TS3367 Face time problems
My FaceTime on my iPad has stopped working. I rebooted, followed all the hints but no joy. My iPhone on the same wifi works fine but thefacetime just sits there. Any recommendations
Hi --- I do NOT have ppl making call requests but I DO have the gray shaded contacts area taking up 1/4 of my iPad3 screen and no kind of swipe up/dn/sideways seems to help.
Similarly, sometimes I start an email and the system freezes and the email box will not go away unless I shut down. Cancel will not work. Save as draft will not work. Or .... I try to go to "to" and the cursor will NOT move beyond the email composition area.
Stuff like this makes me question my foray into Apple-world as a presumably true-blue Android user.

Since the middle of April, Face time started to fail. Calls were made and persons at other end said their unit was not ringing, There was not answer and it did not ring at other end when calling back!
Then Calls rings, but when answering, the calls drop. I've using Facetiem with these users for more than a year whithout any problem. Nothigs has been change, is not the router. I am in California, the other person in Chile, the other one in Denmark and it just does not work. It did for more than a year whithout a hitch and all of the sudden....... Facetime is woth Zilch! Apple... give us a solution please! Accoding to other forums, it is happening to hundreds if not thousand of users! What gives Apple?Above should read.

My face time is able to call all my friends threw their face time.
But when it comes to one of my friends, she can not call me or message me threw face time, she can't call anyone threw face time.
I can't seem to figure out how to get hers to be able to call me, and this is threw her I pod touch.
It says: "______ is not available facetime"
Can someone help?Make sure it's enabled in Settings > Phone. It looks like it can be set to off if you migrate from another phone. Also make sure you can send a text message since that appears to be used to authenticate the facetime call.

What setting do I use to ensure that I am only using the Internet to face time and not using my mobile?
Settings>FaceTime.
Turn "Use Cellular Data" off. -

FaceTime is not dependent on carrier.
Try the steps mentioned in "Troubleshooting FaceTime".
Double check that correct region format is selected; date and time is set to automatic; correct time zone is selected and your phone number is correctly displayed under SETTINGS - PHONE - MY NUMBER -
When I try to contact someone on face time, it immediately says "failed". It never attempts to connect. Anyone know why this is happening.
Some folks have discovered thatchanging their DNS service fixes FaceTime connection issues. The idealway is to configure your modem/router with DNS service, but oftensettings in System Settings/Wi-Fi on your iPad will override the routersettings.

When using Facetime, there is one person I call that I can't see them, but I can hear them. They can see me and hear me. This doesn't happen with everyone. Prior to this happening, we did have issues with the video disconnecting and reconnecting. Help

Face time problems network connection
I want to use facetime app but every time I sign in I have an error network connection, but my daughter has an ipod touch and she can use this app with the same router at home.

Try posting the picture again.
Most of your problem is Mavericks.. and its lousy networking.
It seems like your TC is working fine.. this is just the standard Mavericks fun and games.
Let me recommend you do a clean new setup on the TC.

The key parts
1. Factory reset to clear the rubbish out.
2. Link-Local on the ipv6 in the computer.. essential now.
3. Clean new setup in the TC with new names, that are short no spaces and pure alphanumeric. DO NOT USE THOSE APPLE NAMES.
So TCgen4 is a good name for your TC.
TCwifi is a good name for the wifi of your TC.
4. Manually mount the TC disk in the computer before you start the TM backup.
In Finder use Go, Connect to server.
Type in the address, thusly, AFP://TCgen4.local (or whatever the name is.. local is the default domain).
5. Wipe the settings on TM and point it to the newly named TC.

I strongly recommend installing the widget.. A1 so you have some idea what the heck is going on with TM.

I recently registered for FaceTime with 3 devices and everything works very smooth. My problem is I gave one phone to my son. I can't remove my phone number from my iPad to make a FaceTime call to my son. Any advice?
You should be able to uncheck the phone number in the settings and simply use your Apple ID email address instead of the phone number.
Settings>FaceTime>You can be reached by FaceTime At. Uncheck your phone number and check your email address. -

Both my kids have iPod touch 4. The e-mail address is the same for both, when I set up facetime my daughter would get calles from her friends and my son would get calls from his friends. I synced the 2 iPods and now when 1 of them gets a facetime call both iPods ring. How do I correct this and keep the password the same on both for purchasing items? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The ipad was purchased in UAE, but it will be used out of the country with an itunes id registered in US. How can I enable it?
You can't. If you bought it int the UAE, you bought a device without FaceTime because it is restricted in the UAE. You can never download it or install it on the device either.

I got an iphone as a gift from Saudi Arabia, I understand that it is banned in Saudi Arabia. Now I'm in state can I activate it.
There is no way to get FaceTime on an iPhone meant to be sold in SA,
regardless of the current location of the iPhone. If FaceTime is important
to you, sell that iPhone to someone who can use it in SA or who does not
care about FaceTime, and use the proceeds towards an iPhone at your
present location.
Restriction on FaceTime is per government of SA and the hardware in the
SA iPhone will not install FaceTime ever.
You could also try Skpe or some of the similar programs.
