didn't help.
My Firefox crash reports say "hang | libsystem_kernel.dylib@0x15a3a" under signature and "EXC_BREAKPOINT / 0x00000002" under crash reason.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

5800 video playback is 'black'

I just bought 5800 yesterday. It has the v11 firmware on.
One strange problem that I have noticed is that from time to time :
a) When I try to playback video, I only get blank screen.
b) Also, when I go to the camera I also get a black screen.
It seems that this might happen after the autolock gets on.
After a on/off usually the behavior is back to normal.
Any one else had problems like that? Am I doing anything wrong?

After suffering from the above problems myself I am 99.9% certain that they are hardware related.
I tried all available reset methods whilst using the v11 firmware and the problem still persisted. The problem steadily became worse over a few days. In the end even a reboot wouldn't cure it. Leaving the phone switched off for 5 minutes seemed to work but then you could only use the camera a couple of times or play a video once before it happened again.
Today I bought another 5800xm which has the exact same product code and it doesn't have these problems.
I believe the issue may be some internal component being faulty or overheating.
I advise people with this problem to contact the retailer or a nokia care point ASAP.

Video FX Rendering Black Screen

I am working on a project in iMovie HD and everytime I try to render a clip in the time line the render changes the clip to a black screen and causes the clip after it to now play in place of the clip I tried to render. When I initially started the project, the FX worked and now it is doing this with everything I do and I can't figure it out. I pretty much cannot use any FX...HELP!

*Not knowing the origin to Your problem - General approach when in trouble is as follows:*
• *Free space on internal (start-up) hard disk if it is less than 10Gb should rather have 25Gb*
• Hard disk is untidy: Repair Permissions, Repair Hard disk (Apple Disc Util tool)
• Delete iMovie pref file - or rather start a new user/account - log into this and re-try
• Third party plug-ins that doesn't work OK (not relevant for iMovie’08)
• Program miss-match: iMovie 5.0.2, up to Mac OS X.4.11 AND QuickTime 7.4.1 - is OK
• Program miss-match: iMovie 6.0.3 or 6.0.4, Mac OS X.4.11 AND QuickTime 7.4.1 - is OK (might work under Leopard)
• Program miss-match: iMovie’08 v. 7.0.1, Mac OS X.4.11 AND QuickTime 7.4.1 - is OK (might work under Leopard)
• Screen must be set to Million-colors
iMovie pref file resides:
Mac Hard Disk (start-up HD)/Users/"Your account"/Library/Preferences and is named: com.apple.iMovie.plist
While iMovie is NOT RUNNING - move this file out to desk-top.
Now restart iMovie.
From LKN 1935: (in this case = iMovie HD (5), I tried it all, but nothing worked.
Your answer (above) has been helpfull insofar as all the different trials led to the conclusion that
there was something wrong with my iMovie software. I therefore threw everything away and reinstalled
iMovie from the HD. After that the exportation of DV videos (there has not been any problem with HDV videos)
to my Sony camcorders worked properly as it did before.

Please help - black screen blinking cursor 24" imac and XP home sp2

Brand new 24" imac purchased yesterday from the apple store with a 4 gig ram upgrade (i.e. all the newest stuff/versions). All updates installed & current.
Brand new (clean & scratchless) copy of Windows XP Home with SP2.
I ran the bootcamp assistant and made a 20 gig windows parition (so its under the 32 gig limit of fat32).
Following the installation procedure the windows disk is inserted, the machine reboots and then it just sits there with a black screen and a blinking cursor. The CD drive stops spinning and no progress from that point forward.
I then read on here some had better lucky with a "copy" of the original windows disk so I duplicated it in this Mac (i.e. burned with its own drive) but exactly the same problem with the burned copy (which also opens fine from within OSX).
I'm at a loss... where to go from here? We decided to try apple because they assured us we could run our "windows only aps" on the bootcamp side of the hardware but bootcamp isn't working!
Please advise...

Welcome to the Apple forums:
Be sure your XP disk had SP2 embedded into XP, and not a separate file or patch.
Also be sure your disk is not an ISO image but a real disk, with files on it. You can look at them using your Mac. Insert the CD or DVD and doubleclick the disk icon.
You should see most or all of the following files and folders:
(HOMEWITHSP2)
AUTORUN.INF
DOCS
DOTNETFX
I386
README.HTM
SETUP.EXE
SETUPXP.HTM
SUPPORT
VALUEADD
WIN51
WIN51IC
WIN51IC.SP2
When you copied the disk, did you make sure your copy was Windows readable? Mac has several formats, one of which is Mac-only for data CDs. You need to select the universal mode, Mac and Windows for the data image and when burning the image.
Also be sure you selected to close or finalize the CD after burning or it cannot be read by Windows.

TS3274 Video app will not play videos just a black screen

I have downloaded videos on my iPad. I press the video app and all I get is a black screen. I have turned off plus restarted the iPad STILL I get nothing. What welsh is there to do? Thanks

I have been having this same problem since the update. Are you running No-Script by chance? That is what was causing me an issue with embedded videos like on Vevo on Youtube, or youtube videos on news sites which would give me "An error has occured" message. Even if I allowed all scripts on the page, or even globally, the video would always return that error. By disabling NoScript, I was able to watch videos again on all of the sites I was having a problem with.
I tested this on another computer with Firefox 3.5. Videos worked fine as long as NoScript was allowing their host (youtube.com, etc) Seems like there is some sort of issue with NoScript and Firefox 3.6.15.

IChat video to aim, black screen

I've been scanning google and everywhere else for tips on this but no luck. I am using iChat with a logitech quickcam pro 9000 and attmepting to do video chat with friends on aim 5.9, 6.0 and 6.5 and they can all get audio and hear me, I can hear some of their audio as well. however, they get a black screen and cant see me. Is there a fix?

This device has been known to be a bit flakey since the UVC (USB Video Class Spec) was added to the OS at 10.4.9
Most reports the Audio does not work properly.
IS your System Preference > Displays set at Millions ?
Have you Repaired Permissions at all ?

Please Help: Black screen on Start up.

We lost our power due to a storm yesterday. My week old intel iMac was asleep when the power was cut and when I re-booted, all I got was the start up sound and then a black screen.
The light in the mouse is visible and when the spacebar is pressed I hear the error sound.
I have re-set the pram several times as well as left it un-plugged for and an hour. No change.
Any ideas?

Insert your installation disk, restart your Mac while holding the 'C' key down. It will take a little longer, but once booted up, choose File>Utilities>Disk Utility and Repair the Disk. Then restart as normal and see if that helps. You may need something more robust from a 3rd party, like DiskWarrior (which I think should be owned by all Mac users personally), to perform a proper repair. But anyway, try this and post back.

Help----black screen during set up

when setting up macbookpro, I made the apparently fatal mistake of not entering an admin password. Tried to go back and fix it by booting from original install Tiger disc. couldn't visualize option to reset pass. started the install, hoping it would bring up the option. then stopped the install, not wanting to reinstall over the existing system . It said you may not be able to start up in X. and sure enough.... Now I can only boot up from the install. Should I go thru the whole install now (two disks)? I did finally get the password reset, but it won't start with folder of system selected. HD icon gone. Also, the disc is still in, how do I get it to eject? Black screen says: Localhost:/root# CSRHIDtransitionDriver::Stop
10BluetoothHCIController::start Idle Timer Stopped. ANY help would be great. I'm really stuck here......

I thought of something else, I ran CleanMyMac 2 and when it was finished all the problems started.

Green light on during video chat but black screen

When I video chat, I am able to see the other person & my light is on but I only see a black screen. My microphone works. I am able to videochat using googlechat.

First off go to System Preferences and the Display option and check it is set to Millions.
If it is Restart the Mac whilst holding down the AppleALT+PR keys all at the same time until you have heard three Start Up Bongs.
If that does not work do this
