facetime is waiting for activation how can i activate
Hey,
Not sure if this will work, but worth a try.
Under Settings>Phone>"My Number"
Check whether you're correct number is entered.,
Also check whether you're Caller Id is ON or not.
As soon as I entered the correct number, I got a request to send a message to activate FaceTime

What does it mean when Face time says that it is waiting for an activation?
When I try to activate my facetime account, it says that it is waiting for an activation. I do not understand where do I activate my facetime account.
This should help:
iOS: Troubleshooting FaceTime and iMessage activation -
Switched to iPhone 5 on July 31st. Since then our data usage has doubled. Verizon will not help find out what the problem could be, they claim they are unaware of a problem. I told them to look on the customer support page and many have complained about the problem. Now on the apple site I see it may be an apple problem. Some one needs to fix this. Apple you want us to use your products, please do t make it cost us more money just to do what we did prior without problems. Prior phones were iPhone 4 and we never had issues and never went over 8 gb's for 4 phones. Now we are doing 14. Can anyone tell me what is going on. Getting ready to stop using cell phones all together.
Well you could Restore it from your backup and see if that helps. If it doesn't Restore it as new and manually add things back until the problem starts again.
I would also suggest trying a different SIM.
Without iOS 7 there is no way to isolate what is using the data. -
I can't figure this thing out for the life of me.
We could try, but if it's jailbroken all bets are off. The number of possibilities is endless. One of these may help:

I bought this iPhone 4 with iOS 4.2 yesterday from Australia and the first thing I wanted to try was Facetime but it seems like there is a problem. I tried to do everything mentioned in different forums to activate it but the problem is still there. When I turn on Facetime from settings>phone, it says "Waiting for Activation". I'm currently in Nepal using NepalTelecom 3G SIM. Is there a solution from Apple?

Dear all, I am unable to use face time. It says "waiting for activation". Pls tell what should I do.
I found a solution that solve the problem, and worked immediately.
FaceTime worked for me since I purchased my iPhone 4 more than a year ago.
It stopped working for me since I upgrade it to ios5.
The reason is that I had Restrictions On: accounts set to "Don't allow changes"
When you set this like that, you naturally blocking iCloud and FaceTime accounts.
To solve the problem go to Settings -> General -> Restrictions, and make sure you "allow changes" to accounts and also enable the FaceTime app to work.
Return to Settings -> FaceTime, and set it to 0 and back to 1.
That should do the trick. ☺
I recommend after to "Don't allow changes" to Accounts and Location, to block thieves disable the "Find my iPhone" functionality.
Good luck!

I have two questions...
1. Apple solves the problem of overheating in powersupply?
2. can i see temperature on Mac OS?
thanks for you answer...1. Apple solves the problem of overheating in powersupply?
Each new generation of Time Capsules has run cooler than the last. Solved? Hard to know in advance. Plan to give the Time Capsule plenty of free airspace on all sides.
2. can i see temperature on Mac OS?
No, but the Time Capsule's light will blink amber to signal that temperatures may be too high. -
when I try to set ON to face time , it shows "WAITING FOR ACTIVATION" and is not changing , please help me to solve this problem.
Where are you? What network are you on? Where did you get the iPhone?
FaceTime is blocked in much of the Middle East due to the laws there. Face Time WILL NOT work on the US T-Mobile Network. In order for Face Time to activate, you MUST have a text messaging plan or at least be able to send them (not blocked by the carrier). If you purchased the phone in another country, you MUST be able to send an international text message. -

Face time waiting for activation
Dear All,
I have got an iphone as a gift from a friend in Switzerland, I installed my Etisalat sim on it and the phone worked perfectly, facetime was activated immediately, and I could use it with relatives and friends living abroad.
I have upgraded to IOS 4.2.1 then factime disappeared and kept on showing the message “waiting for activation”
I spent the last 2 weeks just going through forums and discussions without finding an answer to this problem, although I did the following:
-Turned face time on and off thousands of times.
-Rebooted the phone many many times.
-Reset all many times.
-Upgraded to 4.3
-Reset from back up
-Reset as new
I believe the one who could solve this would deserve a senior position at apple.
Pleeeeaaaaaase help.
DamonSorry, but I can't help. I can only empathize with you that Facetime has some serious functional issues. Mine works off and on, depending on ..... whatever! There's no figuring it out.
Use Skype on the iPhone. It works like a charm, every time. Too bad Apple Facetime can't get it as right as Skype. -
when i try to active the imessage or facetime it typing "Waiting for activation" and stuck like this.
when i go to setting > phone > i see the correct number.
i think i read the whole google already trying resolving this issue tried everything, even restored my phone and actived the new sim using itunes.
but still not working same error.
the NEW sim of HOT MOBILE gave me a temporary number which worked fine its was 053-xxxxxx
after somthing the transfer like 24 later hours they transfered my old number from another carrier witch is 054-xxxxxx
and now not working.
called my carrier and they has no idea how to fix that.
they told me contact apple.
P L E A S E H E L P. . .Hi guys,
I keep getting "waiting for activation" on my iMessage. I can only send/receive iMessage from my email address, NOT my phone number.
I have done all kind of fixing suggestions that I can find online, but nothing works so far.
- Date & time set as automatic (I don't know why this matter, but mine was already set as automatic from the begining)
- Reset network setting
- Changing the DNS to 8.8.8.8.
- Restore to factory setting (from back up & as new iPhone)
- Turning on/off iMessage & facetime
- Sign out/in of apple ID
- Change location from apple ID
- Hard reset/reboot
And many others.
...me too. I'm in Portugal having the same issue!! Hopefuly Apple will give us a solution, shortly...
