Depends on how long your phone is in Airplane mode, and your carrier's policies. Any iMessages sent to you are only kept on Apple's servers for 24hrs, then deleted. Most carrier's have similar polices regarding SMS's, but they vary, carrier-to-carrier as to how long SMS's are kept before deletion.

You must be running Windows. AMD is a service that needs to be running in order to sync your phone. You need to start it as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1567.

For example, if I am downloading a paper by smith called "Surgery" that was published in 2002, it will automatically set the file name in the download to smith- surgery 2002. I have heard pages is smart enough to do this.

Pages can export only its own documents. They may be exported as PDF, MS Word, RTF or Text files.
Pages can import (ie. Open a file as, or Insert a file into, a Pages document) documents in several formats, but won't rename the document as you describe. Documents that can be Opened (eg. Text, AppleWorks 6 WP, MS Word files) are converted to Pages documents, and retain their original names, with .pages replacing the original file extension. Files that can be Inserted (generally .jpg, .pdf and other image files) become part of the existing Pages file and lose their names.
It may be possible, using AppleScript, to extract the text you want and to Save a Pages file using that text as the filename, but that would depend in part on being able to identify which text is wanted and which is not.
How will the script determine where the author's name begins and where it ends?
How will the script recognize the beginning and of the title, an decide how much of the title to use in the filename?
How will the script recognize the year of publication?
For papers published in a specific journal, with a strict format for placing each of these pieces on information, or containing the needed information as searchable meta data in the file, this might be possible. But it would require knowledge of the structure of these files, and would probably handle only papers published in a specific journal or set of journals.
Outside my field of knowledge, but there are some talented scripters around here who might want to take a closer look.

If you want to back up passwords, you need to use an extension such as Password Exporter. This is located at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2848/ .

My phone will randomly disconnect from the wifi and when I retype the password it says it is wrong. It will eventually work but I have to wait for a message to pop up on my screen to allow me to retype the wifi password.

When I first got my phone it worked perfectly fine with the wifi. Although later on I began to have problems connecting it. It will randomly disconnect from the wifi and when I try to retype the password it tells me it is wrong, although it is right. It will eventually work but in its own time, a message will pop up and allow me to type in the password and it will work. But sometimes it takes an hour or more and sometime it takes 10 minutes. I've seen where other people have had this problem but I don't know how to fix it. I'm not sure if it's an issue with my phone or if it's with my wifi. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Does this happen with all Wi-Fi hotspots? A specific one?
Have you tried forgetting the Wi-Fi connection and then reconnecting to it?
What about power cycling the Wi-Fi router?

Check your volume setting in a call. Try also a soft reset by holding both the Power and Volume Down button until the phone vibrates and restarts. You will not lose any data or settings except possibly the date and time.

On my blackberry torch I was able to turn the phone off after I set the alarm and the alarm rang at the correct time and started the phone. I cannot do this with the z10. Anyone have a solution?

As the BB10 phones are completely different to the older BBOS devices. Some features don't exist anymore. You can set the phone to bedtime mode at night. It will not ring or alert you. But the alarm will go off.

I think i know what your're talking about. You guys ever seen in the Apple store, some of the iPhones have a white background with all these different App icons shooting across the screen, then it goes to like photos or something. Sounds like you got a Display model pretty much.
Try hooking it up to iTunes, and restoring the firmware. That always wipes everything off the phone, and reloads the newest firmware back onto the phone. Give that a shot/

Hello cor-el, thanks for your reply. I changed my settings for downloads to desktop and it has appeared on there. When I double click I am asked which program I want to open file. I click firefox and another box "opening install" says I have chosen to open the file which is an application and do I want to save it. This is the only real option so I press save file. I get a box saying this is an executable file which may contain viruses - do you want to run. I press ok and the final box showing C drive file name and desktop appears stating application not found.
This happens the same whenever I try to install.
To my untrained eye the application is not being recognised as an application and I cannot work out how to get it to do that.
My plugin is still showing as out of date.
Is there anything you could suggest. Thanks for your time.

How do take a device off your apple ID? I went to a iphone5 from the iphone3. She is getting my old iphone3. We simply want to clear "me" from the 3 and get her set-up with her own apple ID and apps. So what do I do?

Connect her 3g to itunes, click the restore button, and restore as new, this will wipe the phone clean. Then sign into itunes with her new apple id that you will need to create by doing it here.

Then you can go to settings in the iphone, itunes and appstore, tap on sign in with apple id and sign in with her new apple id.
Everything will be hers then.
