Can anyone suggest an app to download for SMS messaging for iphone 3G as the message application factory installed is pretty useless and doesnt keep your sent messages in a sent folde and has no folders unlike most messaging features on other phones.
    Many thanks

Why do you need a Sent folder?  iOS's Messaging interface lays each conversation out like a chat or IM.  Personally, I find that much more convenient.

  • Changing Quiz "Default Labels" for Incorrect Message for Captivate 5.5

    Hi Experts,
I am trying to change the "default labels" for incorrect message for my existing Quiz slides. However, it does not get reflected. Is there a way I can change, e.g., the default label for incorrect message from "...press Y to continue" to "xyz" for my existing quiz slide and get that reflected.
    Regards,
    Roshni

You can change these default labels at Quiz settings > Default Labels > Correct Message and Incorrect Message fields.
However, you need to be aware that changing these label defaults will have no effect whatsoever on the Success and Failure captions that are already present in your project.  Only new captions added AFTER the change will display the new text.

  • Can't see why I'm getting a bill for SMS messages

    Hi All
I am trying to find an answer to this and I'm hoping you might be able to help.
I have an iPhone 5 on a contract with a UK carrier ( O2 ). I often travel to the Middle East so to avoid horrendous call and data charges, I turn off cellular services and just to make sure I turn off the 'Send as SMS' option too. I would assume that this restricts me to Wi-Fi use only, which is what I want.
However my latest bill shows over $50 work of SMS charges for 'non-EU roaming' and I'm stumped as to why that might be.
Can anyone shed any light, please ?

Send as SMS only applies to iMessages (sent over wifi or cell data). You can see this option disppears if you trun off iMessage.
Regular SMS (sent to non-iMessage users) can still be sent. If you send a message in the Messages app and it is green, it is SMS and you will be charge for SMS text message.
    I turn off cellular services
Settings > General > Cellular  - Cellular data does not turn off all cell use. It turns off the cell data path.
SMS does not use cell data. It uses SMS/text data.
iMessages use cell data, as does web & email.

  • Urgent help required for sms messages

i need help urgently...i havea legal case comming up shortly and need my sms messages from my old lawyer off my phone for the court. as they will be evidence, and i cannot find a way to do this i need them on to a sim. how do i do this please. i do not have BIS service so i cannot send them like that....Help please thanks

I haven't figured out how to get them onto your SIM card yet - but it may be a good idea for you to "back them up" by marking them all "saved." They would then be more secure

  • Different alerts for email and sms messages for a contact with custom ring tone

    Hello,
    I have a Curve 8530 with OS 5.0.0.395.
I have my default sound profile set up to play one type of alert sound when I receive and email message and another when I receive an SMS message (so I know the difference without looking at my phone). That works fine except for contacts that I also have a custom ring tone set up for. It seems that under the Custom Ring Tones/Alerts section of the contact there is only one entry for Messages and it applies to both email and SMS. If I have the contact's message alerts set to the alert I have for email, then their SMS messages play the same alert and I might think it's an email. Or if I have the messages alerts set to the SMS alert sound then their emails sound like SMS messages. Is there a way to have a custom ring tone set up for a contact but still allow their emails and SMS messgaes to follow the current sound profile's settings?
    Thanks.

    Hello,
Have you had any luck resolving this issue. I had a 8230 and this was possible. But like you I can get the 8530 to work. If you found the solution, please let me know.

  • Anyone know of a way to backup SMS messages for FREE on a Mac?

Anyone know of a good program to extract SMS messages from the iphone, or the backup file located in /Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup on a mac? Something that is able to put it into a .txt file or anything that is legible?
And most importantly, that is firmware 3.0 friendly, works on an iphone 3GS (obviously but just incase) and is free? I saw some online but you have to pay for them and some aren't even iPhone OS 3.0 compatible. Only 2.0
Or does anyone know of a way to do this yourself by navigating the files in the backup folder?
Lastly... anyone know of a way to put old SMS's back on an iPhone if you decide to do a new restore instead of one from a backup? Many thanks!

Thanks neuroanatomist. That was really helpful, but when I went in and looked in my SMS folder, I opened it under notepad and it was all garbled and hard to read. It didn't look like in my iphone of indicating conversations between me and another person. I could see my conversations, but they where all mixed in with numbers and weird characters I've never seen before. You wouldn't happen to know of another program out there that can put it perhaps like in a word doc. or even excel sheet? Something that's just organized. Thanks.
Anyone else care to help me out with some mac community friendly advice? Thanks!

I received my verizon bill last month. Noted I was charged $19.98 for premium messaging under Data. This showed up on my statement for my one phone - 989-600-7940.  I've never used premium messaging for data on any of my phones. I want my bill adjusted.

    Welcome to the community, vtx1800sba!
Thank you for making us aware of potential billing errors. Please be cautious about posting your cell phone number here or anywhere online. (To protect yourself and the billing on your account).
Let me add to what the community posted by explaining that a premium SMS is a premium message service above the standard texting on your plan.  It allows special daily/weekly/monthly services, whether it be horoscopes, ringtones, jokes-of-the-day, reality television voting, etc.
If this issue has not already been addressed please PM me your name and contact number so I can help in resolving this issue.
    Thank you again!

  • ABAP SM02 for Portal (messages for users)

    Hi,
how to implement functionality similar to transaction SM02 from ABAP ?
I mean showing up message(s) for users after they login in and those currently working (it is something more then broadcasting message for currently working users as was described in weblog Brodcast messages to logged on users in Portal(Part1)) .
    regards,
    Michal

    Hello Michal,
well, you could for example modify the solution in the weblog mentioned in the way, that every user logged on to the portal only sees the message once per session. But i think, there is no way to show the user a popup without having any preliminary user action (i.e. clicking on anything) like it is in SAPGUI ... what other functionality do you think of ?

  • Is there any mechanism for broadcast messages for every client?

    Hi, all
I just wanna to develop such a kind of chatting program. So I just build the communication structure for that. I want to use UDP protocol to send and recieve messages. As we know about that protocol, it does not need connection between server and client, so some packages will be lost. I just used only one DatagramSocket to recieve and send any messages back and forth. And I implemented the client using multithread technique. The problem is that when multiple client sent messages to server, how could server broadcast the specific message to all clients. I am very headache about that. I just used Vector to store diffrent address and port. And when a meesage arrived, I will firstly make ajustment about whether the address and port had been stored, if not, I will add, otherwise I will ignore it. So I think it will be terrible that if thousands of clients connected to the server, how big Vector will be. So I want to know whether the Net package or DatagramSocket provided some kind of mechanism about broadcast messages for every interested client. Thanks. Here is my code below:

    Hello Amir,
ACS used to tie the license to the MAC address of the machine but I believe Cisco removed that in version 5.1 or 5.2 as users were facing with issues if the MAC changed on a virtual machine.
Other Cisco products, such as the ASA, Call Manger, and even ISE are a lot more restrictive when it comes to licensing. However, Cisco in general has many products that are licensed on the "honor system" where you are responsible for reporting and paying for everything that you are using.
Also, I suppose Cisco could audit any companies out there and figure out what the company is using vs what it actually paid for :)
    I hope this helps!

  • How do I unregister my iMessage as I can't sms anyone on samsung s4 they use to have iphone

How do I unregister my iMessage as I can't sms anyone on samsung s4 they use to have iphone

    Hi,
You can on the iPhone or other iOS device set the Messages app to Send as SMS if the iMessages will not go through
You can also Enable the MMS to make sure your can see replies.
It then depends, as has been said, if the person is using the same number as to whether it works to the contact details you have.
However turning Off the SMS and MMS options then the iMessages part itself will turn the Messages App off.
If you then place the iPhone in Airplane Mode, to break with the Server, for  few minutes then the iPhone Number itself it "de-registered".  (you have to turn Messages back On and wait for the number to Verify again if you want to use it again).

  • TS3367 Hi I am having trouble using facetime to a friend in europe.  I am in Canada.  Do I include all the country codes, or do i just use their number and that is all?

I am having a difficult time using facetime to call a friend in Europe  I am calling from Canada  Her phone number in France is 0607------
If I were to call using a regular phone call it would be 01133607------  (notice the 0 is left out in front of the 6)
Which do I use?  This latter one is not working.  please help
We both have wifi, and when she calls me it works but when I call her even through the phone icon and not contacts, it does not work.  I have used facetime to call Canadian friends in France with no problems.  I think I have the number wrong some how.
    Thanks for your time

The international number for France starts with 0033... or +33..., followed by the mobile number without the "0"

  • Why pop up message comes now if i use find my iphone to locate my family phone added with same id

I was using find my iphone app to locate my kids as all my iphones were registred against one ID. They never come to know that I am locating their location and know where they are. Now I come to know that when i tried to locate them pop message comes to their phones that someone has tried to search your location. This is really not good. even if phone lost and other person can find out that we are trying to search the location. How to close this pop up messages or what is the solution?

Once again - check that out:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4006
"With iCloud and iOS 5 or later you can locate, play a sound on, display a message on and remotely lock, or erase your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac. If these features do not work as expected, use the troubleshooting steps below. "
Translation: if you didn't mess up by clicking "play sound" or "display message", then your kids just got you. They already disabled location services I bet.
Another translation if first was too subtle, there is no message if you just locating.
